Be careful, the Burlington PD seems to hate the FB. Or maybe they just hate mine. I get entirely too much attention from them in that car, and I get none in the Miata.

I have mine back no the road too, maybe I'll see you around sometime.

Thanks Nic, I really appreciate it. I'll sleep on the floor, and chip in of course. That's if I can't get my own room by then.

I'll just have to watch myself then. I do a pretty good job anyway. It's a bit loud but sorta blends in because of the color.

I'm up there every other weekend or so to mess with it.

Iron Horse (Little Bar) Directions

For those coming out to the gig after the meet Sat night who needed directions:

Leave from Char-Grill and get to I-440 however you like. Take the I-440 S OUTER BELTLINE toward Crabtree/Cary/Apex/Sanford....

After you pass South Hills Mall (Cary) take the US-64 W via EXIT 98B toward Pittsboro. Will be about 10 miles from when you past Crabtree.

After taking the US-64 W exit about 7 miles later you will pass the Little Bar on your left. Next light make a U-turn and head back, entrance is right after the bar into a dirt parking lot. Don't hit any bikes, we'll be outside in the back playing or inside drinking, can't miss us.

I wanna go! I think it would be cool if we could all roll out of the meet together and show up to continue the meeting and watch Greg play. If he can't make it to the meet, maybe we can make part of it out there?

Oh boy dirt parking lot and bikes, that is a lot of fun and just too tempting but unfortunately I'll be working this weekend 4PM to Midnight. Won't get a chance to throw some gravel. Y'all have fun and becareful out there!!!

We can officially get our 8s repaired now. Clicky for Recal PDF's.. Looks like we are in line for new spark plugs (right in time for my 35K replacement :-D), free car wash, interior cleanup, fuel top off, PCM recalibration, rental car, engine test, and extended warranty to 5 years, 60K. Looking at the 'how to determine if new engine is needed' diagram, I doubt any of us will even get the test. Don't forget to ask for your rental! I wonder which dealer around here participates in the MCode program where they loan out CX-7s.... hmmmmm.... southern states will probably stick me in another sunfire.... calling capital mazda hahaha.

By the way, Greg's band is pretty good, more of you need to tag along next time he's playing.

On the way home, my exhaust leak came back worse than ever. My guess is one of the nuts that holds the pipe to the manifold vibrated off on the way home. I'm going to locktite that bitch...

Thanks for the info Bobby...I looked though the diagram and I may have a legitimate claim for a new engine. I have previously brought it in twice for low idle and power loss, both problems call for engine replacement...but I guess I'll just have to see what the dealership says.

I didn't know you took it in for engine problems before but now that I think about it I do remember you saing something about power loss before. Sounds like you go directly to new engine.

That's what I noticed, it says if you have noticed power loss or had low idle and the engine has not been replaced, to order a "new" engine. I kinda like my odds but like I said, It all depends on how much the dealership is willing to work with me. I have never had issues with Brown and Wood before so, maybe they will be just as helpful this time.

For those of you that missed the Drive-In last night, you missed out! We had a decent turn out...the FB's were in full force and there were a few FC's running around and of course me and Gary were there with our twin TiGray's. Also later that night we had a special guest come by and visit with us for a bit...the owner of a one off special build Ford GT!!! Eventhough, it's not a rotory...that has got to be the sexist car I've seen first hand. I guess we'll see everyone at the end of Sept...and I'm sure myself and Gary will have a tons video to show off of our trip to the Gap. Everyone be safe and rotor it up!!!

Are the RX8s really starting to have engine problems? I was hoping that the engines were going to be a marathon runner of the rotary engines next to the 12A.

I personally have had no major issues with mine but some people, Nic for example, are seeing some power loss and idle issues. I think most 8s wont have their engines replaced, only the flash and new sparkies but we will see how many 'i got a new engine' posts show up on the rx8club. Since the rx8 was introduced in the US, mazda has been tinkering with the PCM. I've had mine flashed 3 or 4 times in the past 2 years. To me, it's normal hahaha. For Mazda's sake and the future of rotary, the rene needs to be a marathon runner.... I'm hoping this as well. Good thing mazda is trying to tackle these issues and pampering us while they do it hahaha. Nothing like free gas to make us overlook the severity of the recall hahahahaha.

Oh, I thought Eric had gotten some of those see thru Michelin tires. Yes, I like the rims. How much you gonna charge for us to see them on the car?

Have a great time in the mountains, and be careful up there. If you haven't seen the movie Deliverence lately you might want to review it before you head to the mountains. Just don't stop along the roadside and go tromping off in the woods looking for Ma Nature's latrine and you should be OK. See y'all next month. Just remember we're planning on coming down th SJAFB for the Wayne County Air Show in October.
