    Hi Ray,
Figured I'd ask you, since you're "local" and have been kind enough to help me so far. I degreased my 12a and it looks all nice and spiffy now. Simple Green = good.

Questions - I'm hoping to have the coolant changed. There is a shop near me that does occasional work on my other vehicles for me. I was going to ask them to change the coolant for me, because they say they can flush and fill with new stuff, instead of reusing the previous coolant. Is there anything I need to be aware of? Any particular fluid to use? I assume a new thermostat should be used, too? Brand?

What brand of oil do you use? I run havoline 10w30 in everything, and that's what I used when I changed the oil recently. Should I keep using that? I'm partial to "dino" oil, but I want to do the right thing.

There is talk that I can remove the sub-zero tank. How do I go about that? Will there be some lines/holes that need to be plugged?

    Hi Ray,

I think we have met. Are you in Jefferson and recently had a silver RX-7 for sale? If so, my wife and I came over to look at it. I found a 79 in South Carolina that I recently bought. I may try to make it to the OGTA get together in August.

On the subject of the wheels. I picked up a set of stock wheels and tires from an 81 model from Sam at Atlanta RX-7. Not the "snowflake" or "waffle" wheels that came on the 79 model, but they look good. I would be happy to have you take a look at the Konigs some time. Wheels and tires are in great shape.

I don't have nearly the expertise or experience you do at working on cars, but I got the RX-7 to drive for fun and learn a bit about working on cars. Perhaps we can work out a cash and help with some RX-7 projects for the wheels.

Thanks Michael and Nichole, it was a lot of fun and very productive having you guys out here yesterday. Hope that carb works and gives you many years of trouble free service. I am back at the silver car, it fired up this morning and after a little hesitation I got it firing on both rotors again, then I just let it warm up and turned it off before it started getting bad again. I'm swapping tires and as you know I need to put some stuff away before I can get the silver car out of its parking place, but this should happen today. I'll let you know how it goes.

    Thanks for the birthday wish!
