You're right, Ray (as usual). The 12A Equivalency Board is acting like Republicans. "No new taxes - I mean 12A points."

So here is the question, if a complete FB is worth 1 point, how many parts do you have bring to the meet to get a 1/2 point? I'm thinking a complete set of LE rims and 2 rotor housing should be enough for 1/2 point. Just throw those parts in Flipper, come out to the April meet and I'll work with the 12A Equivalency Board.

I was thinking more like 1.0 12A's for a complete set of LE wheels in great condition, 0.5 12A's for each decent 12A housing and 1.5 12A's for Flipper and the SkyActiv technology, which has reinvented the automobile as we know it.

Shoot, even the new Corvette is a Flipper spin off. The OGTA's need to accept the inevitable.

Get this by the 12A Equivalency Committee and Tim to the April OGTA meeting and I'll be there.

Hell, Ray, if a set of wheels is worth a whole 12A point, what is a complete running FB worth? 10 points?

You haven't been hanging out with the goats again have you?

Now Mike, calm down. This isn't just any set of wheels. These are extremely rare LE wheels.

The Ultimate Statement in FB elegance.

FB's are a dime a dozen. But right now, you couldn't buy a set of LE wheels even if you wanted to.

Very rare. Worth one 12A Equivalency at least. Wait till you see the complete set, cleaned up, you'll see what I mean.

I just checked and my final exam schedule only shows one on 1 May, so either my other classes aren't having them, or it'll be a surprise.

Also, my ball joints came in today. After I get those struts it'll be time to tear down the SA.

What does that mean? Challenge accepted, Ray.

My money is on Donnie in the great RX-7 build off competition. Ray has lots of parts, but not very many are actually bolted together.

April 2 is the next OGTA meet. I'll see you there, Ace

Donnie, I can bring those struts and spindles into Atlanta next week (see pm) or if it would be easier deliver them at the May 2 OGTA.

I won't be bringing an FB, they're too common these days. But I'll bring along my LE wheels for those who have never seen them before to have a peek.

Thanks for the support, Mike! Then again, it's kind of an unfair race. My car should have been running this whole time, but Ray is doing a ground up rebuild. If he beats me, then the local market will be flooded with a lot of free RX7 parts.

Since Ray and I are meeting next week, I should be able to get the SA apart and back together in time for the meet. Mr.Wankel will finally make another appearance.

Ray, I haven't ever seen LE wheels, and I am interested in checking them out. Any other cool parts we can look at? You have plenty of room in that Skyactive.

I'll bring some clean 12A rotor housings too, plus a mint red leather steering wheel and a never-been-installed red shift ****, all very exciting stuff.

If the 12A Equivalency Committee isn't impressed, well that's all I can do to enlighten them.

Holly, My wheels look kind of like LE wheels but they are actually made by ARE.

I just got back from my lonely 12 hour road trip to Texas in this beauty,

Hey guys,

I met Greg a month or two back when he bought my 12a and he told me about your little "club" My little club, the Clemson Sports Car Club, and we're putting on a "little" shindig in Greenville on April 20, Clemson Motorsports Festival. It's a combined car show and autocross that will be held at Greenville Tech. I believe you guys are mostly based out of Atlanta (right?), but if y'all want to get a little group together and show up with 10 or more rotaries, everyone will get $5 off entry, and your club (whether that's OGTA or rx7club.com) will get some recognition. If you're interested, check out ClemsonMotorsportsfestival.com, post over here https://www.rx7club.com/se-rx-7-foru...le-sc-1026106/, or pm me for info. I hope to see a strong rotary showing out there, our club owned autocross car is an FB!

I've still got a bunch of housings if anyone wants to come look at them... otherwise they're all going to scrap. I don't really know enough about them to look at and tell you whether they're good or not.

I can't believe there are 12A housing left out there. I thought Ray cornered the market on those.

LOL! i ran across his CL ad long before he posted here. compression was really good spinning it on the starter. it's an old school 12a with the framed MAZDA script like the 13b in my 7. been looking for another one since the one in the white car i bought decided to loose compression on one rotor face on front rotor. had to wait a few weeks for good weather but got them swapped. then the next good weather weekend me and bill took it up to the mountains. ran great. gotta get back up his way to check out other stuff he's got.

From the 09-04-07 archive:

"SEs are considered experimental RX-7s. Although fitted with the less reliable fuel injected 13Bs, they are considered a 1st gen in spirit. Therefore:

1 SE = 1 1st gen

The fuel injected, turbo'ed, overweight porche-imitation 2nd gens still have a rotary engine, albeit a 13B, so they are also counted towards the Record:

2 2nd gens = 1 1st gen

The degenerate, twin-turbo'ed luxury 3 rd gens also get credit:

3 3rd gens = 1 1st gen

Genuine '83 LE wheels are incredibly rare and therefore worth 12A credit while off the car:

1 decent set of LE wheels = 1 1st gen"

From the 12-08-07 archive. More than half of these folks are likely to be at the 04-02-13 OGTA meeting 5 years later:
