I agree Greg, the hawks make a big difference in stopping power, but in this instance it doesn't help my busted lip. And, you are right, I have seen Ray weaving in and out of traffic on I-85 and if he ever had to stop quickly, he would appreciate the hawks. The hawks give you so much more confidence.

You guys don't own stock in the Hawk company, right? But if they really are that much better, maybe they really are worth 10X the expense.

I'll put the generics in there for now since I own them and continue my research at the July OGTA. Maybe if I can get convinced I'll put down the $140+ for a set and then we can really do an experiment, Hawks vs generics on all new rotors and SS lines.

They sure better be good for that much money.

Holly it sounds like if brakes wouldn't have prevented the busted lip you maybe weren't in the car at a the time, a good thing, we don't want you getting hurt either!

Well, I just cleaned up the SA and her it for her first test drive. Unfortunately, things aren't looking too good for me making the meet Tuesday

Seems like I have some issues I need to address with the brakes, fuel/spark, and cutting my rear wheel studs shorter. I plan on picking up an angle grinder for the wheel studs today or tomorrow around work. I am supposed to head out of town, to Toccoa, tomorrow after work. I am debating postponing the trip so I can work on the SA, but I also think the McGard rear lug nuts I need may be in Toccoa too, because I can't find them at my house

Ugh, this blows. I will keep working on it and see what I can come up with. Hopefully I will still be able to make it out.

Anyways, here is how it sits as of now:

Looking real pretty Donnie, you do good work.

Sorry to miss you for the July meet, at this rate I might be the only one there. Last Reminder, next Tuesday July 5, day after the Fourth:

Which reminds me I need to go outside and put the Silver One up on blocks and do that brake and chassis work I was talking about.

Anyway, there's always the August 2nd meet:

Nothing in 2 days..?

I'm going to try to make it out tonight. Fortunately I sold the BMW yesterday so I'll be in the FC. If I have time I'll look for something to hang from a tow hook, but I doubt it will be any competition for a pair of *****...

Brett if you do go to the meeting do me a favor and bring the camera, the Silver One is still up on blocks so I won't be able to make it. Post up lots of pics for those who can't make it. Thanks!

I'm so disappointed with all these excuses. We have a visitor tonight all the way from Vermont, our very own Collin. I'm sure he would like to see everyone. This is one of the longest distances some have traveled to make an OGTA meet. And he was sure to include us in his busy schedule. The meeting is only once a month and all of our virtual OGTA member depend on the meeting to go on, rain, shine, snow, even when the rotaries are down, or up on blocks. I already got word today that one member will not be driving their rotary out tonight, but they ARE going to make it out in the pistons. That's the spirit we all should have. Come on Ray, we we'll give you 1/10th point for showing up in a piston powered vehicle. Just throw some rotary stuff in it.

Holly

I can't make it tonight. Michelle has me programmed for something else and I cannot get out of it. Hope the 12A count is good and I am looking forward to the pics.

Well now if Collin had gotten off his sweet butt and mentioned that he was traveling all the way down from Vermont to attend the July OGTA meeting you can bet your Sweet Bippy that I would have pulled out all the stops and made it to the meet.

But he didn't so this Howdy Collin will have to do!

The Silver One is still up on blocks, waiting for me to install the new rotors, pads, SS brake lines and freshly painted and loaded calipers.

I also need to do a front end alignment because I put in new outer tie rod ends and adjusting rods.

Might be done later this evening but not in time for the meeting, I fear.

As far as pistons go, last month we had a totally piston-free event, all rotaries, no pistons.

That's the way it should be. Unless it's a '32 Ford or something I won't be boinging it to any OGTA meets.

You guys have tons of fun, have some for me, and post up the pics!

And I'll contribute to the Virtual Meeting by taking pics of my progress and posting them up later this evening.

It was fun seeing some of you guys again... Though, Ray, where the heck were you? lol

By the way, does anyone need an S4 gray dash, or sunroof assembly with the roof panel? I've got both at my house down here, and they've gotta go...

The dash is in decent knick, but the vinyl needs to be glued back down at the edge of the idiot light cluster opening.

The sunroof assembly is good, and the roof panel is black with minimal rust. A touch of filler and a re-spray would make it golden, but if it were me I wouldn't even bother.

Dash $50ono
Sunroof assy. + panel $50ono

706 255 0865 is my cell, texting is the best way to get at me. I'm only in Georgia for a few more days!

Sorry to miss you Collin, don't be so stealthy next time!

Good to see some new blood showing up at the OGTA meetings. Did anybody get any pictures of them?

Or a 12A count?

We're blacking you out, Ray, until you make it to a meet. Not knowing what's going on will drive you insane and you'll have to come out

Just kidding, Kristy got a count. I've got pics but they need to be transferred over from my cell. Soon!

If we don't have real data, that's not a problem. I can make it up.

Here's the 12A count for the July 5, 2011 OGTA Meeting:

3 FB's = 3 12A's
6 FC's = 3 12A's
8 FE's = 1 12A
16 boingers = 0 12A's

Total 12A count = 7 12A's, a nice round number.

Can't wait to see the pics!

Hahaha. That's a great count Ray. I think you showed up anyway and did a count, when we all were getting our cars washed. I'll post up the count tomorrow.

Did you get any more work done on your car?

Actually Holly, I was there, in a virtual kind of way. Remember that spy camera that Tim showed us? Well I rigged mine for remote activation and download and then stuck it to the back of your RX-9 at the June OGTA meeting.

Then I put it to work at the meeting last Tuesday. So now I have the entire July 2011 OGTA meeting on tape, which I was going to post but some of the shots raise some legal issues. Anyway, that's where I got the 12A count from.

And here's how the Silver One looks this morning, everything takes longer than you think it will. But I should have it all back together and aligned by this afternoon, be looking for me out on I85 tomorrow commuting in to work:

It was a good meet. I am glad I got to meet some new additions to the group. I had a nice view of a RX3 on the ride home. I should have my SA at the next meet for sure. I have tracked down most of the problems, just need to redo the alternator set up and hopefully just bleed the brakes

Anyone have a spare alternator? Prefer an FD, but I am working on a budget. Anything internally regulated will do, and an accompanying pigtail will make things even easier for me.

The silver one looks good, Ray! I like how you paint everything, and not just one color, but similar to how it was factory. Very nice.

Here are my 7-5-11 OGTA pictures. I didn't think to get shots of what people had hanging from the rear of their cars, but I remember Greg the elder having a murdered piston from a 350 Chevy...
