you're right, i never have. i dont care too either. let me also remind that this is east tennessee "Rotary" club. not east tn V8 club. and it is trash, to people who are passionate about the rotary such as almost everyone on this forum.

whats wrong with that fd? it needs coolant seals. and has some faded paint in the tail section. i have seen just the shells goes for 10 grand.

this isn't my 1st 7 *******, the one in my display pic was my 1st one. it was one of the cleanest fb's in knoxville. its unfortunate i lost that one in the rain. the original plan was for me to pull motor out of it and put it in the red one i had, but i couldn't get a title for it. (we all know that story) this is my 3rd fb. and if you knew me at all you would know that i have shared a passion for fb's my entire life, my dad had a '79 growing up and that car attached me to them.

looks to me like you're the one thats ignorant, judging a person when you don't even know them.

and before you try to come back and defend that ignorance of yours, you dont even have to take my word for it.

here are some shots of my 1st and 2nd RX's.

would of been awesome if i could of got a title for this one. it would still be on the road and not in the junk yard.

wtf man? is everyone turning on me? you and hellbent used to be all against it. sure, they may sound mean, and be fast...i'm not doubting that. BUT its like sticking a honda v-tec motor in a chevelle, there are some cars you just don't mess with. people who v8 swap a 7 are basically taking the easy way out. its an Rx-7, not a Px-7.

Its not a turning thing...

Personally I wouldnt do the swap myself. I would BUY a v8 swapped car so long as it still had a stick shift. It'd be something to DD while I abuse the rotary on the autocross course.

automatic is better for drag racing man, thats why the v8 guys use automatics. especially if you're bracket racing, the consistency of the shift patterns is naturally going to be better, and w/o delay. really and truly, the only advantage a stick has over an auto at the strip is weight. and quite honestly...the only thing you're going to at the strip with a manuel trans is eat your clutch away...

never expressed interest in drag racing. doesnt appeal to me in the slightest. Hell the latest issue of "Hot Rod" magazine has a 32 ford in it with a tubular chassis, fiberglass body, and is AWD...That is my kind of hotrod, though ive also been looking into the Factory Five Racing Type 65 coupe.... Pure sex like the FD.

Drag racing was cool back when i was a kid, but in order to win you need fast cars. Making a fast car is easy, and generally eliminates the driver from the equation these days. Road courses and autocross's is where the driver reigns supreme. You can give a great driver a poor car and they will do well, give a great car to a poor driver and they will kill every cone on the course or kill themselves (road racing). So IMHO drag racing is for people who like 10 second rides and no real thrill, not my thing. Road racing/autocrossing is more my thing, more driver oriented.

So with that out of the way, stick will win over an autobox in any other form of racing besides drag, since no computer can decide what gear the driver really wants out on a course.

i have a buddy up here who gave me a drive in his 93 with an LS1 and T56 Trans, it was EPIC, in SO many ways, like you have no idea. it was fast as hell in a straight line and it still pulled corners like crazy.

nah, by DD i meant Daily Driver. Nature of the beast with 'most' automatics is that they can be more fragile than a stick. But I guess its personal preferance really, though until my legs break im going to have 3 pedals and a shift pattern to obey in every car i get from now on...

yep, until your legs break, knees go, and your back is done. that gives us all good reason to stay in shape. i remember i couldn't drive for 2 weeks b/c my i pulled a muscle in my back playing baseball back in high school, hurt like a bitch every time i would try to push the clutch down. and yes...automatics can are more fragile in some cases, and less reliable. ALOT more moving parts, there are several things that can go wrong, and generally in a manual trans the only things vulnerable are the clutch disk and throwout bearing.

yeah...i shredded the gears in my thunderbirds autobox 3 times in 18 months to the tune of 2grand. Told myself that i would never again have a shitty automatic plant the power from any motor ever again, plus the bonus's of being able to push/pull start a car is nice, as well as the deterrent when some lazy theif looks in the window and see's a stick instead of an auto selector.

yeah? jimi took a v8 boy who had an ls1 swaped FC for a ride in the TII on the dragon, and about made him **** everywhere. those v8 boys don't know jack **** about road racing what so ever. it pulled corners huh? are you sure you know what that means? coming from someone who has to intentionally lane cross the dragon and struggles to pull away from a sentra, i doubt it.

relax derrick. i'm not geting on your case. this ******* thinks i'm ignorant...so i'm simply going to show him ignorant i never appreciated geting the blame for that celica crash, me and you were at least 6 car lengths ahead of him when he locked up his brakes and went straight into the cliff. i know i'm not the best driver...but damn, i had no problem outrunning that sentra when me and andy went up there the very next week. andy couldnt even keep up.

I wouldnt say they were that far back, they were definitely closer by the time we got to that section of road, and we ALL knew we fucked up when we came out of that last corner and into the next.

well we had a pretty good gap on him, at least 2 seconds. it all happen so fast i can barley remember. the last thing i really remember was hearing the impact, stoping, and then thinking "damnit, there going to blame me for this, i can already josh's mouth running." i was only concerned about the driver at that point, thats why i immediately ran over to see if they were ok.

Is why I didnt stop when I started to slide too. If i was stopped in the middle/edge of the road then there would have been a 4~6 car pileup instead of 1 in the mountainside.

The intake on that is 100% custom, as any NA intake setup on a 20b is.

Ordered my calipers tonight so they might appear by next week it looks like. May or may not be a participant @ the walters state autoX unless I co-drive someones car, or my quest makes it back before friday.
