Old guys with 12As club meeting
Yeah. What happened to Stu? For a while there I thought Stu was trying to corner the market on rotary cores. Now he is jumping on a V8. I think he may need an intervention of some kind.
We better hurry up and get a trip planned to NC before he buys an F150 or something.

No v8 for me, just something to turn around for more rotary money

When's your birthday, Jeff? You might be able to squeak by with an 85 with an early birthday. I thought Tim's mystery buyer would the the kid at work. Are you willing to consider an FC for the sake of the steering? Otherwise, you'll have to beat the budget by $890 (sales tax) in order to slip the steering kit in. Good luck, but it sounds tight. It definitely puts my 85 out of the running, anyway.
The kid at work bought an accord. Granted, he's not happy about it, but he just needs a car to get through school. It does look clean though and it was cheap. Still.....
Unfortunately Jeff's birthday is close to mine, which thankfully isn't for a while.

Crit, I have a completely straight plastic grille piece I'm not using if you want it for your for sale GSL-SE so it isn't droopy.
(I want to be a part of those OGTA guys who give away parts when someone needs them, it's made this one of the best communities to be a part of.)

Heck yeah, man. I'll even take a page out of your playbook, bring a screwdriver with me, and I'll change it in the parking lot. Thanks.

You wouldn't want to go all out and get this? Costs half a mil, seats two, and 0-200 is in only 10.15 seconds.
I'm considering buying Crit's car, but I need it to pass emissions. I know there's several different options available, one of which is seeing if anyone here has a cat that i can borrow for the emissions test.
DO IT. it's a sweet car and we need to keep it in the area. another SE driving around ATL.
cat questions...
are there 1 or 2 cats?
and
would this work?

There are 3 cats. My car's got the first two premonolith converters on it, you'd just be looking for a main converter. If you jump on another car, I can loan you those cats too, if need be.
Because that cat has an air inlet, it can likely be hooked up to a stock air pump, but I'm not 100% sure. There are guys in the 1st gen section that understand the chemistry and rotary-specific needs of the whole emissions game better than I do.
You can always try pullapart - they've got two FBs on the yard right now, and their converters would bolt in if they're still on the yard.
-- Edit --
One more thing. From the exhaust manifold back, the 12A and 13B exhaust systems and emissions are the same outside of a few exhaust hangers for automatic cars, and the backpressure tube for the aux ports on the SE. You could always wire the aux ports open and run a Summit cat, tap the Summit cat with a handmade pressure tube (that's what the 85 has - not hard) and retain the aux ports, or just run the cat untouched with no aux ports, and swap it once you've passed your test.
In any event, an FB only has to pass once, and only if it's an 85. Maybe you don't want to have stinky exhaust or contribute to global warming, but that's what Hybrids and Hondas are for.

i met an old guy with a 12a today. he's here in lilburn with an 84 gs. his name's wes. i'm gonna try and get him out to the ogta meet on tuesday as i think i'm gonna be there. i might not be able to drive the SE though as the paint shop still hasnt finished my fenders and it still looks like this:

i might be able to drag the new green one down there though for this meet and get the SE finished for the next one. we'll see.

"Ray, what's going to happen to the OGTA if the OG doesn't have a TA?"
Yur right Stu, screw the SE, I'm sticking with my GSLs. Thanks for the slap.
About photos, a picture is worth a thousand words. Except this one:

Kin you try that again Ben? Love to see the se.
And yeah Colin mint alfas are right up there with us 7's and the Lotuses. Let's see the pics.
