Old guys with 12As club meeting
Has anyone ever had a problem with their windshield wipers on a first Gen? Mine have been working very slowly for a awhile now. Yesterday they just stopped working while driving in the rain. I got them to work just now but they are still slow. Fuse was good. Is this a problem with the motor or the combination switch?

Replacement Fuel Pump
You guys seem to be the go-to group for information relating to 12A RX7s. I have an 85 GS with the stock Nikki Carb and I am looking for a replacement fuel pump. I'd like the pump to mount like factory and have the same performance parameters as the factory pump. Would you happen to have some suggestions?

I've used the carter pump with good results,

The carter unit will mount into the stock fuel pump cradle and hook up to the plumbing without modification, however because the carter pump has a smaller diameter than the stock unit you will need to adapt the stock tie down strap by adding some kind of spacer around the carter pump so that it's held securely.
The stock cradle is mounted to the chassis with rubber insulators, so you don't get that annoying fuel pump chatter like you do with aftermarket pumps mounted to the frame rail.

Rock Auto has them:

Do you need a FPR when using the cater pump? I'm thinking of getting a new one just because I'm assuming the one I have is the original pump.
I wanna stay ahead of the problems before the happen.

I don't think a regulator is necessary at all, the carter should be putting out pressure right in the stock range of 3-3.5 psi. Just swap out the old pump for the carter.
I'd save the old pump though, sometimes those things are still working fine and something else is to blame for the fuel delivery problem.

Thanks Ray for the tip. My pump is working ok (for now I hope I didn't jinks myself:-/ )I just took a trip to Clarksville TN with it and thought I heard some noise from the pump so I wonder being a 30year old car that it might be time.. Oh and can you guys believe that I got 27mpg with the A/C on!!.:-)
If you're getting 27 mpg and are happy with the performance I wouldn't touch that fuel system.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
But if you do get curious, do the diagnostic on the pump, it's easy.
Disconnect the inlet line at the carb and first check the pressure, it should be 3 - 3.5 psi.
Then check the volume. You should collect 1400 cc (about 1.5 liter, or 1.5 quarts) in one minute.
To make the pump run, you can either put a jumper across the fuel pump cut relay and turn on the ignition switch or just start the engine and let it run on the residual fuel in the bowls (easier, but probably not the safest method).

Anyone happen to have a good GSLSE TPS laying around? Paul can get me a used one for about $60, figured I'd check with y'all before I pull the trigger.
Also, just picked up this blue 1 1/8" front sway bar(paint appears original). Anyone know what brand it is?

I know it's not ST, RB, or Eibach because the bends are different. Maybe Addco(but they are usually nickel plated or Black) or TWM(I know their springs were Blue or Black)? Can't find any pics of the either of them.

I've successfully traced the windshield wiper problem in my 1st gen to the combination switch. I'm going to need some spare parts. Does anyone have a combination switch for a 1984 Rx-7 that they can spare?
