I've seen you before at some HPDEs with NASA but you weren't in my group.
Which SCCA group did you race with?
To get signed off you need two signatures from instructors during a FATT. If you're running 1:24s that won't take but a couple of laps HE HE.
350rwhp is not what's impressive. You're driving must be very good to achieve those laps times. During NASA big bore races the typical lap times are equivalent to yours and most of them have more than 350rwhp.
Sorry you need to sell it and if I didn't already have a track car I'd definitely come take a look see
.
I agree VIR is such a great track
I'm going this Monday and Tuesday

Hehe, I attribute the 2:13 mostly to 350WHP!
You're right - I have spent more time at Summit. It's a lot closer to me, but I still prefer VIR over Summit. I love VIR! Sucks that it's 5.5 hours away...

You've seen me at NASA events? Did we talk? What car were you driving? I usually run in group 3 with NASA. If we've met, I gotta cut down on those gas fumes!
My car is classed ITE in SCCA. Interesting class - you never know what'll show up! I've run with Ferrari 360 Challenge cars, a supercharged NSX, a supercharged Z06, and an impressive NASA AIX Mustang, to name a few. That Z06 was definitely the fastest in a straight line.
Would I actually have to attend a FATT to be able to do seat time? I mean, don't they recognize competition licenses? I guess I'll have to call BSR about that... When are you going next?
As for the big bore guys, I regularly see 400+WHP cars, but they usually weigh at least 400LB more than me. On starts and out of low-speed corners, I've flat out-accelerated some surprising cars. I'm not saying I completely lack skill, but the power definitely helps!
You're going to VIR next week? You bastard!

We spoke briefy at VIR while you were filling up the tank and you mentioned how well the car was going
I can't remember what I was driving but it was an FD of some sort.
BSR will only allow you to run during seat time if you meet the instructors qualifications. Comp licenses will allow you to run in the comp group during the seat time which allows for open passing which is a big plus.

The Audi event this past Monday and Tuesday was really great. Excellent weather and the track conditions where phenominal which led to a new lap record for the Killer Bee. Low 2:08 on street tires
Damian,
I have some track footage of Ted in his very fast and nice red Mustang. Is it a Rouche Mustang? The 400 plus HP supercharged one? Anyway it's a very well prepared track mustang that I enjoyed following around. I should have a vid up in the next couple of days. Sorry about the trouble his buddy had in turn 10.
During the event 4 cars had trouble in t 10. The mustang, a CARERRA GT (that's right the 500k Porsche super car), a gt3 (running some 2:07s BTW), and a 944 turbo.
During the banquet on Saturday night I told some C5 guys I was entering the esses at 140 and they thought I was on some sort of ego trip. Later I was leaving to go to the hotel and heard them laughing about the guy who claimed to be entering the uphill esses at 140. Those corvette guys have no respect for the KB LOL

We had a novice autox class locally last weekend and the slowest car in my group was a pretty Z06 on new CCW's with Hoosiers. It was getting killed by an S2000, 350Z, C5, C4, v6 auto Stang, BMW 540i and a few others I can't recall; all on street tires. It was painful to watch that guy drive the car even after he'd had lots of help. I'd been sick for a couple weeks and my voice was already weak. By the next morning I could barely talk, but most of the students made a great showing at their first event the following day

I love the comment about chasing faster guys. So true

We think we are at 10 10nths and we are just touching the surface.
Glad the autox school went well and I'm sure the z06 left with a smaller ego and much better driving skills. Along with a huge hunger for the sport.

Hi Fritz, it could have been Ted or Fred driving, they both share the 2 cobra Rs. The more setup car is the Red Cobra R you are talkign about. They both are silly fast drivers and very experienced, that posse (along with Burce and Brian...more cobra R guys) really helped me get up to speed at RoadAmerica and MAM.
It a bummer about Fred's blue car :-(
I'll check out your video when I get a chance.

Damn I can't wait to go to VIR, or any HPDE for that matter, hopefully this summer sometime. Anyone have any inside scoop on the carnage this past weekend? I hear a Carrera GT and a GT3 got banged up pretty good.

Damian,
Good post of yours in that thread

Peter,
The C GT was going very slow. I'm sure he was worried about dinging it. At 600 plus HP or whatever those cars have I've sure it's one hell of a bull to ride

Pat,
You know it brother. It's up on stands ready for us to rip and tear

Yep, REALLY fun weekend. Definitely need to do that again

Funny you should ask
I went of the front straight at about 70mph and almost blew that monkey out of my *** LOL.I'll pm you with the details.
Found some 1.41s in traffic from the only other taped session. I wish I had taped the last session because we had some pretty clean laps. The tape following you is not real good (the whole time we are in traffic) but I'll upload it so you can see some flamage and how clean the line is

Wasn't July 4th weekend with Tracquest? Or was that for Monday and Tuesday? Knowing you Fritz, you'll probably do both. If I don't make Mazdadrivers I will try to do one of these two. Reman is in and Haltech goes in this weekend (crossing my fingers).
