That black turbo was a pretty car, the owner was kind of cool too. I've got some pictures on my cell phone but I can't figure out how to get them off. Let's put that on the agenda for the next meeting.

Stu, what's you're excuse, a 350 mile round trip?

Yes, I really did lock my keys in the car. A guy in the plumbing truck (see photo) did the Slim Jim magic, I owe him a beer. Never occurred to me that a plumber would be good with a Slim Jim, but now it makes sense.

AWS, that silver car would look good in Jeffrey's parking lot. Did you say something like it might actually show up?

Its That Time Again

OK guys, 2 weeks from tomorrow is the next meeting. We need to start planning on it.

I know I was worthless and weak last month and did not show up. But give me another chance. I am not as bad as Ray says.

Worthless might be to strong a word Mike, useless would be a better way to put it. We missed you last time, 2GDFI's were all the rage. But yeah put Nov. 6 down on your calendar, with the 1st gens going into hibernation for the winter, we might have the only ones in the parking lot.

Did you guys hear about the new non technical forum? Follow this link to find pictures of yourself:

Next meeting Nov. 6, a new old guy with a silver 79 is supposed to be there, even Mike said he'd show up. Greg's rear wheels are a little wobbly so he might have to drive the Lexus.

I will see if I can swing by this round

Getting my carburetor downgraded to the stock Nikki for MPG ( I like getting more than 15ish on the highway). I hate having a lopey idle and stock ports.

The spell is working. That's an FB Donny, not an SA. It needs an SA for company, in case you hear of any for sale.

i drive mine year round also. same as i did with the 808 before wrecking it. the cold air in the winter makes it alittle rough running at first start up but i can live with it.

Good question, the only one I have ever seen that still looks original is on Mike's car, so if you come down to the OGTA meeting you can see it first hand. All the others have faded to dark gray and black. It's not raised so you can't do the stamp thing and trying to paint it with a touch up brush probably would look terrible.

It looks like it is some kind of decal, maybe it is still available through Mazda? If anybody knows, send us the info, I need two.

mine's all black. if it is a decal, that explains it. u can only see the "rx7" if u look at it from the side so the light will reflect the outline of it. as for making the next meet, i'd have to take time off work it being during the work week as i work 2nd shift. the meeting place is a few hrs away from me but i do plan to make one.

ok here's something i noticed tonight while checking those "mazda rx7" emblems. i'm guessing the SA didn't have them. the 7 i have has had the drivers front fender and door replaced from a 7 that was dark brown. this fender doesn't have this emblem or the holes where it would have been. but the original fender on the pass side does. at first i thought the emblem was just stuck on but a slight pull revealed that it has the pins that go into the holes in the fender. so this is what leads me to think that the SA's didn't have these emblems and the fender on my car came off an SA. now i've got to get another emblem and drill 2 holes.

Naw, SAs have the emblems. My 80 SA has em and the look almost new but the mazda word has lost some of the shiney silver finish. It could be the difference in trim levels, maybe the GS models had em and the base models didn't.

BTW, I'm an old guy and plan on making it down there but can't this time. Planning on a trip down in December as long as the weather is good. Stu will represent for Charlotte this time
