can anyone help

I have a 1991 convertable that i got with 57,000 miles for three throusand in very good conditison. now i dont know much about the car. but i seen another one with a turbo 2 engine in it so i thought that i could do the same. But the one that i saw was a stick mys is a automatic. so not knowing i want and got a twin-turbo from a 3rd gen because it had a automatic set-up. The motor came with wiring, ecu, shaft, intercooler, and auto-tranny. now i cant find anyone to put it in from with people are telling me is that its to hard to do, or it cant be done. now i have been a mechanic at acura for 7 years but never worked on mazda. So can anyone offer any use-full information.

I see nothing in the faq about a automatic set-up at all.

The tranny difference isn't mentioned too much. Read this particular passage and look at the links contained therein...

Will a 3rd Gen RX-7 (FD) twin turbo engine (13B-REW) fit in my 2nd gen RX-7?
The simple answer is No! The motor mounts are in different locations as well as other issues; however if you have enough time and money it can be done. Much of the project will be custom fabricating all the systems that attach to the engine such as the exhaust, intercooler setup, cooling system and wiring. A standalone EMS is almost required and it is very difficult to control the sequential turbos. Most people go to a single turbo because of this. In general this swap is not worth the time and trouble unless you plan on making more then 450 HP.

Here is a basic write up: http://fc3spro.com/TECH/SWAP/FD3S/rew.html

There have been many past threads covering swapping the 13B-REW into an FC:

The biggest issue would be if you wanted to use a FD auto tranny in a FC. That would require using a FD ECU.
