I thought you guys had leet rims already?

there are two reasons for me. 1) project: twins 2) one day i want to have two sets of wheels/tires (track tires & street tires). I guess i could do it on my stock wheels, which are lighter, but with the added torque of the LS1, I need more tire in the back than the stock wheel width can handle.

oh, and i am going to let you slide on the ford escort comment

Sorry. I hang out in the lounge...

Yeah that's why I got another set of the S5 rims. I wanted a real spare and a another set to use as track tires. Problem is... now that I have the rear strut bar in I can't get as many tires in the car hah! Guess I can just makes things a pain.

You know, some guys mention that our car's value just went up, but I'd much rather see more FDs than more value, especially considering I don't plan on selling it.

Yeah I know I could run 9.5, and when I first got my wheels and put them side by side you couldn't really tell the difference, but I just don't want to get less than I got now, haha. Plus, like we said, you always want to fit as much meat in the back as you can, BWAHAHAHA. Not to mention yes I do want to feel good about myself...girls say size doesn't matter, yeah right! lol

Yeah someone at Rotorsports told me to give him a call, and there is a guy around Statesville, NC that has one with about 66-68k miles for $250 and another guy in AZ has a set with 57k miles for $225 shipped. I haven't talked to the guys at Rotorsports yet but both the others have the usual small cracks on the manifold. The guy in AZ has all good reviews in the good guy/bad guy section and the guy here in NC has no reviews.

Nic, I looked at the cutoffs and put my info in the calculator...looks like I'll need to make 49s to make Tech this year, I just wonder how I did, haha. And I did a PT test today (kinda tested myself) and ran an 11:32, not as bad as last year but not as good as when I first got here, so I'm still shooting for higher. I didn't do pushups and situps cause I forgot what the time limit was, haha.

are you thinking 18s? i think i am gonna bump to 19s. i guess this is all in the future. just wondering what your thought is.

i do like a lot of meat in the back, but don't think i need more than 295mm hahahahahaha if i can get a 10inch wheel, that i like, i will, but don't think i will sweat it. These will be more like pimpin wheels than action wheels, anyways. That is why I think I will go to 19"

i would PM you these questions, BUT YOU WON'T CLEAN OUT YOUR INBOX!!!

Actually I'm down to 479 messages right now, got it cleaned out more last night. So send away!! Up to 21 messages anyway, haha. Yeah I'd still run 18s, just with a deeper lip and more tire, both width and height probably. I've thought about 19s, but for one I heard tires are expensive as hell for 19 cause it's such an odd size, and two, they just look too big. I've even thought about 17" Fikse like Rich has on his, those are so hot!!! LOL So expensive too though, and these are inexpensive and hot, so my choice has been made. I REALLY want some Volk TE37s, but if they're just gonna get messed up I'm not gonna spend that much money on them. My reason for wanting 10" or higher is two fold...looks AND performance. I love a wide tire on the rear, LOVE it.

That's right P-Rod, it's G14 classified, a secret squirrel project. If I get orders soon it may never come to fruition though, LOL.

BAHHHHHH!!! tires are only like $50 more / each. wait that is $200 hell that is almost another 18" tire. haha(I wouldnt lose sleep over it though). I agree that if you can get the 10" to go for it. I just wouldn't let the half inch limit me from getting a wheel i wanted. know what i mean vern?

As far as looking to big, it depends, it kinda goes both ways for me. sometimes I wish I had more wheel on my car, sometimes i think it might look silly. I guess I will decide when the time comes. Seems like all the wheels i like don't even come in 18, at least not in the widths i want.

If that happens let me know(not that i think you wouldn't, just saying). I will make up the difference myself. We don't have to be in the same state for it to be complete.

By the way, Stina and David, the Illumina shocks are AWESOME.
I know!! they are great right now in the trunk for weighing down the rear wheels in the SRT-4... wait...

For me it's more about just being too big. I was gonna get 19s for the Prelude at one point, until I got the 7. Yeah I may go ahead and get them if they are only up to 9.5, if I can't get 10/+. I have noticed alot of wheels I like don't come in 18 anymore also, but I still don't wanna go 19 even in those cases. There are times when I wish I had more wheel too though. If I got a huge kit to where I couldn't drop the car to a certain point, then I'd get a bigger wheel to fill the wheel well, but my 18's are working right now, I am pretty happy with them actually, I just wish the rears had more lip. There are some Tenzo wheels I like now but they're only to about 7.5", not even close to what I want.

"Know what I mean Vern?"...wow, I haven't heard that in YEARS!! Too bad he's gone now

We'll see what happens. I just figured it wouldn't have the same effect if we weren't nearby, haha. I'll keep you posted.
