Yeah, this club is full of Knox-villains, but there are a few guys out in the Chatty area. So welcome. Got any pics of your car? Sounds like you got a good specimen if you've had it for four months and haven't started throwing tools at it
I just re-adjusted my TPS using two different multimeters... all I gotta say is WOW. The idle was at 0 resistance, which is why I was having bucking and stalling issues. Got it to read 1kohm while shut and it sweeps smooth to ~6.5kohm at WOT. I only took it around the neighborhood so far, but the change is incredible. It's now smooth on and off the throttle with no bucking whatsoever, which I haven't experienced in the 4 years of owning this thing. It feels like a new car, even with the throttle body mod. I've also noticed that the idle will stick around 1k while coming to a stop, and then rest back to 850 after a few seconds. So hopefully no more stalling, even with the e-fan running. I feel like throwing a party before everything fouls up again.
Cody, if you want my TPS adjustment service, give me a call and set up an appointment before the autocross. Seriously, you've ridden in my TII... you've gotta feel how this thing rides now!

yeah sounds like one of your coils are shot now Liz, since the no tach thing IS related to the coil packs.
But at least I had a good day, got the old pedestal and oil OUT of the car and the new stuff allll bolted in and tight and stuff. Pics coming now.
new pedestal installed, also installed the guage sending units while it was handy.

Sooo... why did you buy an oil pedestal, anyway? Just curious.
Cody and I tested the coils, not get anything from either of them. No power to the leading coil pack either. So tomorrow I'm gonna test the CAS. I'm hoping it's something as simple as a bad ground at either the CAS or the ECU, but chances are I'll end up replacing one.

I bought the new pedestal so I could have a place to install aftermarket oil temp and oil pressure gauges, note the two brand new sending units attached to the new pedestal.
Forgot to mention, was out and about today and went over a set of rough rough RR tracks, and stopped at a stopsign at the top of a hill after said tracks...car magically fixed its bouncing idle yet again. Ran great the rest of the way to the house. Afterwards whilst my brother replaced his exploded right front brake line (90 celica gt) I decided to put my s5 tails in...and low and behold cant directly put em in thanks to a lack of the s5 license plate bracket... oh well get to rock S4's for that much longer.

Such is the way of the rotary... hit some railroad tracks and your issues will resolve themselves - finally fix something yourself and it'll just quit running.
You can "persuade" the S4 center piece to fit with a grinder like I did. You just have to cut some areas out of each end. I already had an extra so I figured I'd sacrifice one of them.

Yeah that sucks to hear that Jimi, but thats what happens when you threaten to sell one of a pair of cars that have known each other for a while. They get attached and take turns staying 'limp' so you have to keep em both. Kinda one reason I think Im only going to keep one rotary at all times unless Im just begging for a headache.
Like what time Jeremy? Id be down depending on times, since I have to confiscate my brother so he can attend auto-cross for sunday.

Aye, that's a good theory Derrick. Cheeto and TII have been buddies for quite awhile, and they've already been orphaned once this year. I'd keep one at a time if I could, but that requires getting rid of one which is going to be hard if neither are drivable. I'm just glad the brakes went out on me and not someone I sold the car to.
Well count me out, I got places to be and no rotaries to get me there.

What is the T2 doing that it wont run? will it try to crank and not fire or what man? Might as well figure out what it is....Ive gotta go and hit topside after auto-cross, gotta figure out why the widebody keeps eating fuel pump fuses, though shouldnt be too hard as the wiring was run simply, and chances are its something stupid like the connection at the pump or something.

so who lives the closest to elizabethton? theres a black vert with black tint, black rims, coil overs and dual exahust for sale. not sure for how much, but im still trying to sell my dodge and id like to get ahold of this guy to talk about maybe a trade of something. if someone happens to be out and about one day and sees it, if you got your camera with you snap a few pics or at least get a number. i would go and look for it myself cept i have no clue where elizabethton is.

Elizabethton is out toward the Tri-city area in Northeast TN. I'd say you're a lot closer than we are.
Alright, the low down on my car... the fuses were the first thing I checked, both the engine bay block and in the floor block. The engine fuse inside will cause my symptoms but all my fuses checked out. Although I did check them hastily on the side of the road, so I'll run through them again before I do anything major.
What happened was I was cruising in 2nd and the tach bottomed out while the engine was still turning. So that right there told me that the signal at the trailing coil was lost. The tach doesn't bounce at all, but the engine turns over fine. No spark from either coil when cranked. 0 VDC at the leading coil. Today I pulled the CAS out and turned it by hand. No spark and nothing from the injectors, so obviously it isn't functioning. So either the CAS is bad or it could be an ECU issue, or any of the wiring in between. Cody and I unplugged the MAF yesterday and that had no effect, so I think we can rule that one out.
Does anyone have a spare CAS I could try out? I basically just want to plug it up and spin it and see if I get a spark. If it doesn't fire any plugs, then it looks like I'll be spending some time with a multimeter. I need to check the voltage at the boost sensor as well, as I've heard low voltage there is a tell-tale sign of a dead ECU. I'm also gonna run through the fuses again, because I'd love to find out that in my haste I overlooked the engine fuse being blown!
I'll still be at the autocross tomorrow to cheer you guys on, take pictures, and weigh down your passenger seats. Just make sure you get out of the way of the Cheeto when I pull up... NO BRAKES, BEETCHES!

I might take you up on that, but I don't see myself "rolling" out that way anytime soon. If you want to go through the trouble of taking it out and bringing it to the autocross (I know, it's one bolt) then I'd appreciate it. I won't cry if you don't.
Curious... is there a difference between the N/A and TII CAS? I'm betting S4 and S5 are incompatible. I don't think it would matter anyway since right now I'm only looking to see if my plugs will fire at all.

I would imagine that a tinted vert may look kinda weird with the top down as there is still tinted glass showing.. So I'd like to see pictures so I can see if I like it.
the n/a and t2 cas are the same and so are the s4 and s5 cas every cas is compatible iv got 2 of em here that u can have but i doubt u wanna come all the way down here. iv also got 2 spare good working coils u could have as well. and is your t2 a s4? if so iv also got a s4 n/a ecu it wont be able to drive your car on it but it will start your car as long as its not in boost and allow u to rule it out.
Hey guys, I thought I would invite all of you locals to a meeting that will take place some time at the end of the summer in the Chattanooga Area, There are a couple options floating around; One being an Autocross event at Chattanooga State(Sept. 14th), and the other being an informal meet at Coolidge park.(Any-time really) Anyone interested please give an informal RSVP at this link, theres more information there:

Acups, I just saw some pics of your old 1st gen...and it makes me wonder... Did you happen to sell/trade said FB to an individual in morristown? I ask cuz there is a similar silver FB parked in the same apt complex that a deep blue gxl used to reside, but now there is only the FB in the exact same spot parked exacltly like the FC used to sit. and come to think of it even the left front tire is either low or the shock/spring is iffy
