Sorry I didn't get a chance to respond to anyone this weekend. I'm sure my reason is understandable. Critz, I will call you tonight if that is cool, I got your PM.

I'm thinking about going over there this after noon and charging up the battery. I know I killed it last time I was trying to get it started. Maybe I will charge both of them, yes I have 2.

That is about it for now.

Time To RSVP

OK guys, it is time to RSVP if you planning to come the December OGTA meet. I have talked with Ray's wife and she really would like to know how many people to plan for and what they are bringing.

Everyone should plan to bring a dish to pass and drinks.

Here is what I need to know:

Who is planning to come and are you bringing guests?

Are you bringing a dish to pass? If so what?

If you can't bring a dish (some are travelling a ways) or if you would just like to, we can kick in a few bucks to defray the cost to Ray and Cathy.

Please let me know by the end of the day Wednesday, if you are planning to come.

Look forward to seeing everyone.

I'm hopefully bringing Mashed Taters...or some soda, but probably the mashed potatoes and gravy.

You could always make Green Bean Casserole. :-P

Okay, we can't ALL bring chips and soda, people..lol Who wants to bring maybe some ears of corn to throw on the grill? Just an idea..

I may be bringing a friend. He will bring something. Any requests?

*Edit* He's got an FC as well, so together, we'll count as one FB.

What To Bring?

OK for those of you thinking of what to bring here are some ideas...

mac and cheese
slaw
potato salad
baked beans
any side dish...

If you are traveling a ways or you just can't get around to a side dish - chips work. Maybe add some dip or salsa.

If everyone plans to bring drinks and half of us actually remember, we'll have pleanty. For those of us who imbibe, beer is cool. Ray likes Fosters and Bass.

Cathy (Ray's only redeaming quality) is planning on hot roast beef sandwiches for everyone.

Ray said he will have the grill fired up so if you want to bring something to cook - have at.

I will get a head count out Wednesday night (as best I can figure it).

Don't forget if you have some parts to sell or trade this will be a good opportunity. Anyone interested in a complete set of steel wheels with center caps? Don't all respond at once for these lol.

If you are out of state, you don't have to bring anything, you are the guests of honor. This includes me, I'm in Washington DC right now.

Mike, you forgot to include two mint FBs in my long list of redeeming qualities (that's "redeeming", not "redeaming"; better work on that before your submit that Master's Thesis this week - Hint, when you see that little red underline, you need to try something else).

Stu, you rock.

Looking forward to a rotary weekend.

I'll be there and I'm bringing a tortellini salad (pasta salad) and some old parts I don't need. Oh and an SA.

Stu and I will caravan down from Charlotte.

Since I'm not staying over I'll just be hittin' the water.

For future reference I like Belgium ales and Guinness.

Sensei Ray,

As usual, you are correct. Do you think I can get the web master to put a spell checker on the forum?

Yes I know Mike, I'm always right but nobody ever listens to me. What does Sensei mean, is that a kind of sushi? It comes up on my computer with a little red line under it.

Michael, since Georgia is the Center of the Universe, yes even South Carolina is "out of state". Think "Bulldogs" vs Gamecocks". And yes, we are not very happy with you guys this year.

As far as food goes, please be putting all your donations in your gas tank, you're going to need a few tank fulls to get that Holley'd, street ported 13B FB down here. Can't wait to see it!

I think we should create a new category for SA's, after all they are the Mother of all First Gens. How about if we count one SA as 1.5 FBs?

I'm in. I'm trying to find an FB to ride in and will have a pocket full of ignitors, but they aren't very good without a LOT of salsa. I'll probably have to bring something else for snacking....

I can do better than the chips and drinks I mentioned, its jus tthat a 4 hour long ride in the car, I do not want anything to spoil, and being only 20, I cannot even have any hints of beer in the car at all... I'll think of something!

PMs sent out to TG and rx

So.........I talked to the misses, and I may be rolling down with you guys. I really wanted to drive the SA down, but I may have to bum a ride. I pulled the rear springs today to cut a round out, and bring the back down even with the front. Well.........I noticed oil seaping out the brake drum. Could I be this lucky? Yep, axle seal. I put a new one in, but between the oil and brake fluid that got everywhere, I'm not sure it's quit leaking. So, I hope I can bring the junkyard queen down, and let ya'll check her out .

not sure i know what u mean about the bulldogs vs gamecocks thing unless u mean carolina won. as for the donations in the tank, i actually get decent mileage out of it. which is pretty surprising considering other ppl say they get crappy mileage.

Good news for you NC/SC folks, I was in Charlotte last night at 11:30, on my way home from DC, and pulled in the drive at 2:15 - just short of a three hour drive and an hour less than Stu's 4 hour estimate. Of course I took I85, not the back roads.

Bad 83, I like your Attitude!:

Come on down, bring the SA, and the misses. They count for 1.5 FBs. The SA, not the misses.

Speaking of which (the SA), it is looking like we have a good chance of breaking the OGTA club record of 6.5 12As at a gathering. Let's go for it!

And speaking of the wives, they count for way more than an FB of course. Several are planning a breakout group that will focus on ways to reduce our RX-7 spending habits. A worthy objective, I suppose, but like most break out groups, they are unlikely to accomplish much beyond some high quality venting.

Michael, that's what I mean, Carolina won and ruined our season. Another touchdown in that game and Georgia would have been playing for the national title against LSU. Now they just get to whoop some Hawaiian butt. You should talk with Stu about the gas mileage, he has temporarily swapped out his holley to help with gas, maybe you know something he doesn't.

Remember to bring your unneeded parts for the parts swap, sounds like some deals going down already.

The drought continues and today (Weds) is bright, sunny and warm - good omens for Saturday.

Ray
