Well guys this would be better coming from me............. I feel so dirty ..................
I cheated....... Thats right cheated ... If I fix berts A/C and lend jessie my ecu can I be forgiven ..... Oh I already did that ... Just forgive me then.

I went to another car club meet *drops head* at least it was a rx7 meet. Hampton roads meet.
They are pretty much like us a mix of 7's and 8's pretty informal I think there was 2 8's 3 FD's 1 FC no FB's 1 nsx and a mustang. I drove to Va beach Sat my sis still lives there and I use to.
Here are some pics from the meet I still wish to retain my RRDI membership and will accept whatever punishment I'm given .

We also saw a red S4 Vert around 10PM last night when we were taking the FC to Sheetz on Capital. So at the light, he jumped out and handed her an RRDI card (With the RX7club.com info on the back). He says she was an older lady, so I KNOW it wasn't Greg.
PerkyStina-
I saw the vert your talking about today at the Sheetz on capital (by the way gas is only 2.59 there right now!!) and talked to him about the drive in. He said his wife had recieved a card one day so i'm assuming it was the same person. He was a real nice guy, also owns a miata and a harley. Unfortunately i dont think we will see him a the drive-in's, he said he's really busy but is interested in getting to know more about the car.

Johny, nice group of cars up at Hampton. That white FC is especially nice! Maybe we could meet them sometime up at VIR or somewhere in between Hampton Roads and Raleigh for a Weekend Drive.

Speaking of weekend drives, from Greg's post the turnout was light but the fun was large. Hate I missed the first one but glad y'all were able to make it happen. I hope we can build on the idea and after a few drives we should have a pretty good idea of some nice road courses in the area. Anyone want to make the next drive for Saturday, Nov 5 to Wilmington for the Brits and Battleship Car Show? Should have the T-shirts back and ready for distribution. I'll have them at the Cracker Barrel that morning for anyone that wants to pick their's up before the drive or wants to join the drive.

Start thinking about the Deals Gap Rotary Rally for 2006. Phil has started soliciting comments on interest and participation for an April event, looking at the first weekend in April 7-8-9. The guys that went up last year have talked about renting a house in the mountains near Robbinsville and making that our weekend headquarters. We'll need to fill it up to make it affordable for everyone. So lets start saving money and making plans to attend the Rally, a big showing from the RRDI. Questions/Comments?

I hope you all will take advantage of the free admission to the race.
https://www.rx7club.com/se-rx-7-forum-35/ncmazda-4th-annual-rbq-%40-vir-october-29th-473434/

Some of you may remember me from the early days of the meets. I'm Matthew Fortner and own a black FD. I apologize for not making it more meetings. I've have intended to, but I've been slammed between the career, wife and tracking/maintaining the car. Looks like you all are still going strong and sustaining energy and enthusiasm for Mazdas.

I came to invite you all to a cookout and a race at VIR. I started browsing prior posts in the thread to catch up. I'm very disheartened reading through some of the posts. The references to MSCCNC are nearly all negative. Some insulting and even vulgar. It seems there has been unfair criticism lobbed among some folks in both groups. It is ironic that much of it is propagated by folks who have had no dealings with either group. I know at MSCCNC I am quick to dispel unwarranted negativity toward other groups. Ashraf's name in particular has taken a beating. He knows his personality has an edge to it. But I've seen him work over 12 hours into the night... morning actually... helping others with their cars. He's loaned out his garage and tools. I'm sure at some point we have all come across the wrong way. What's so damn funny is that I suspect this arose from a misunderstanding. But thats in the past.

As I said before, I hope you take advantage of the free admission to the race. Food will be available. Its a gorgeous drive to VIR and I saw the leaves were starting to change a week or two ago on my way up to the Rolex series.

Its a shame that we on both sides have allowed this to fester to the point of name calling. Looking back, I would have done some things differently by encouraging others to do the same. We should have confronted any issues person to person rather than let this linger. There are mal-formed opinions that I hope we can put aside. MSCCNC is not looking to control anyone. We have one goal which is to help others in their love for Mazdas. Many of us have track aspirations and all of us are interested in keeping them running.

Admission to the race is just one way we can reward those who work to fuel the passion for Mazda performance.

I apologize for my unfortunate comment...

Hey Folks,

I'm "the" John who made the "ricer" comment, but only as what I had heard from an apparently unhappy guy. Hearsay will get you in trouble every time. As you are quite aware I've not been to one of your meetings...

I apologize for the comment.

Yes, I was also the John at VIR (In August) drooling (was it that obvious? :-) ) over Johnny's 10AE. It is a beautiful car, and one day I hope mine looks as good.

I'd like to add to Matt Fortner's comments and personally invite all of you to attend the MSCCNC RBQ at VIR. Free entry to VIR is courtesy of the North Carolina Region SCCA (I'm a member there, too), and you will have an opportunity to take track tours at lunchtime in your own cars. I'll be driving my SRX7 in the races on Saturday and Sunday. The "big event" on Saturday is the 1.5 hour enduro. I expect that there will be between 75 and 90 cars in that race, and probably at least 1/3 will be Mazdas. While you are there feel free to ask any questions you want. Most of the drivers there are regular folks like us and love to answer questions about their cars and racing. Please also stop by my paddock area and say hello. I'd like to meet up with you.

Again, I apoligize for making the ricer comment, and invite you come see some good racing and have some fun and enjoy the food and company after the racing is done.

John and Matthew, first off thanks for coming on here and posting. For me, offer and apology accepted. Secondly, I wouldn't mind learning more about the "track" stuff and other aspects you guys have going on in the MSCCNC. Personally I have no problem with you guys and I invite you to visit us anytime we're eatting burgers or whatever we're doing. I'm sure there is alot I can learn from your group and I hope you guys could have fun just hanging out with us some.

Mary said her kids are both a Kid's size Medium. So go ahead and order em, and I'll get you the money ASAP.

Oh... and Saturday, David and I chased down ANOTHER Red S5 Vert... this guy's name is Taylor. He lives in the apartments near my house... which was funny, cuz we chased him down in the SRT-4. We gave him a card, and talked with him... he's had his car for a little while. He said that it only had 11,000 miles on it when he got it. NO FAIR! He's actually recieved one of our club cards before, so someone else must have seen him, too. Great work, guys!

Bert, please add the forum URL to the cards. I always write it on the back, but it would be nice to have it on there already.

WTF?? where do they meet up in Hampton Roads???? David is stationed in Norfolk, and he hasn't been able to find the RX-7 group up there at all. He was told that they tried to meet up in the past, but nobody came, so they died off.

The pic of the NSX and the white FC is gonna get me in trouble here at school... soooooo sexy!! Someday, my garage will have both of those in it! (As well as the Supra, of course!)

So where and when do they meet??

Oh... and David swapped my tranny for me on Monday. It took him an entire day, but Lindsay seems to be running fine now. I basically told him everything he had to do for the swap, and he did it... perfectly. I'm so proud.

I would have done it myself, but school and work come first.......... so I can afford the car. I have the best boyfriend EVER!!

I'm mad I didn't have time to do it myself, but this makes it more special.

Good job, thanks for renewing the contact with Keith. The last time he posted on here was after he'd just gotten his new 16" wheels on his vert. As I remember they were very nice wheels and he 'd gotten new canvas for his vert for Christmas so that must have been last March.

Congradulations on the Tranny. Thanks David for getting her road worthy again. now you've got a reliable car?

I got the info and will add 2 childs medium shirts to the order.

If I can find space on the card and keep everything big enough to read then I'll stick Greg's RRDI website on there until ours is up and working.

Anyone else for shirts? Friday is the last day to order.

I'll be in the mountains most of the week, Tennessee and NC, and won't get back home until late that Saturday. Y'all go and have fun, remeber to play nice, keep all our ricers away that weekend, and change your underwear and brake fluid before you leave home. I don't want to hear any reports of dirty underwear or brake fluid when I get back!

Remember the Drive-In this weekend, and anyone can pay me thru Paypal. I'll be picking them up on Monday, October 31st and will have them at the Nov 5 trip down to Wilmington for the Brits and Battleships Car Show for anyone that plans on making that drive.

Oh im also going to build a high CR na in my spare time, anyone have any suggestions for the motor? Since we have an engineering and motorsports facility im going to see if i cant TIG the rotors to high Comp 10:1 CR and use our CNC to make the rotors lightwieght.

its gonna be fun

Greg, I see from the list that you have signed up. THANKS! (I hope this is the right Greg...)

I just picked up over 50 tickets from SCCA tonight, and they said we can get more if we need them. I want to use all I got, and request more! Shake the trees and get anyone you know who likes Mazda sports cars of any type to come out and join us. Let's make this a great event for all of us.

The charity for the weekend is the Ronald McDonald House in Durham. All money raised goes directly to them. The North Carolina Region SCCA keeps none of it.

Normally I run #94, but for this event I have to run #14, so look for a white FB #14 and I'll be happy to answer any questions about road racing. I'll even have a digital camera and can take your pic in the race car, wearing a helmet (if it fits) if you want to be seen in an FB...
