Yes, baking your tires in a 400+ degree environment is a BAD thing...and where the hell are you getting an oven big/strong enough to hold a rim with tire?
Liz....its time to replace your lines/master/slave and check your hardlines for cracking.... but short answer is yes, your cheeto brakes going out is going to break your wallet if you happen to 'fail to stop' in time to avoid something or you just cant stop at all and end up finding a ditch out there. Please fix cuz we dun wanna hear about the poor cheeto and the jimi who ended themselves cruising into a tree.

I has no time to fix ze brakes! TIME FOR A DAG-RON RUN!
It's probably just the master. Fluid hasn't dropped a bit. I'm gonna try bleeding them first. If that doesn't work, then I'll deploy chutes until the new master cylinder arrives.

Well, the TII doesn't have the tires, and it keeps stalling when I hit the brakes. Geez, what is it with brakes? I swear, these cars are really trying to kill me. So as of right now, I'm not competing. But maybe I'll get things together before this weekend. If not, I hope my bicycle will make it through tech. The brakes don't work too well on that thing either.
wait...how do you NOT have time to fix these minor inconveniences? Bleed that **** and then physically bump the idle of the purplepeopleeater up to 1k and leave it there. Im going to pellessippi this time to compete so at least one of us rotards is gonna be there....need to check with joey to see if hes comin or not.
I think that maybe painting a car in the reflective white or orange road paint would be nicely annoying. I wonder if it's illegal? I wouldn't guess it would be since reflector's are not.

I'm not gonna bandaid the idle, I'd rather solve the problem. I'm going to change the fuel filter and see if that helps. Even if it's running in tip top shape, I'm still out of rubber on the front tires, so no go.
As for the Cheeto, I don't necessarily need brakes to autocross it, right?

they make chrome paint now for cars.. or they have been forawhile and no one used it? that is very reflective and blinding and as far as i know legal so florescent colors shouldnt be. the only problem i could see is that u wouldnt be able to blend in against cops they would see u a mile away especially at night.
and i wouldnt think u would need to good of brakes if u work the gears???

What? Jimi working the gears? That's blasphemy...least coordin to him when he complained about my heavy use of second gear on the dragon <.<
The idle bump isnt a bandaid. The fact your rpm's drop when you apply the brakes is almost normal. My NA does it, the T2 didnt do only because its idle was setup to stay near 1.2k because of the porting. When you brake, the booster is drawing its 'boost' from your intake charge, so less air in the chamber means, drop in rpm's/power. The fix is to check your lines for leaks and just deal with it with a higher Idle imho, since the PPE isnt that bad off on stopping power just gripping power wheras the cheeto is a rolling deathtrap with a braking issue.

The TII is an absolute deathtrap on anything but dry pavement right now, and the Cheeto is only a death trap when the brakes unexpectedly go out on the way to work. Or on the way home from Walmart at a redlight. Off the top of my head.
The brakes still shouldn't kill the engine with a healthy idle of 750. And it's more extreme than that... even downshifting into second I've had it die with my foot nearly off the clutch. Somethin' ain't right! Probably an easy fix but I have other issues to attend to first.

"Race car for sale" - naturally I had to check that one out, and guess what??
http://knoxville.craigslist.org/car/747893909.html
Someone go check that out.
My brake master won't be in until next Tuesday, so it's looking like I'm out for this weekend. I'll still be there to support, coasting into the parking lot dragging a homemade bed sheet parachute from the back hatch.

Lol, no jeremy, slicks are stickin to the NA unless weather is a bitch, and even then they might be better than these pos tires.

well ive heard from a few people that painting them with plain rim paint wouldnt work, on account of them wearing down, the paint that is, wearing off. and i really would powdercoat them if i had a spare set of 5 lugs that would fit my car. and the money to have the tires taken off and put back on, i cant do it or ill bend then all up cause there chrome alloy alluminum or some weird ****. not sure exactly. but painting them black id have to sand them, primer them then clear them right? and just tape the tires?
well the easy solution then is this:
high temp engine paint found at O'reilly's. I repainted a set of stock T2 wheels in a generic gold, 4 coats of paint with sanding between coats. Wheels have withstood being on the tire mounter at walmart 3 times, and one rim was actually HIT but a passing semi and the paint didnt even chip.
But if you do go that route, get the stuff that has the ceramic in it, id use it again if I ever repainted another set of wheels just for what ive seen them stand up to.
Picture of said 'damaged' wheel with nothing done to it, not even rubbed the semi tire rubber/paint off yet.

and heres one of the good wheels, nothing up close sorry but its all i got.

My stock TII wheels are spraypainted black. The stuff really does hold up quite well. You can always recoat them if they start to fade or chip. I would recommend laying a clearcoat on top for longevity if you don't mind the glossy shine. If you want the dull look, you can lay really thin, rough coats of clear on it. Just make sure you take your time when masking it, and take them off the car so it comes out even and you don't end up with overspray on everything.

Hello, I live in the Chattanooga area, I'm a new owner of an RX7, had the car about 4 months, its a '90 RX7 GTU. My first RX7, and its the best vehicle I've ever owned.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone, thinking of running some of the upcoming autocross events in Chattanooga. Maybe, I'll see some of you there.
