FC3S + 13B-rew

Hy Guys,

I'm an FD owner since years and just now I came bya FC that I can p for cheap.
Beng othelookout for a drift/track day car, this could suit my needs.

However, I only have FD engine/parts So if possible I would ik to put an FD engine in it.

The stickies say it can be done in 2 ways, but no detailed info is available.

If anyone could cheat there experiences, that owuld be nice

I have a complete FD engine incl wiring harness etc...

Idea is to bolt up to a fc turbo tranny and get it rolling from there.

Any info is highly appreciated.

Neal

Good luck with the swap. Tell me how it goes when you're done. http://fc3spro.com/TECH/SWAP/FD3S/rew.html . That's the best page I could find. I had researched this but i decided to go NA on my FC.

I think we have MAYBE one person here who's done it. I suppose it may be financially reasonable, since you already have an engine and everything you need to make that engine run, but you WILL need custom engine mounts. Also, if I recall correctly, the intercooler piping for a 13B-REW will NOT fit properly under an FC hood; you'll need to get creative on that yourself.

One of the ways to do it is to take off the FD oil pan and get a FC oil pan, once the FC pan is mounted you'll see that there are 3 holes on the bottom where the bolts for the stock FC engine mounts go, what you can do is use a drill press and find a way to mount the engine underneath it so that you can drill those holes. You'll then have to tap the holes to the same thread as the bolts and the holes should only be as deep as the bolts for the FC are. Once you've drilled and tapped the holes, you can bolt on the mounts for that side and the driver's side of the motor. If you intend on using as much of the FD sensors and whatnot, you'll need an aftermarket EMS, but if you're willing to swap the front cover for that of an FC, which can net you a more reliable mech. oil metering pump and the use of some FC electronic sensors and components, you have more flexibility to pick up a PowerFC adapter from Banzai and use a FD PowerFC. That's probably the best way to do it and do it right, that way you don't have a nasty looking mount that wraps all around your motor.

This thread is 7 months old, things change. rew swap is stupid unless you're like the OP and have the engine already. RE swap is more practical.

^^ flame on me all u want but i dont think its really all that hard no more complicated then swaping a 13b into a fb or installing some crazy turbo setup

all u have to do is mod the fc pan some becuase its to long and drill and tap the center rew housing for the fc engine mount the other side bolts up adn then the thing drops right in.

now it will require a good rad and fmic setup and shouldnt be done by someone unless they know what they are doing but its not even close to being undoable
