I've put them in before but I don't seem to have the skills or patience to keep it from cracking on removal. There might also be a tool deficiency, cause all I used was a box cutter and a flathead screwdriver.
I'm looking for a power steering control valve for my 1984 GSL (see pdf attachments). I've got the power steering pump working but this thing is still leaking badly. Can anyone help me, or do you know someone who can? I'm wondering if anyone has taken one apart and re-built it?
Howdy Carlos! I don't think a "group buy" will get us anywhere, they seem to find these units one at a time from various warehouse locations. He said the one I got was the only one at that location.
I would recommend that you first try to source it locally, I have a feeling that FB windshields are generally available for $100-$125 wholesale and are being resold retail much higher with the warning that they are "hard to find".
Don't tell the shop you are looking for a windshield that's hard to find like I did, gives them an excuse to sell for more. Just tell them you want a windshield for a 1984 Mazda RX-7, like it was your typical mid-80's Toyota Corolla.
If that doesn't get you anywhere I can call the guy (or you can call him) at Low Price Auto Glass in Norcross Georgia 770-448-3300 and see what he can find. According to my receipt he did indicate a discount from $245.35 retail down to $195 as his sale price for my unit.
Like I said up above, he claims they are getting hard to find but wanted me to put down some money on a second unit at $207, $70 more than I paid at the same shop 2 years ago. I like to have two of everything so I'm going to put my spare unit up in the attic.

Just imagine rolling down the freeway with your mullet tossing in the wind. Your sexy cousin turns up some Lynyrd skynyrd. And you can feel the pulse of the Supercharged 4.3 right behind you....
Actually now that I think about it. Isn't a roots blower kind of like a rotary engine? It uses the same elipoid shape. It compresses air in much the same manner.
Have yall ever heard of the Roles Royce rotary diesel engine? It uses a twin rotor design. One rotor compresses air (like a supercharger) then pushes it into the second rotor housing that ignites it.
