Old guys with 12As club meeting
Man if you other Carolina folks are half the rotor heads Stu is I sure will hate to miss that meeting. Any chance of either:
A) having the meeting on the second Tuesday in December (Dec. 11) instead of the usual first Tuesday?
B) having a weekend daytime meeting on Saturday Dec. 8 or Sunday Dec. 9?
About the D.C. trip Mike, we will be presenting data at the American Society for Cell Biology annual meeting that we obtained without the support of the government - support for science in the US was cut off when Bush got elected. But hey, I'm not proud, if you know about any boondoggles up there, let me know, I'll check it out.
Michael, that's no optical illusion, Mike was a football player in college.
From your description of your car:
" '84 RX7-streetported '74 13B ,RB holley 600 carb and intake, RB header and muffler, unknown light weight flywheel, RB street/strip clutch and PP."
it sounds like you have very good taste. And anybody who drives one of these:
"
"
would be a valued OGTA member. In fact we have a rule that 1 RX-3 = 2 12A 1Gs.
Come on down.
Ray
PS James, I noticed you weren't there, did you?
PSS, yeah Billy, I figure if they put up with us (and our cars) for ten years, they at least deserve to be invited to the OGTA get together.

Great Idea, Ray
Hey, Ray may be on to something with the idea of a Saturday meet. If we did a special Dec meet on a Saturday, that would make it easier for those trying to work around work schedules and make it a lot easier for the guys to drive in from outside ATL.
What do you guys think? Has this group evolved to the point where we don't have to meet after dark in dimly lit bars? We could still have beer.
Ray, it is ideas like this help me remember why you have all those initials after your name.

Actually it was Greg's idea, I just stole it and didn't give him credit - you must know by now that's how you get all those initials after your name.
Wha'd ya'll think? Saturday, December 8 at Mike's house?
Michael, sorry that picture of your sweet RX3 isn't showing up any more, it was there last night when I made the post. Can you put it back up for all to see, especially Crit? He drives those things (that's how he fits in his 12A).
Hi Ted, you are the first OGTA member from Hawaii - Congratulations, a pineapple will be awarded at the next meeting. Hope you can make it if you're not too busy.

A Saturday is way better than a Tuesday considering the drive from Charlotte. I'd be more than up for that but the weekends are controlled by the "Boss" if you know what I mean and I will need to grovel for permission. Just don't make it the 2nd Sunday of the month as thats when we have our regular Charlotte meet up in Mooresville for the I77/I40 meets.
I got my digital caliper in the mail a few days ago... I am aching to tear that spare 12a block I have apart. Might jury rig it to use the 1/2 street 1/2 bridge ports I have here after I find another housing.
I am all for a saturday meet. Wouldn't mind hanging around the area some and go for a nice cruise

OK a special Saturday OGTA meeting for December sounds like a good idea (thanks Greg). We could even make it a date event, Donny could bring his girlfriend (if they are still together) and the rest of us could bring the wives, who could make us really good stuff to eat.
So first, what's a good date? Saturday December 8 has been suggested, can we go with this?
And second, how about a location? We can do Jeffrey's, but it's a sports bar, better for evening events. We could do it at Mike's place (a mile or two from Jeffrey's) as he has suggested, but I'm not sure that Michelle would agree, not to mention his neighbors.
Or we could do it at my house, out in the country, plenty of parking space for the hundreds of 7's that will come, 50 miles north of Atlanta on I85, in Jefferson, GA.
I just checked with Cathy, she said it's OK and will cook. We could make it an afternoon thing (say 12:00-4:00 or so, with excursions) with picnic/cookout lunch, kids, wives and dogs welcome. That way they can't say we never take them anywhere.
What'd ya'll think?

looks like ur slightly over 2hrs away. this will work but it will greatly limits my stay time in order to get back here before my in-laws bring my kids home from their house between 5-5:30. it's situations like this and never knowing which weekends i might have the kids that keeps me from making far away meets, or just getting out and meeting ppl at all. her leaving me still hasn't freed me up for these things.
Hey Ray, you want to meet at Jeffreys and then caravan to your place? If T_G really wants to go he can follow down to spartanburg for rxtasy3 and down to jeffreys. I know how to get to Jeff's, but not completely sure on yours (although I know how to get out.. weird).
