Okay, well, it's really not necessary to refer to it as Kevin's car...because it isn't, it's yours.
Let me be perfectly honest and tell you that you did indeed purchase a used car that is in fact quite old... **** happens. And from the sounds of it, you were a bit rough with the poor thing. These are tough cars, but they all have their different failure points and yours simply reached that destination.
So personally, I don't care to have to read in this thread how you're implying, insinuating, speculating or whatever you want to call it, that you might have been sold a lemon, or a car on it's last legs... Because you didn't. I know Kevin...and there are MANY on here, and in this club, that have known him for worlds longer than I have.. And even *I* can tell you that he would have been brutally honest with you about the car and anything that may or may not be wrong with it.
The truth of the matter is that with any car you buy, no matter who you buy it from, you are willingly accepting that it could break. There are people out there that would sell a car literally on it's last legs, but I seriously doubt that Kevin is one of them.
So, on that note, I'm going to no longer be silent in asking you very nicely to not publicize your suspicious disappointment. I don't want to read it. Can I make it any clearer?

Don't forget, a lot of that knowledge is only thanks to people like Crit and Billy and this forum, so... don't give me all the credit. lol I simply learned what was shown to me, which built up confidence to branch out on my own to do the same and more repairs.
I was not blaming Kevin in any way, I never said I was gentle with this car either. Dear lord. I know Kevin wouldn't rip me off, and he sold me a car he and everyone else believed was in good condition. And it probably was, but I just had issues with it. Something that happens. I have the right to be disappointed, but I'm not blaming anyone for what happened besides myself. Where did I say I was blaming Kevin.

No, I'm just upset that I've paid for two different RX-7's and killed both of them. I never pointed blame. And seeing as cash is getting tighter and tighter with every purchase attempting to get these two to run, I'm getting more and more stressed out.
It. Happens.
So, to me it sounds like you probably need a change of scenery so-to-speak. You can still have reasonable fun, but with something more reliable...cheaper or easier to fix...or maybe just in better shape. Trade what you have for a Civic.
Edit: You know I say this as if I've never been pissed or upset that things aren't going so peachy in rotor-land... And the truth is, I've come close and even sold/traded an RX-7 or some other car I really liked for something different because it was costing so much, had too many issues for me to be able to enjoy it, or maybe it was fucked up altogether... But it all happens for a reason.
Read again, I said everything happens for a reason. Just because these cars didn't work out doesn't mean you should give up on the rotary dream, but maybe this is nature's way of telling you it's not supposed to happen *right now*. So take a break...or don't... One way or another, you'll eventually end up with a nice one. Though you may have to go through several pieces of **** first like most everyone else. Your first few rotaries generally suck ***.

Well, as of now, the plan is to sell both the GSL and SE. Motor and everything. As is. Get rid of these things out of my apartment complex and get a little pison powered, captain reliable, piece of civic or something,
Maybe I'll get myself a nice rotary fixer with my Navy money when I get out.

Well, it's 8.15, and after going to bed at 3, I'm not too awake, but I plan on going out there, unbolting everything related to the fuel injection system off the SE and at least getting the new manifold on there. I'll need some hoses and hylomar, but I need to figure out exactly how many I need before I make the trek to Advanced Auto.
Hopefully I'll be reporting back soon with a well running 13B with a Holley 465 before noon.

looks nice. do they make it in wood and 4 spoke or is grant the only one? been trying to find one like i had in the 808 but they're alittle expensive.
ray, those little round black things r the seals around the spark plug boot. that's a deep hole in the valve cover to access the plugs.

I had a similar set up on my old Spyder.
In other news, the old manifold is off, new one is bolted on. Now I'm off to Advanced to get some fuel line and screw clamps.
I'm so close, but yet, so far.

Go Kevin, we are rooting for you! The absolute coolest things about doing your own car work is when you turn the key and everything is working again.

So those little black things on top of the motor are the spark plugs? So do the rotors spin around the other way on that car because of the transverse engine mount? If it were me I'd have kept the engine pointing towards the rear axle.
And why are his headlights yellow?

Brett I like the new wheel. Unlike FB's, the FC's are just made to look different from the way they came off the lot. That JDM wheel makes it look like a sports car again instead of a VW.

By the way, Kevin, if you're still having problems with wipers it's a lot quicker to just swap it between cars (onto the daily) and repair the other set at your leisure. I meant to mention it a while back and just forgot.
Ok, I posted this already, but Collin and Kevin stole my thunder and pushed it back a pages, but I was thinking maybe we could start working on the White One / Sexypants II next Saturday cause I have the weekend off if Ray is ok with it, and Billy is able to tow it Early Sat morning.
So Ray, billy, does that sound good to you?

New parts make me all giddy, and I needed something new... I'm really not sure how else they come though. I just found this one on ebay for a good price... Opinions are like ********

Crit (engine hoist, floor jack, Mongoloid jack stands, impact and sockets, vacuum brake bleeder)
Do you also need to do the pilot and throwout bearing while you're in there, or have you done them recently? I know the injector bungs are freeze-plugged - are the Nikki manifold coolant passages in the housings plugged as well?
