Hey Fritz, Glad we had a chance to meet, regardless of how briefly at the MDA event at VIR. Always a very please to see the "world famous" O'Brien/Babber/Flynn KB again in person... reminds me of all of the wonderful friends I've made in this passion.

Damian, unfortunately I can't see making another VIR event this year. The four days of towing up and back really take a toll out of my domestic time budget. Though painfully tempting, I unfortunately will probabley stay within the Homestead / Sebring / Roebling / RA radius of action for the next 6-8 months. That said, I remain optimistic we'll eventually share the same paddock some day!

As for knee ops, one down and more than likely another in my future. This getting old ***** is for the birds! ;-)

She puts Broadway Joe to shame LOL

Went to Summit last weekend for Hyperfest and had fun watching all the festivities but the car is very sick. Boost went down to about 7 or 8lbs because of the exhaust leak which turned out to be a cracked manifold. Hopefully Bret will be able to fix it quick so I can tear up the N course at VIR next weekend

After 5k track miles miles I'm ready to turn the boost up and let this dog eat. Hopefully in the fall I'll have some new tires which should make for some exciting times

Got some video but nothing worth showing. IOW I was slow and nobody did anything interesting

hey fritz, what boost do you plan (or usually) run...15 psi?
I know lately you been running like 10 psi but i wasnt sure if thats because you knew of the ex-leak.

Although tuned for 15 psi, I have been running only at 9 to 11 psi (wastegate spring) but plan to run it at full tuned boost at some point. I tried using the boost controller once and it was totally erratic, so I have to fix that before trusting it to manage boost. The wastegate spring is totoally consistent and predictable, but probably is not maxamizing spool since it seem a pressure signal the entire time.

anyway, what was the deal with your brakes, you dont like they how they are feeling or somthing?

The brakes are fine for 20 to 25 minute sessions but I tend to drive 30 minute plus sessions if I can get away with it. This leads to cracked rotors. So I'd like to put a bigger kit on it. However I'm really cheap so the brake thing will probably not happen. Remember the cryo treated rotors I bought from you. I took the originals off and cracked those puppies in half in about 3 months. Now I have the originals back on and the cracks are very close to the edges.

I love the pedal feel with the manual brake setup on the car I just have to remind myself to really be sensitive when trail braking.

When I first bought the car I was running 10psi then I turned it up to 11psi and its been down hill from there.

Basically if I have the car tip top and the track is open I'd like to crank it up to 13 and really run some fast times. When my equipment is limited the boost will be limited as well though

holy poop, you are a brake rotor eater LOL
PM me if your interested in my 'big red' setup, I dont have any issues with the big rotor cracks. I know its a heavier kit, but its big and relativly cheap. Plus I already did the ground work/spending to have new aluminum hats made and properly shaped rotors that are not cross drilled. Anyway, let me know if your interested, myabe ill sell my old hats or somthin.

EXACLTY my thoughs on my car (now with no abs), I love the feel, but have to keep in mind to back off a bit after it bites so that they dont lock and trail brake less so that the inside tires dont lock up.

same thoughs for me and my car

Once I burn through whatever you send me I'll probably put the Brembo GT kit I have on it. Then when those are done I'll do the Coleman thing LOL.

I'm penciling the Audi event at VIR for November. I need to see the two yellow beasts in action for myself. I may do the Tracquest event at Watkins Glen in October as well if anyone is interested.

Ramon,
If the tracquest event is before the surgery I'll try to make it. The November Audi event is looking better all the time. Now we just need to get Pete, Pat, Crispy, Rich, Mark, Techno, Randy, Nat etc....

Hopefully I'll be able to join in on the fun in November! After seeing the 'Bee in person and watching the vids, I really need to see you flog it.

So, what's the weather like historically at VIR during November? Can you tell I'm awash in temptation!

free? no, dood these rotors for our brakes are stupid expensive!!!!

but then again 'expenseive' is a relative term, for the amount of braking I get out of them they end up pretty cheap ;-)

Also,
Maybe we can do a "local guys" meet up at the October Seat Time at SP. Once my MBA program starts back up in sept., I'm pretty much limited to one-day local deals.

id say do the jspec full upgrade, i did that on my street FD (that i used to track) and I love them, and they would be track worthy with some good pads. they are much better than stock, relativly cheap, and keep the rear emergency brake.

i do love the big reds no my track car, but those are overkill for a car that is not dedicated to track days.
