Saturdays In Raleigh, Nc
just as an update on the bastard child. the engine is firmly in place. there is a little wiring left, and a couple of fuel lines. other than that
I AM STILL WAITING ON THE DRIVESHAFT FROM HINSON. WTF?!its like a month and a half later.
The wiring and other misc should be done by end of this weekend. so as soon as the driveshaft shows up, she is going straight to the exhaust shop and VOILA! a new beast.

Havent been on this thread for a while. Im moving from a FB to an FD. If anyone local has one for sale let me know. Id prefer one with a blown motor (like the rest of the world) but Ill look at anything including wrecked cars, projects cars, or running daily drivers.
Josh how is the V8 project coming along???

Is it bad that I have the FB parked again...not because there is anything wrong with it but because it's out of gas and I don't feel like paying like 50 bucks to fill it up?

I know you can open the FD window switches and clean the corrosion off the rebuild it. If that's what the problem is for you...

I just got word that my new engine has been delivered to the dealership! Yea for me! They told me I should have it by Thursday. Looking forward to getting her back with my free full tank of gas and a good cleaning inside and out.
Hey everybody. I know its been a while since i've said hello and such but just wanted to drop by and see if anyone's interested in a 87 turbo II. I've got a supposedly streetported by atkins, minor mods(fcd, BOV, S5 turbo?) black w/grey interior, body is ok, dent in front fender, scrape down drivers door, and hood is in black primer. interior needs lock mechanism in drivers door, radio surround and the obvious turbo II parts that go bad. otherwise interior looks decent. motor needs rebuild. drove it home with bad coolant seals and lost an apex seal on the way there. Also needs exhaust, none was included when i got the car. I need money for school and my other turbo II so, i'm asking 1000$ OBO. Also have a 13B-REW with a bad rear rotor, just the block itself, no intake, exhaust ETC. still fully intact. make me an offer.
Hope all of you are well. Sorry i havent been out in forever. been busy along with boost and rotaryless.

I do remember it being single digits. my first post on this board i think was on page 8 in may 04. almost 2 and a half years later, im still hear occasionally. i remember when you could be idle for a few weeks and sit down for about a half hour and read up on everything you missed out. haha! 492 pages?! what? Its crazy. I also remember going to a few meets when there were, maybe 3 cars if we were lucky. I have some really good memories of the old group. I hope i'll be able to come out to some sort of meet sometime this fall before i head back to school in orlando. hell, maybe even bring out a turbo II or II.

Lol irronically, none of my 6 FC's have ever made it to capital except for the red one Steve and i build 2 years ago. I have some really good memories of the old group. Just wanted to say thanks bert, you are probably the reason why im still into rotaries. hell you're probably the reason i have a rotor beatin up a piston tatoo'd on my arm.... - without the writing and a few "mods" -

It ain't a Rotary... but it's been rotated...
Hi Foks...
Here's a few pics demonstrating why Mark VIacco (of THSCC) has the right idea when he asserts that it's a whole LOT safer to be wearing OEM 3-point belts in a convertible W/O a roll bar than to have been wearing full shoulder harnesses...
Driver suffered no injuries due to getting on his head... the only major injuries were from the primary impact to the 5-6 foot embankment and the secondary impact to the trees 'bout 5-6 feet further up... they consisted of one compressed vertebrae and some lesser issues with the middle upper back between shoulder blades, and a very tender sternum and sore ribs... Fortunately the seatbelt and air bag did an excellent job... sternum and ribs were likely the result of the air bag, but well worth it considering the alternatives...
FWIW...

To all RRDI members,
This is Andy, I am the one with single turbo red FD you saw in page 183. Now my project is almost complete, I am considering to ask Steve Kane to tune it but he need to have 5-6 cars commitment before consider come here (more info about Steve Kane):
http://www.rotaryx.com/stevekan/request.html
I have also send out the same inquiry to MSCCNC group as well hope to get enough people to sign up:
http://www.msccnc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1006
I figure 5-6 cars isn't a tough number to meet consider the number of rotories we got in RTP area. If we have enough interest, I will contact them to make arrangement.
If any of you interest get your car tune by one of the best Rotory tuner in USA, let me know!!
Andy

Congrats on the progress!
I think we could get enough people together for the tuning. That would be awesome!

Sounds like he will be having alot of back problems now. That's not fun at all!
Eric, I also have few people express to me that they would be interest for the tuning but need to wait for a while because their project have not finished. I just perfer to do it ASAP since my car have reach to this point now...
Well, for people who can't make this time, you are all welcome to stop by to chat or see how Steve does his work. I just need to find 4-5 more cars to commit at this moment. If I can't get enough commit, I will widen my search by create a thread in SE section for this event.
Perkystina, thanks for your kind compliment. Hope other people who miss last meeting can see it soon. It was a long road to get the car to this stage!
