I never actually created a build thread.. I did do a turbo swap writeup on the work, but it hasn't made it onto the forums yet. I sent it to Brett for his website, but haven't checked if it was posted there or not.

Brett has a website? Is there a blog? I've been gone too long. It's good to see you back, Collin - let's catch up when you're in town next.

BTW, happy National Day of Prayer, everyone.

Crit, later this year I'm actually moving back to Georgia. Not to Jefferson.. A bit farther away in Watkinsville.

No set date on when it's happening yet, but it's definitely happening.

Obtw Crit! Brett! Thank you for the information you gathered for me. The links to each source was especially helpful and greatly shortened my info gathering.

I never even expected to get one. Just wish I could've made it to the award ceremony to get it in person. But, as it turned out we were right where we needed to be all along. Honestly hanging with the OGTA guys was one the highlights in my motoring life if not my life. I'm Blessed to have made such great new friends.!!

Ok, I now know Brett but I here the name Alex too. Who is Alex? Was he at DGRR? And, what's his club name? Maybe I've seen his posts.

Hoses ordered. Just ordered a decent low boy floor jack too. Still have to get a new set of tools. All my tools stay at work. Jack stands I'll get somewhere local. They're cheap. I'm hoping to pull the radiator this weekend after I get tools. Nobody local does the strip/dip thing anywhere anymore. Carlos said he has a guy near him. I'll ship it to carlos and have him get it done unless I find somewhere in Raleigh. If there are any comments on R&R on the radiator feel free to lay em on me. I'm sure it's straight forward

I'd like to bypass the heater core. At the firewall. Is there any particular type of connection to use there? Straight? U shape?

Btw. I haven't wrenched in a car since my 74 super beetle and my 76 scirocco. So bear with me. I know this hoses thing is kiddy **** for u guys but there's still a right and wrong way to do things. I just want to get it right. It's not like I'm devoid of skills. I'm a 37 year journeyman Tool and die designer, builder. Still old school manual mills, lathes, surface grinder etc. but I've also done my share of Cnc program, set up etc. have designed and built just about everything at one point in my career. Even designed and built many custom machines, fixtures, jigs more than I can remember. So I'm not totally feeble under the hood. Hell if you guys had known me when I had my Tool and die shop I could make machine fabricate just about anything for you. I'm still using my design and build skills for my current employer and one time customer of mine years ago, just a little background for you.

Switch to GM HEI modules. The J-109s are great but impossible to find.

paul, just use a straight piece of tubing to connect the heater hoses together.

thanks I wasn't sure since the one that came off has a severe bend in it where it turns into the firewall.

i thought about running one point to point but Tim suggested I use the originals with a connector in case I ever replace the heater core. Probably a better idea.

If you have a front mount oil cooler then you can just cap the outlet of the radiator. Otherwise, you can cap the hardline coming from the radiator at the firewall. If you keep the heater core in the car but don't use it, put some plugs/caps on the firewall inlet/outlet to keep the critter out.

then I would also cap the the inlet to the bottom of the engine from the exit side of the heater core? In other words I really don't need either hose, from the radiator to the inlet of heater core and I don't need the hose from heater core back to the engine (below the oil filter(?)
