It was nice to see another bridge-port out there.

So I found out this morning that the 550's I had in the secondaries weren't enough for this beast. I think somethings actually wrong with them. "Getting on it" you could hear knocking like crazy, but the afrs were good.

So I swapped them with the 720s I had for my turbo.
Jamin adjusted the whole tune for the 720s, now its much better.
But there is still a little knocking when you put it to the floor, afrs around 13's.
So it needs a little more tuning.

So I found out what was causing the knocking. It was my secondary coil. Unplugged it. No knocking at all any more. We were able to tune it all the way up to the 8k rev limiter.

i dont think so. i think the ignitor is messed up and was causing random ignition. he is going to swap it out for another coil pack and see what happens. it ran perfect before the new engine

I have a 4'x4' utility trailer you could borrow. It's in North Chuck, though. Takes a 1 7/8 ball if you're interested.

Mike,

I'll let you know. The only problem with having to pick it up in Charleston is that my 5 hour round trip would become much closer to 11 hours on the road with all of the back and forth. Ick. Thank you for the offer, either way!

You could just bring it back when you come down for Kira's year pics. I shouldn't need it before then.

Alternately, I might be down for a roadtrip if you'll pay for the 8's gas Gotta see when this mediation I've got finally gets scheduled. Otherwise I don't think I have court the rest of this month or early November.

Hmmm... possibly. I 'might' be able to get the father-in-law's Forester since the Corolla doesn't have a hitch. If so, I just found out that U-Haul has small trailers for about $15. I'm hoping to go down either Thursday or Friday morning. You're welcome to ride shotgun if I go that route, but fuel to Cola and back are yours. LOL.

$15 for a small trailer is a steal. Go that route.

Ok this is weird.
Yesterday I tried two extra coils I had.
Swapped in the 1st one, and it still knocks.
Then, swapped in the 2nd coil, and still knocks.
So the problem has to be something with the timing of the secondary coils.
But It dose run off the primary coil alone. At least I got that.
Drivings kinda weird without a tach though.

Haven't been here in a while so I haven't seen your posts. Also missed that GTG.

OK, so i think i am finally going to sell the FD. Just cant spend any more time on it. Anyone interested? I know that the front rotor has low compression. That is the major problem, still runs, just hard to start once hot.

Unless I get my hands on a turbo trans release bearing, the engine won't be installed today. Damnit...

might be selling the 7 sometime soon guys........
if anyone wants it the short story is s4 with lots of nice upgrades and one small
coolant seal leak(does not burn coolant but some exhaust does get back into cooling system)

the reason for maybe selling is i just bought a 90 BMW 325i and would like to spend some money on it
