Well, if you can get yourself to Knoxville, we'll probably all meet up in the morning and cruise together. At least the ones who are going to compete. We'll probably get there sometime after 9am so be prepared to get up early.

Good luck with that. Try not to get any grass in the motor, eh?? We'll expect a victory post when you get it started! Or alternatively an "Ah ****..." post of defeat.
lol, wow....the autoX is soon eh... time to prep the slicks. After the last run on the dragon ive found that im over reaching the crappy goodyears limits and can do better with the slicks i think, well....maybe after i get them worn back down a bit and toss more of the junk out of the car.
Anyone too openly opposed to my making another cd to blast during the run? Downloaded "Ride of the Valkyries" and I have a feeling ill have an urge to mount a loudspeaker beneath the bumper....

Hmm... I'm not sure what effect slicks are going to have on the classification of your car. Then again, who cares... we know what effect it'll have on times.
exactly, though I think itll bump me up to street prepared or something similar, im just interested in times not trophies.
and jimi....i had to steal this pic and chop it a bit...

I'll mail it to you on CD. That'll be 5 bucks!
So I saw that burnt orange SA again this morning. This time I was in the Cheeto. I figured the guy would have to recognize another 1st Gen, but noooo... he didn't so much as look over! Not even when we got off at the same exit and I revved at him while we were sitting next to each other at the light. What's the deal?

haha for real- I decided that being a car nut is an addiction. I'm really being serious here too, this is Wikipedia's definition of addiction:
"Addiction was a term used to describe a devotion, attachment, dedication, inclination, etc. Nowadays, however, the term addiction is used to describe a recurring compulsion by an individual to engage in some specific activity, despite harmful consequences to the individual's health, mental state or social life. The term is often reserved for drug addictions but it is sometimes applied to other compulsions, such as problem gambling, and compulsive overeating. Factors that have been suggested as causes of addiction include genetic, biological/pharmacological and social factors."
I don't know about you guys, but my expense list for life (from greatest to least at the moment) follows something like this:
1. School-tuition/books/odds n ends
2. The 7- parts (performance and mandatory)
3. Bills- Electric, Water and Internet. Needless to say, there aren't alot of lights on in the house, and our water heater only lasts about 9 minutes for a hot shower, and no one likes cold showers haha so those stay short.
4. Food- I eat as cheaply and healthily as possible. Lots of pasta, sandwiches, and bread. I don't go out...so I can spend more money on the car. Sad, I know.
5. Gas/MMO- I mat it even when I know I shouldn't.
6. Beer. College life. It's mandatory.
But in all seriousness- "...a recurring compulsion by an individual to engage in some specific activity, despite harmful consequences to the individual's health, mental state or social life."
I can't help it- I'm "that guy" that everybody knows is ALWAYS working on his car, I can't even begin to describe the amount of fumes/chemicals/compounds ingested. Busted knuckles/near death experiences (how about the time I had a car fall on me/ or the time riding shotgun back from a drift event where we had wasted our last set of tires-the ones we needed to make it home on- in the last run group, and hydroplaned across three lanes in the rain due to ZERO TREAD) Enough to scare a normal person away from this lifestyle. But I justify it in my mind.
The anger/frustration/adrenaline/sheer ecstasy/triumph/sadness/joy/fear that has been experienced due to a pile of sheet metal, aluminum, and rubber.
The missed work/parties/hang outs/nightsspentuptil5AM/dates/meets for this addiction.
I'm addicted.
