What did you do to your FB today?
I finished installing the new shocks 3 of 4 went without any fight but, the passenger front one just didn't want to leave but, with some encouragement it came out then I took her out for a test drive, here are some pics of what went in and came out.
The new stuff,

The old rears, not so bad but, I'm pretty sure they came with the car
though they say TOKICO on them,

and the fronts, completely shot, no rebound, no oil, no gas, these I am pretty certain have been replaced as they are KYB,
Overall a MASSIVE improvement over what was there very happy with the new ones.

I finally got over backing off on my turbo build and going NA. There's nothing like a few shiny new parts to help you feel better!

The 7 got to spend a day out in the driveway, to make room for needful maintenance on the Z. Being my daily, It seems to only get worked on when I take time off work.
Struts, belts.. plugs were on the sched but ran out of time. Bit different scale than working on he lil Beastie.

The Beastie is at the local alignment shop, finally getting the alignment I've been trying to find time for since forever. Between the Labor Day sale and the $10 off coupon I had, only gonna cost $60.
The manager of this place understands me, and she let me give the alignment tech "The Talk." Took a minute for him to grasp the whole unbolt-and-rotate-the-strut-mount idea, but he was on board. I also gave them a copy of the relevant section of the FSM. Sharp kid; he realized that this car was a bit different from what he was used to.
I love it when the tech opens the hood... and just stops and stares for a good 30 seconds. This time, I got a whistle from one, and a cell phone pic taken by another. Then they went to wash their hands before starting work.
I gave up a long time ago on valet parking. Between the manual choke and the unusual placement of the headlight switch, half the time I have to go get "the car that won't start."

went to the shop and told the tech what I wanted for my camber, caster and toe-in.
I had already positioned the strut tops where I wanted them.
I watched the alignment tool screens to make sure he set it up right for me. Did
a good job. Of course he had to take the car for a spin to "make sure" it was ok.
I had just put new brakes in all around including hawk pads up front. I think he
about shat himself on that drive. He came back and said the alignment was fine
and the brakes even better.

Peepers is a bit like that too, except there is just no choke, and no headlights, and the part that scares everyone, no power brakes...
lol! thats why i was never worried about my Tr3, starter button, manual choke. the handbrake works backwards, so to put it on, you pull it, and push the button, to disengage it, you just pull a little, and it unlocks.
pretty sure nobody under 40 could drive it

I swapped out a bad waterpump. The bearings were so shot that the car shook violently at any engine RPM above 2500. It also generated enough heat to lock up the fan clutch and keep it spinning all the time. Crazy.
The new pump leaked quite a bit initially but after I tightened the lower bolt a bit more and let it run, the leak dried up and hasn't come back. Fingers crossed.
The car's so quiet now, it's eerie.

Although I sold my Sunrise Red GSL-SE a little over a week ago I had one more thing to do for it. When I bought it the sunroof was glass and the original metal panel had been lost in a previous transaction. I wanted the glass panel for the EV and so I put the black panel on the red GSL-SE and that is what it had on it when I sold it. I bought a metal sunroof with the correct paint and interior over a year ago but the paint needed work I had not gotten it finished. So yesterday I finished prepping it and today I painted the red primer and applied the basecoat. It was too humid to spray the clear coat.
The first photo is the panel all fixed, dents filled, rust removed and red primer applied.
The second and third photo is of the primer ready for the basecoat cross scuffed with 600 grit.
The base coat is applied but I need better light to take a reasonable photo. I did this in my garage with rattle cans from Automotive Touch Up. One can is barely able to do three light coats on the sun roof. You really need a paint booth and a good spray gun I have decided. But I think this is going to turn out good enough that I would be happy with it if it was still my car.

You can also see the light from the LED headlights to the left of center from :14 to :37 where I was showing them. The camera really made them look glaring but they don't appear to be so to the naked eye.

Here is my base coated sunroof in the light of day. It looked better last night. I will hit it with a tack cloth and then clear coat it. I don't have enough paint to give it another coat. Hoping the clearcoat will hide the dry passes is probably futile but this is as far as I am going to go.
This paint is very fast drying and they have you spray it from 8-10 inches which is pretty close so it makes it difficult to get the correct overlap. I believe the manufacturer has chosen to try to prevent runs and shorten the time between coats. Maybe with more practice I could do a better job.
