Someone stole your car, phone, wife, and GPS? I'd think that the wife would be the first thing mentioned, but good for you! How's the single life again?

Seriously, though, I'll PM my phone number to you. We can't have you running around here with your axle housing floating w/o a watts linkage AND a bent axle shaft.

2. get the manny swap and keep the rex
3. sell the rex as it sits and buy a new car
4. get the swap and then sell it and get a new car

Im really thinking about getting rid of it just because i need something really reliable seeing as this is my dd and everything and im not the richest person around
There's a black GSL-SE for sale HERE - you can't go wrong with an EFI FB.

I'm having a bad day. Considering selling Sabine.

Actually, that second part is a total lie. But I'm losing steam on this project again. I'm just getting sick of seeing it sit in my driveway, unable to be driven because of the motor and the shitty rear end that screws the gearing up. Last night I read through the how-to on Lander's site on pulling the engine out of the car...and it doesn't really sound particularly difficult, but it sounds time consuming when you realize that bolts are going to break and/or be stubborn. Crit is very kindly willing to participate in swapping the engine/tranny lump over with me to try and get it done quickly, but I've lost motivation over night. What's the outcome of this? The horrible nagging thought in my head is that this is not going to go near as smoothly as I am hoping it will and I'm going to end up screwed for several days trying to get the car running and driving. If worse came to worse, I could call my friend and borrow her truck that pretty much just sits in her yard but I would rather not have to ask her for that because the last time I borrowed it, I had it for nearly two months. It's bullshit, man. This whole car situation is bringing me down every other day for the simple reason that I am not personally skilled enough to do it myself on my own time because everyone else' schedule has to be worked around. Family, work, money. Speaking of work, it's killing me. I don't sleep well enough (Meaning I do not get enough solid rest over even long periods of 'sleep') to be able to get up at 4am, go to work, come home and have any energy left. I'm pissed at my immediate supervisor because she should've consulted me BEFORE scheduling me for sixty hours of opening shifts.

I seriously believe that if this swap is really going to happen in a short period, I need to have some sort of peace of mind or something to motivate me to kick it off again. Life is really sucking right now.

It's an awful feeling for me when I forget where I parked my car and look out the window and don't see it right away. I can't even imagine how it feels to not find it.

Collin, you know Cindy would't mind if you borrowed her truck for a couple of days. That's much better than 2 months, and it shouldn't take you more than a week to swap motors. The transmission swap took what, 3 days slacking around? You can get it done. I'll help

Speaking of help- I'm totally doing my transmission swap sometime after tomorrow- tomorrow is my last day at school for over 2 weeks, so I'll have nothing but time besides work. I'm thinking of either: swapping them at my moms boyfriends shop with him, doing it myself at my uncles garage with his small amount of help, or taking the car to Collins to do in his driveway. Or if someone local wanted to play with an FC, I'd certainly be up to that as well. I just need to buy a few bearings and some gear oil.

Speaking of buying- I finally got my bank crap straightened. The bank charged another $105 overdraft fee for the three transactions that happend while my account was overdrawn ($35 each). I got my very very impatient grandmother to call them today while I was in school to get them to credit the $105 back, and she bitched them out so much, they refunded the pictures as well. So once the credits go back in and my check from work goes in, I'll have aroud $400... that's the highest my balance has ever been That just made my day...

Finished

Or Crit, why don't you get it. That car is so you and discounted for the piddly little reason that it doesn't have an engine. And it's already on the trailer!

Brett, come do it here. For the next few days Crit has kindly lent me some tools and his impact (Which is the helper, cuz I've got everything but a big impact which blasts bolts off in a blink). Just don't procrastinate cuz short of finishing this swap I don't wanna keep them longer than I have to. It'll mean he won't have the use of them, and obviously that's not good either. Brett, I don't necessarily have to present for you to start working on it. Just put the stuff back where it was and it's cool.

Anyways, Crit came over today and the motor/tranny are ready to come out of Sabine except for the radiator and the exhaust manifold. And that's it. Which makes me happy because the faster I get rid of Grace, the faster I can help keep my life from crumbling. It just sucks that it has to inconvenience someone else in the process on the road to getting back on track (Sorry, Crit )

Anyways. I have to go to bed.

I totally can't understand that. Maybe you're saying that the swap is simple and you just move the old out and put in the new in its place. I think that's what you mean. Anyways, I can bring my handy dandy new impact gun (which was on sale saturday at Sears for only $19.99! ). I looked on the box, and it says that it does 340 ft lb/tq and something like average SCFM @ 90psi: 4.1. Maybe it'll help? I've got a 1/2 to 3/8 drive switcheroo thing for it too.

And I totally played with photoshop eariler...

I'm kinda getting it... lol

Collin - Why are you taking the motor out of grace to put in that other car? It sounds like 'grace' has caused you the least trouble of any car you've had! I'm sure there's a reason, but possibly would it be better to find another motor for 'sabine' or maybe sell her and find another factory silver car?

Ok time for me to rant a bit. Got the car to run/start consistently. Whilst searching for oil leaks under the car (after fixing the omp blockoff plate, one of the primary oil leaks), i found TWO oil pan bolts missing. Just not there. After putting some in, I found 3 others that were barely more than hand tight. So until I put a new oil pan gasket I think the car will forever leak a bit from there (facepalm), but it doesn't steadily come out anymore.

After fixing that, I was going to pull the car off the jackstands to go test out my new injectors since the car now revs free under full throttle and wouldn't before changing them. BUT, I freaked out because my cat was glowing an awesome fiery red color. So i shut her off for the night, assuming that is also one cause of my crappy idle in the car. Exhaust came off, and is totally being changed from the header back. The y pipes on teh car look like they came from an exhaust shop (don't look that bad) but appear to be smaller than stock! Got a racing beat y-pipe with mufflers from my friends backyard and he's going to start cutting/welding to get it all attached to the header and get a resonator in place of the cat so the car will still be mildly quiet. Pretty excited to hear it run after that's all done, along with all the emmisions removal the car should be running strong!

Ahhh I see. Although in the picture it doesn't seem that bad
However, I just checked out a couple pictures of the silver car online and DAMN, I see why you want to keep that one! That silver is such a great factory color.

Hey, Crit has that handle patented already!

Yep Jeffery's on Jan 6th, but this time we need to muscle out those Tuesday night card players and line up the good looking waitresses for our tables.

Maybe I can bring the FD if anyone wants to help put it back together .

On an odd note, my gift of a carbon offset wasn't well received at the company gift exchange.
