Old guys with 12As club meeting
Another reason why I love RWD cars, especially older ones, like the RX7.
This is what I did today. Everyone say hello to my car from 2 years ago, 1994 Toyota Celica. Owner brought it by wanting to get a new starter put in. Toyota charges $390 to do it, so he brought it here.

The starter was well hidden. Since it is a FWD car, it was under the engine bonnet. Where at? Oh, right under the Intake manifold, and right over the exhaust pre-cat. Doesn't sound terrible, but every hose in that car was in my way, and it being an auto, sucked even worse. EVERYTHING WAS IN MY WAY. It took me about 5 hours of on and off (the heat was terrible, plus they towed it and parked it on the nice hot black street), taking the airbox completely out all the way to the manifold, taking off the bottom undertray plastics, and trying to work around the freakin 02 bung.
And of course, installation was a mere 30 minutes. My how I hate FWD.

UPDATE: Summary so far:
Date: Saturday, June 7th, 2008
Time: Officially, we can make the start time 12:00 noon, but Crit will be up there by at least 10 checking out the boat and jet ski, checking the gas on the grill, etc. If anyone wants to come early, you're more than welcome, and plan on lunch around 2:00.
Location Crit's family lake home at Lake Hartwell in Georgia: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...,0.300751&z=12
Ray - Sea Foam and Red Dogs and maybe some GSLs
Crit and Dena - Fuel for the boat and grill, Milk, Brats, Brat buns, extra beer, soda, cheese, onion, Bagels and cream cheese. Sun screen and bug spray.
Marshall and guest (Crit's Brother) will bring Potato salad.
Holly - 5 bean baked beans, cole slaw, 36 Nathan's hot dogs, 48 buns, chocolate cake, ice in a cooler.
Stu - drinks and utensils, paper towels
Tim - homebrew (one bottle with Ray's name on it)
Dave and Elizabeth - 7layer dip with chips, paper plates, some beers BRING ON the Guacamole, if anyone is allergic, they cannot eat it.
Billy - hamburger buns, mustard, ketchup
Greg - hamburgers
Michael - not going to make it now
Tim 2 - coordinate with Crit on anything we need (no Elises allowed)
Rob and fiance (jet ski)
Zach - few cases of bottle water & his own beer of course.
Jeremy - not going to make it now
Any idea how many folks would like to stay the night? It's no problem, but it means that we're now looking for dinner, and maybe a little breakfast for Sunday. There's a corner store that's good for gas and fishing lures, but we'll need to make a 30-min run into the town Wal-Mart or Ingles if we're short on food.
We need a few more things, if people can bring...
more Ice
Cereal or things of that nature (for those who are going to sleep over)..
How about Marshmallows for a bonfire?
THE GA CARAVAN GOING NORTH ON I-85 is meeting at the Cracker Barrell off of EXIT 129 (S.R. 53) at 11:00AM
DID I FORGET ANYONE OR ANYTHING?
Holly

Change of plans. I have hereby been released of my husbandly duties for today. I'll see you guys at Cracker Barrel off of 53 @ 11am, with beer and ice and hamburger supplies (or whatever else I need to bring).
Ray I didn't think you were going to find your way home tonight. With the last minute turn in to the onramp and headed towards Spartenburg.
We were like what the hell is that old guy doin!! Should we call his wife and tell her he got lost!!
Maybe you have a shortcut to Jefferson by way of Greenvilee,..who knows!!;D)
We had a blast everyone. Thanks Crit and Deena for hosting the event. And much thanks to your parents for the use of the house Crit. Awsome time. Pics will come later. I am tired.

I had it covered Dave, been to a lot of OGTA meets.
Here's the report for the June 7, 2008 OG@TA meeting at Crit's Lake House:
Total turnout = 10.5 12A equivalents, not quite matching the Dec 8 2007 total, but some very nice cars and even some really cool people.
From my notes:
6 FBs = 6 12As
2 SAs = 3 12As
2 FCs = 1 12A
Collin and his FC showed up as the pontoon boat docked, raising the count to 10.5 very nicely tanned 12As.
My camera ran out of batteries when we got on the lake, so Stu will be posting the water shots.
Here's what happened on land:
The Atlanta contingency finding its way through I85 traffic:

The cars:

For some reason they made me go last on the way home:

And here we are lost of course:

I had a great time. Jet skiing was a breeze and next time I'm learning how to get on top of that inner tube. I messed up on the way home, followed (or led, not sure) the Carolina boys onto 85N. But I found some really cheap gas ($3.87) at the Carolina/GA border, just what I was looking for!
Thanks Crit, Dena and President Holly!

Hmm, no where to upload a 1.32gb file... I will start posting them tomorrow or Monday. Tomorrow we have the Crossroads meet.
And I forgot to give you one of our cards Ray!
