Glad to hear it, Looking forward to meeting y'all and seeing more rotary cars.

At times it almost seems like a cult, we have the all powerful Apex Seal, we have a secret language and a shared faith in a little known or understood miracle of engineering. Then there is the rotor trinity of more money = more power = more repairs. We can even boast of the different sects of the rotarian brotherhood; the rotarian elders with their RX3s & 4s, the FBs are the purists, the FCs are the realists, the FDs are the dreamers, and the newest sect, the 8s are the neophytes, who like speed and power but crave dependability. They will migrate into one of the other groups as they grow in knowledge and wisdom and as their cars age and begin to demand more of their time, their money and their life. And then there are the infidels who want to appear to be devout followers of the rotarian way but have secretly converted to the dark side and put the abomination under their hoods and allowed it to overtake their souls. But we don't drink koolaid.

See y'all on Saturday at the appointed hour, we'll eat the flesh of the beast, talk in our special tongue and share the faith at the the rotarian temple, known to the outsiders as the Char Grill.

RX3 and Ty, welcome to the area. I live between Wake Forest and Oxford and you're right, not much in Oxford but you are a little closer to Virginia International Raceway, a great road course that's just a hour's drive northwest of you on the other side of Roxboro, NC and Danville, Va. You've got the Raeigh Rotary Drive-In that happens the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month and that leaves you 2 weekends a month to work on your car and take care of the other essentials and your personal life.

This weekend we'll be welcoming a bunch of rotarians from down east, Jacksonville and the Cherry Point area of NC. We'll set up the road trip down to Goldsboro/Seymour Johnson AFB coming up on Oct, 15th for the Wayne County Air Show where the Thunderbirds will be performing.

Looks like a good meet weekend... sucks because I'm giong to be out of town. I'm in for the Oct 15th drive though .

So, I asked this on the rrdi site a while back, but I can't get to the answers until Doug gets the site back up. I need to get a nail removed from my tire (AGAIN... SECOND SET OF TIRES SECOND NAIL... but this time replaced for free with road hazzard warranty ), where can I go to NOT get my rims scratched. So far I'm 2/2 in the 'ding up the rims when fixing tires' category.

Does anyone have an FC trailing ignitor that they can spare? Mine seems to have stopped working. No tach, no timing light trigger and fouled plugs.

what can I say. I am a morning person and do some of my best work before I wake up.

NIC - we can always gather at the Char Grill and caravan down together. How is your engine replacement coming, any word on when it'll be finished?

Bobby, I get all my tire work done up in Youngsville at Ronnie White's Tires. They do good tire and wheel work, I've never had a problem with damaged goods but I don't know about the warranty work and if they carry your brand of tiire. You can call them if you don't find some place closer, 556-6810.

You guys can caravan down from the CharGrill. I'm not making the drive up to make the drive back down. haha

I called the dealership yesterday, they told I should have her back tomorrow. So, I'm taking tomorrow off to go pick her up. Can't wait!!!

wheres josh at? hows the swap coming bud?

rx8 meet at the dragon was kick ***.. i have to say that despite me not being a "part" of the 8 group like i was with the 7's, the 8's definately know how to party and how to do the dragon. The 8's introduced me to night runs, which are worth every fricken second. RUnnin teh dragon at night is THE way to go. The few night runs i ran were the only ones i got that were un-interruped (1 van maybe? definately no ****** harleys), and they definately feel faster too. I got somethin for yall when we go again in april, and i cant friggin wait..

that and the fact when we go in april ill have something capable of runnin with any 7... (yzf-r6 anyone? ;-) )

well i also got a suprise for you guy saturday night, so if anyones interested ill be there around 7:30

if somoene brings a laptop i got lots of footage from the dragon!

see yall saturday

Couldn't have said it better myself. So dark... so fast... so furious... wait...

Thanks for the info bert. That shouldn't be too far away from me actually. The warranty is through tirerack.. more like a reimbersal program. I get the work done, submit the paperwork, they give me money back so any shop should do. I will check them out.

My car(s) have an input jack in the stereo, and should get plenty loud enough for everyone to hear. I'm not 100% sure I'll be there this Saturday, though.

Well, all...I finally got the 8 back from the dealer. They tried to talk me into buying the '06 Shinka they had on the lot, a regretfully declined due to the fact they weren't willing to drop a few grand off the sticker, ohwell. Anyways, the new has definately alittle more pep. Also, it has different note...it doesn't sound like an Indy racecar in the upper RPM range and it has more pull in the mid range. They also put new coil packs in, changed the oil, installed new plugs and wires, instaled new A/C controller, washed inside and out, filled her up with gas and told me to bring it back in a couple of months to have the Master Tech look over it again to make she was still doing OK. I have to say Brown and Wood Mazda will always get 2 thumbs up from me in the service department. But it looks like I'm headed to Millenium Mazda to buy my new 8 next year! See ya'll tomorrow.

Whats up,
Nic, glad to see the dealership delivered.Im going to try to make this weekends meet. Im thinking about bring down "princess" she need to get out more and let her hair down.

My latest addition to "Tiffany" is a Turbosmart e- boost controller , I'm stilltrying to set it up but its a pretty trick item. You actually program when to start opening the w-gate, so as to build boost faster.

Im still collecting parts for the REW swap This fall project may turn into a spring project, Its hard to bring myself to dismantle a running car.

See you guys tomorrow ( hopefully)

Johny

Yes, I notice a huge difference in the low/mid power range. And yes, I was thinking about trading in for a closeout '07 Stormy Blue Mica GT (that's one of the new colors coming out) around this time next year.
