Hey Kevin, being a Yankee don't come cheap.

Basically Mike, 1 12A = 1 12A. We learned this in graduate school.

13b's count as 12A's because they are experimental 12A's. Except when they are installed in FC’s, FD’s and other Mazda products that weigh too much and have too many electronic devices, in which case their value is depreciated accordingly.

LJ, I think we've got an Oldest Old Guy Award somewhere, I'll check. You and I can compete for it, unless Holly brings some of her real old Old School buddies.

Looks like we might have a lot of new FB's at the September meeting, including the Silver One:

Stu, you can buy me a Senior Coffee anytime.

Kevin I am the one that had the white GSL-SE that you were looking at. I spoke with Bren today and he told me that he helped you solve some of your problems. What other problems do you have? I am sure we can all help you!

Heh, those are great Roland. Now only if the Kevins think so.
Then we have Double L and Single with the Collin and Colin.
No other Holly's are allowed, except maybe the Holley carbs.

Truth be told, I was intimidated by what they were doing and felt like I could use a little practice before embarrassing myself in public. Also, I kind like getting 60k+ out of set of tires.
Mike I was there from 2 to 3 and was feeling the same way. It has been a long time since I drove anywhere near that way. That and I have no helmet to fit my thick skull. I'll have to start looking around for one. It was fun watching those guys get with it.

Sorry I missed you Greg. I did not get there until after 4. Being that I am inherently cheap, I just don't know if I can burn up a set of tires like that. But, it did look like fun.

A few years ago I bought some used DOT approved Yokohama race tires that would have been perfect. Besides the helmet, I need to get those mounted on the other set of X-wheels I have. Jeese, something else to do.

So my idler arm bushings arrived this morning and I went off to do some yard work for some people to make a little bit of cash and all was good. But when I was mowing I ran over a yellow jacket bed in the ground and got stung above the eye, so now I look like elephant man. And I'm starting school tomorrow. Damn this ****.

You are not going to impress any women that way Brett. Speaking of idler arms, turns out the Silver One has the same problem your Red One has Brett. I went ahead and ordered the Moog unit with the ball joints, save another repair down the road.

I met Abe today, the guy who bought Chad's silver 83 GSL. He dropped off a pair of nice red velor seats for future use in the Silver One and White One. Hope he can make it to the September meeting, he's a rotor head with racing instincts.

I need to swap out exhaust systems, that magnaflow cat with the borla muffler is way too loud for an old guy like me. It's a shame because it burns really clean with the cat and there's virtually no back pressure, you can use the exhaust for a leaf blower. But it sounds like those racers out on Road Atlanta, too much attention for my taste.

So the Silver One is still a few days off, but maybe next week...

Haha, the eye's going down and will hopefully be normal looking buy class tomorrow at 9.

Out of curiosity, what were you going to do with the exhaust on the silver one that you don't like? I'd assume put it on the while car, but if you want to get rid of it you should let me know We could do another barter thing if I'm still out of a job soon. That is, once we finish that first barter I won't forget, I promise!

Damn the new FB's are coming out of the wood work these days. We look forward to seeing you and the new FB at the September OGTA Quad!

I was going to put the magnaflow/borla exhaust up on the SE parts section for $100, but I'm open to trades and barters. I want you to listen to it first though, no returns!

That's pretty Roland, I want one for the White One's next go around. What is it, one of those Del Horto carbs sitting on an RB intake? What is the advantage of these things other than they look cool and kick out more HP? How do they drive? How's the gas mileage?

Roland, what is the perforated metal shield/tray below the header?
And are those braces for it coming off the intake manifold shield?

Roland I also see that your Dellorto is set up for cruise control. Mine is not, but my car has cruise. Any interest in selling/swapping that attachment?

This is actually Dad's car. It is an SA not an FB! I have not used a carb like this but you can ask him these questions at the next meet.

It is the stock shield from a thermal reactor from the 79 SA. The braces he made coming off of the bottom section of the intake manifold. Dad said he will talk to you about the attachment at the meet.

Ray I get 25+ mpg on the highway with my Dellorto ( not Del Horto ) on
my stock port 12a. If you go streetport you should still see the same.
Spirited driving takes it down to ~17 mpg, with a street port it could go
lower.

The nice thing about these big progressive 2 barrels is that at normal
cruising rpms (3-4k) your mostly driving off of the idle mixture so you can
get great mileage if you can keep your foot out of it. But when they open
up to WOT it really sings. I also have the vacuum advances setup off the
intake and that helps a lot with part throttle response. It gives it a slightly
lumpy idle because at idle its seeing vacuum and advances the timing but
as soon as you tip the throttle that straightens right up.

My setup dynoed with the old RE exhaust setup at 135 whp, thats up almost
50% from stock. I would estimate at the flywheel its around 150 hp. I'd love
to dyno it again now that I have the RB SP setup on there because I think it
flows even better.

Next time I'm down there I'll let you take my car for a spin, then you can decide.

Also if you can get a set of these, they'r even better cause its dual webers.

Tim are you sure you are not getting 25 km/g? You know those Del Hortos come from Italy. The use the mertic system over there.

Mike I don't think the Italians have gone metric yet, they still use those Italian Numerals over there. Tim probably means he gets XXV mpg (or a spirited XVII mpg) which on a Japanese speedo could mean almost anything.

If your getting XII then you are running way too rich. Use your ear and your plugs to get it right or if your a modern boy hook up an AFM and get it to about I think 12.5 for best power and performance.
