On a side note, I've decided that instead of buying another 2nd car with the money from the BMW, I'm going to get the FC bodywork finished and get a decent full paint job, probably a Maaco one a step or two up from the $300 on you see advertised on TV. I have different bumpers, trim, an aluminum hood, a wrap around spoiler, a front lip, and some aero mirrors that I'll get put on prior to paint. I'm going to try to buy an S5 parts car to help me with cash through this next school year, pay off both of my credit cards, and get a mower since we no longer have my cousin's to borrow.

After Kristy told me that my car looked like crap when it used to look pretty good, I figured that I might as well enjoy the FC and worry about getting a truck once I'm out of school. I don't see why I'd have any objections from you guys

Err, that would be Greg the YOUNGER Brett, not Greg the elder. He's kind of sensitive about that stuff.

Gene's new paint job looks fantastic! Worth the price of admission all by itself. I see he even has those ugly rubber dew hickies on his strut towers. And of course the calipers are painted the correct fire orange.

And the rest of the cars look great too, you just can't miss an OGTA meeting these days.

I don't see any pics of Collin. Did he really show up or was that just a rouse to make me feel guilty?

Great pics, thanks for posting! Anybody got a 12A count?

And I agree completely on fixing up the FC to proper standards Brett. Do one car and do it right, then move on to another project. Speaking of which, here's the current status on my brake job.

So Brett, why did you flip the BMW so quick? I thought you needed 4 door. Sounds
like you made some money from it, so thats good.

I couldn't really afford to change the timing chain/ sprockets/ guides (2 side ones were $100 each). It would have been around $600 total after everything. That's the main reason. I also thought it'd feel a little more luxurious being a BMW and all, but the Maxima I had felt so much nicer. So I put it on Craigslist and sold it after a week, thinking I'd buy a 98+ Ford Ranger, but after thinking about it more my priorities changed. If I really need more than 2 seats or a truck I can just borrow one of my parent's cars.

Now my credit cards are on $0 I'm getting a riding mower sometime soon for ~$350, putting around $700 into the FC, hopefully buying a parts car for ~$300, and saving the rest. Maybe I'll by a cheap car that needs work with my income taxes again and start this whole thing over

I finally finished this, too:

Smart move on the BMW.

I was wondering where all those little baby eels were coming from, then I figured it out - air bubbles.

I think I got the stainless steel brake lines from Mazdatrix:

Please refer to the first page of this thread, wherein the question of who qualifies as an "Old Guy" was addressed in the second post.

Rotary drivers are wise beyond their years.

It's not what's between the ears Tim, it's what's under the butt.

I mean look at Brett. It only took him one week to figure out that BMW was a mistake.

And where did that all that wisdom come from? Fixing up that red FB, of course.

'Course Brett's not 20 yet, so he should get even smarter once he becomes a real Old Guy.

Mthead is a YGTA that needs help with rebuilding his Nikki, or preferably getting one he can rebuild and swap since his NICE, black 85 GS is his daily driver. FYI it was parked next to my car.

And Brett, some day sooner that you thought possible, you'll understand.

It's hard to imagine Brett as an Old Guy. But I guess he is.

Speaking of which. Brett, this is a fantastic picture. You're getting pretty good behind the camera.

Anybody got a 12A count for the July meeting yet? I think the Secretary went on vacation.

And yes I noticed how you've got the fish named from littlest to biggest. Very clever.

Holly, your math always makes me swoon. Nice job!

Just one minor correction, however. That pretty blue car of Gene's is an SA. Worth 1.5 12A equivalents at least. I know, those funny rubber FC strut covers make it hard to tell sometimes.

And I thought Kristy's PrePro had finally reached full 12A status?

Colin, you mean this isn't a mint example of the greatest car in the greatest color combination ever made?

I beg to differ. Can you imagine the fun I'll have with this thing emptying the parts shed, not to mention the living room, into it?

Alex has already confirmed he has a mint 85 gas tank he's willing to donate to the project.

Just wait.

Thanks man! Still no love though? Literally all I need is a new carb or for someone to rebuild mine. If you know where I can get either that would be amazing.

I never thought I'd see the day that Ray corrected an OGTA count giving more points to an FC...

No No No. FC's are so common and those strut covers are so 90's, it's a sports car without a soul.

But Kristy's car is special, it's a PrePro, very rare and dignified with all those FB features still intact.

I'll bet the PrePro doesn't even have those rubber things, that was bling added later when the FC's went into production.

Time to go out and wash the new FB.
