Yeah, ya'll should come to that meet Sunday. You'll get to see me- won't that be enough?

So here's a few pictures of the FB- sorry they took forever, and I haven't done everything that I planned to do, but the girlfriend left for college in Valdosta this afternoon and I've been trying to spend some time with her before she left. But here they are. Notice the empty spot where the a/c was, the pile of crap that came off, the new S4 alternator (my S3 has an S4, and my S4 has an S5 ), the better quality drivers seat that was recently sewn up but still needs a good cleaning, the maroon visors, steering wheel, and floormats, the hatch that holds itself up, and the S2 armrest modified to fit in there perfectly (with it's useless switches). I still need to swap fan shrouds and something else that I can't remember now. Off to work!

I was not completely serious. Have you actually tried it before Ray?

Yes Billy, I've used the propane torch to fine vacuum leaks lots of times before, I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier.

Brett what you are forgetting is the idler arm bushings, which are about to fall out of your car, creating a serious safety issue. The interior looks great, now spend $20 and fix the idler arm before you find yourself going straight when you need to be turning.

I must agree, the red sun visors is a nice touch, along with those red mats that Crit gave me and I gave you, which gives him deed to the AC stuff.

I try to keep two of everything.

So I tried the propane torch and for some reason it didn't work this time, might be the torch, might be my memory. Anyway the starter fluid worked fine, here's the video, I think it might be a block off plate.

Has anybody ever seen this one? It apparently has something to do with the White One's demise, since the rotor came out of the dizzy from that car.

So it wasn't the block off plate, I redid that and no change with the starter fluid test. Now the starter fluid is indicating the shutter valve area. I'll go after that in the morning.

Turns out the rotor button explosion was caused by short out of the trailing plug in the rear rotor caused by a piece of the apex seal lodging in the plug, setting off an arching situation.

That plug hole got so hot I don't think you can put a plug in it anymore. Is that cool or what?

Glad to hear it wasn't the blockoff plate. I hate to think I created the problem.

So if the the if the rear rotar was not firing, is it possible the the engine is still good?

I konw it did not sound like it had compression, but it might be worth putting a compression tester on there for the heck of it.

Oh on second thought. I think that the rotar button is divied up by leading and trailing not front and rear rotar. So you probably only lost the trailing plugs. The leading plugs were firing off the 2GDFI. So I guess the engine still does need the rebuild.

I'm going to be around your place soon when I work for that guy near you again, so I'll have it loaded up by then. It'll probably be a few days though. Thats cool I've actually got something you want since it's always the other way around with everyone... good good.

I haven't driven the car in a good week, and I can't until I register it, so I'm playing it safe in the FC for now. But I know I've really got to get that. I get my check Friday, so I'll have money in the bank to hit up Mazdatrix or somewhere cheap for that. Anyone know any cheap sources for that piece? Rockauto, maybe?

So wait- does this mean the white one could run again with the same heart? Or am I confused?

Well well, rockauto had just the bushings for 14.19 shipped, and I had that much in the bank, so I've go a new set of idler arm bushings on their way to my house. That's all for the night

"Does this apply to all OGTA members?"

Sorry Dave, this one applies to founding members only. Michael the Younger has the engine from Kevin the Elder's Turd still, it's actually a running core, I think he's looking for about $100 for that one.

I'm thinking a nice mild mannered 13B for the White One, maybe with EFI or something exotic like that.

You feeling OK Ray? EFI..? Never thought I would here that from you. For what it's worth, having a carbed and 2 FI 7's.... Stick with the carb if all you are thinking of is a mild streetport. I am daily loosing my affection for EFI. Really a pain to tune on the quick without the proper PC Software etc..

Nikki For the win!!

Understood about the founding fathers, I will only drive down there for a free engine. Plenty I can snag for 100 bones up here in my area. Not sure on running or not though. We'll see. GSL rear axle set-up comes first And Billy's full bushing kit.

Anyone that fishes should bring this little girl with them next time

Actually Dave, you are right, I am feeling a bit confused. I think that nagging vacuum leak in the Silver One is compromising my thought processes.

Anyway my half baked idea about the 12A in the White One is that it is toast, maybe rebuild potential, maybe not, but not something I am counting on (and not something I'd foist onto another OGTA member, thus my joking about Mike pulling the motor).

I think the best thing in the end will be to offer the White One's 12A up to the Rotary Gods and see what happens. Perhaps if enough OGTA members follow my lead a newly rebuilt 12A will be delivered, then we can decide whose car to put it in.

Is this making any sense?

That's the sign of the Devil or the Trilogy, I can't remember which. Let us know if anything good (or bad) happens to you today.

Oh wait, I got post number 6666, not you Crit. No wonder nothing is making any sense any more.

Wow! I think a flying rotor hit Ray in the head. He has not been himself since the White one blew the other week. Where is our boy blue?

And, what happened to the rebuild that was supposed to happen at ZoomFest? hmmm. I'm all for the OGTA rebuild and bbq.

Happy Birthday Mr. Colin, must be nice to be nineteen.

We got a community rebuild if Michael donates the 12A from Kevin the Younger's Turd to the 12A core pool in exchange for a Saturday afternoon Nikki rebuild, with benefits.
