I'm sure the car guys event will be a blast but I needed a change from the full course and also the NASA event has a higher entertainment factor because of the the races etc.... More importantly they haven't requested my instructor prowess yet lol

I should know better by tommorow night.... depends on whether I can bail out of work, and if it's gonna be 100 nut-roasting degrees out.

I'll be on streets too... couldn't locate track tires in time :-(
I understand completely and like you I'll probably decide Thursday night lol.

But let me know all the same

Basically it'll be a lite day for me if I go... sort of a test and tune.

I finally got the EVO in, so i want to get the harnesses all squared away, bed and get used to the new competition compound pads I got from Nick (the lapping days only lasted 5 days), and log some high speed time in the car.

I'm going up to New York to WGI in september for a Trackmasters event, and I really want to qualify for their open track group... four 1 hour sessions a day!! Their standards are tough though, so I don't want to be rusty on top of not having seen the track in a year.

I hate like hell to run my streets, but couldn't find a suitable sub-$1,000 option for track tires.

I'll definately let you know as soon as i'm sure

Hey Fritz, it was nice to meet you at VIR this past weekend. You sure can drive! I wish I could have chatted a little more, but we don't really have any free time when corner-working. I'm sure you had your hands full instructing anyway.

Anyway, I'll be driving with NASA in my POS soon enough. Gotta put on my second oil cooler and either get a different seat or remove some padding from the stocker... I don't fit so well with a helmet on. I also have a kirk 4-pt bar and some harnesses sitting in the garage for a little added safety. Other than that she is ready, can't wait!

Oh, and a 10 ring circus is an accurate description of NASA's events, they keep everyone busy!

You know, every time I see something like that; it makes me want to get an NSX even more. They may not be the fastest car on the track, but damn they look good "not being all that fast".

They really are awesome looking cars.

However I still prefer the FD for both performance and looks.

The NSX is an exotic beauty you'll have to wine and dine but the FD is a no nonsense bitch in a tight skirt...........and there's no question about what she wants

Great vid Fritz once again. I haven't been on a road course all year.

I hope to make the last NASA session out here in NorCal before the year is out. I'm itching to race.

BMW club VIR Full course 9/,15,16,17/06

Great weather and lots of track time 409 miles in two days hehe. If my oil cooler didn't crack again I would of gone over 500.

Basically vibrations from pilings/curbs etc... are shaking the lines and the cooler causing the cooler to crack at the fitting. I'll try securing the lines and cooler better to help counter the vibration and movement.

I tried using some old vintage racing bias ply Hoosiers and had a blast sliding around but don't recommend using them unless you like practicing car control. I was about a second or two slower on these than with the old A32s. Best times were 2.12s running on the old A32s with stock size wheels and brakes. What's really cool about my current setup is the car looks stock but it's a frikken animal

I'll get a vid up asap.

Hey Fritz,
Did Bret get you a different brand of cooler this time? He replaced my driver's side MOCAL with an Earl's that supposedly has stronger fittings.

I'm thinking about flopping it upside down, and redoing the lines to come out the top where they'll be less exposed.

Hey Pete,
I already ordered the Mocal cooler but I'll probably order the earls and return the Mocal.

Thanks for the info

On a side note I think the Earls is also a lot cheaper.

The key to keeping the fittings from cracking is properly securing and supporting the lines so that the fittings don't have to support them.
