Looking for a daily driver that may become the kids first car. Anybody know of anything? Looking at around 2-3k.

Protege5 or Mazda3.

Safer and there's a back seat for friends.
Excellent handling.
Excellent gas mileage (I routinely get 38 mpg in my M3 hatchback).

You'll like all those features for your daily commute. And the kids will like them too.

As much as I hate to admit it, I would buy another 96+ Nissan Maxima. The engines are reliable and they have nice interiors. Preferably a 01+ SE with a manual http://atlanta.en.craigslist.org/sat...559784403.html

I second the Protege. I learned stick on one and I thought the driving feel was pretty awesome, the 2 liter has plenty of power for a daily and some trims came with disk-brakes all around which is nice. I'll be heading up to Lawrenceville from Statesboro to visit family sometime the next few weeks, are you guys having a meet any time soon?

I should be there too! Just deciding which one to take. Depends on weather I guess.

I think the official start time is 7:00, but the cool kids start showing up around 6:30.

Any chance of a visitor from Jefferson, GA for August meet?

It depends on what Billy buys his kid for a daily driver.

If he gets a Maxipad like Brett's, I'll never attend another OGTA meeting.

On the other hand if he get's an MP5, I'll be wanting to talk with him about upgrades.

Thanks guys and gals. Felix is a cool little man.

Billy - My Miata will be going on the market soon. Kind of taking my time listing it because I love it so much. Body has some small dents and scratches, but mechanically it's good to go whenever you want. My break even point is slightly higher than your budget, but we may be able to work something out if you're interested.

Datsun's are fine Brett, but not on a 12A thread. It's gotta be a Mazda at least!

Ray, I have seen Flipper a bunch of times, you didn't get any of these upgrades with Flipper. Well, maybe the old white guy option.

On a rotary note, I just got this picture from the guy who bought my GSL-SE, not much has changed but he's got some old school 4 spoke Enkie wheels he's getting refinished for it, very cool...

All three generations. Very sweet. We need to meet this guy.

Is that oil leaking out of the FC?

If it isn't, something's wrong. An FC doesn't not leak oil :-)

Yes, once when I was bragging my 7 wasn't leaking anything, someone who shall remain nameless (Billy), told me I was out of fluids...

I think they'll need to do a blood test Mike, we can discuss at the meeting tonight.
