Come do the trackmasters at the Glen in September instead.... i'll be there. Stay the rest of the week for the vintage festival.

Just looked into it. It seems that the Trackmaster event is during the week while the Tracquest event is on a weekend. This is a critical difference. I haven't ruled it out though.

IMO the 99 spec rears are fine unless you start going over 170.

I don't have an e brake and it SUCKS. I need help everytime I load the car and I have to be sure I remember to put chucks under the tires so it doesn't roll off somewhere.

**** this thread has probably covered every damn topic there is at some point LOL

I'm going to try hard to make it for the Tracquest event at Watkins Glen.

Maybe one of these days i'll get off my *** and digitize some of my WGI video for you guys.

The KB might do 170 down the straight... John Eppley's RX6B killer bee did a buck sixty five there when I got a ride-along a few years ago.

It used a gallon that last day I had to stop in fredricksburg and fill it up. I'm sure I can another weekend out of it. I hope. I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and get a reman next month. Did you get the oild leak fixed on the track car?

I drove my old blue car with bad seals to 4 or 5 track events before I started having serious trouble starting it. 1st it would start and run on one rotor for a bit until the other would kick on then I had to start changing plugs. Then after about 1 month it was overheating just driving around town. It was so bad I barely made it to Brets. The stock gauge would reach about 3/4 in traffic and it would barely cool down at highway speeds with the heat on.

The KB is really hurtin the boost last weekend at Summit went down to 8lbs. It has a pretty big crack on the manifold. The wash cloth mod is working wonders on the oil leak so I won't be changing that. JK....hehehe. Bret is going to fix the cooler and the oil pan so hopefully no more oil leaks for a while. Hopefully Mitch can weld the manifold but the KB will be laid up for while most likely.

Fortunately one of my buddies (Dr Little) is selling me his FD so the track schedule won't be affected The crazy thing is I sold the car to him last year I should up my therapy sessions to twice a month He just recently bought a very nice single turbo car from CA. The sly bastard pulled it right out from under me.

LOL! You crack me up! If I don't get my car sorted I might have to rent the red bucket of stripped bolts unless it's stripped by then!

FINALLY made it back to the track. I think it's been the longest layoff for 2 or 3 years LOL

The KB is still out of commision. Cracked manifold etc....

I drove my low mileage r1 with everything stock except the catback and intake on stock wheels with victos (8lbs of boost to keep the temps down hehehe) Times were not too bad considering the temps were in the 80s and the track was not as clean as usual. Lots of 2:17s with a possible 2:16

I'll post a vid or two of atleast a fast lap.

I should of had some great video of me following a buddy in an m3 racecar who overcooked t14 but my DVR was in zoom mode so it was worthless

Fast lap vid uploaded. LINK: http://fritz.sysadmin-racing.com/

Title is: VIR 2.16 (stock fd) BMW 9-05

I found a few 2.16 and 17s but even with open passing it was difficult to get many completely clean laps.

I'm going back this coming Monday and will again drive the stock r1. If the temps are a little cooler I should be able to crack a 2:15

The vid is pretty cool it really puts you in the drivers seat. I tried to position it as far forward as possible. Notice the v8 m3 race car that passes me at the start of the video (he was running close to 2 minute flat laps during the race on Sunday) The wind noise is still terrible and you can barely hear the car because of the stock exhaust but let me know what you think.

I'll see if I can find some good action footage and upload another vid that's less boring hehe

Well Monday was pretty hot and humid plus I had some trouble getting my air pressures just right so I didn't manage to do any better than a 2:16.

I uploaded a vid of a modded Z06 wooping my *** though. He's running 2:12s or 13s and not even breaking a sweat. This is why a stock FD just won't cut it with todays competition LOL

Vid title: VIR F (Modded Z & Stock FD) Porsche 9-05

Looked like it was all horsepower though. You gained on him through the esses, and seemed quicker through T3, and and the lefthander right before Oak tree.

Yep, that's what I'm saying. The car is not on the greatest line or stressed out and he's running 2:12s or so.

Damn, I'm really missing the KB. It just ruins my whole experience when I get dusted like that LOL

I'm going to Summit with the Audi club this coming Monday and Tuesday (again in the daily driver) so I'm sure I'll be pointing by that same Z if he shows up

Imagine how fast the new Z will be

I'll have to turn the boost up to 12 and put some Hoosiers on just to stay in his rear view These rich bastards in their vettes really **** me off

Fritz- I was unable to view the link. Can you repost a new one?

You could always put a 427 LS1/LS2 in your FD

just kidding.......

The link: http://fritz.sysadmin-racing.com/

It sometimes goes down but it's free so I can't complain

It should be working again soon.

My thoughts on the LS1:

For 12k you can buy 5 13Bs

Seriously though I think the LS1 swap into an FD is the perfect solution to the many reliability issues that haunt any turbo charged car. HOWEVER the rotary is music to my ears.

Bottomline: tracking any car that's running low lap times is pricey.
