Well, it happened....that moment when the **** hits the fan. I was trying to shift into 4th just cruising along on us-1 taking a friend home from church, then, *eghhngng----crunch!* *insert smell of char grilled clutch*. I have no idea what happened, at first I thought it was the clutch that just decided to leave without giving me a 2 weeks notice. But now that I think about it and after hearing my father's idea, it's becoming more and more likely that destroyed synchros are what await me inside therein. There is no clutch engagement whatsoever. No movement, nada. It's sitting out on US-1 southbound across from Smithfield's BBQ. My dad is going to try and tow it in the morning, and in the insuing days try to assess the situation. I really hope it's just the clutch, but I can feel that it isn't. If anyone would like to help at all this weekend, just let me know, call 919-757-5227 and leave a message if I don't answer. If it's the worst case scenario, look for another FC up for sale. I hate to lose it so soon, but I can't afford it, not while trying to pay of stupid cell phone bills and making a measley amount up at Staples.

I don't think I've ever heard of anyone killing a tranny, at least not in a while. I vote something else dumped on you and you'll get it fixed and be glad you did and kept the car.

 

Steve, I was working on the sites today and when I was doing the RRDI one it occured to me that of all the people who show up or have show up for the last year or so I don't have any pics with you in them at all. Just about everyone else ends up in a shot somehow or somewhere but you? Noooooooooo. Man if you have one, or someone else has one, or if you're gonna be here this weekend hook up with me or Bert so we can get you on there.

i saw a red fc infront of target today and also a brown looking fb infront of old navy in cary. the fc could have wannabefc maybe? i also saw josh going into best buy and i was expecting to see a RRDI card on my window or something when i came back out. i went to mazda today to order a damn small clip that holds the ebrake cable that goes to the left brake in place b.c i noticed it was missing and my right brake is sticking

Speaking of pictures, I was looking for the picture from Deals Gap. I wanted to post the pic of Dex and Pinky, the one where he is getting cuffed by the Graham County deputy. It is on the HD in a computer that had its operating system crash. I can retreive it thru the new PC if I can get the correct network connection but thought I'd ask if anyone could post it up on the forum if they find it.

Bert, i dont know if i'm going to be able to make it this weekend. I am in town, but Keeley is flying back in from Texas on saturday afternoon, but she might be delayed cus of the huricane they are having down there. Also, my cousin David that ya'll have met a couple of times, his sister died this morning so i dont know when i will be going down for the funeral. So i highly doubt i will be there.

 

Thats my cousin, leaning against the red TII, the other one is Jimmy, he's a good friend of ours.

 

Like i said b4, i think it is just something that he works on in his spare time, so i have know idea when it will be done. I will see when i go pick up my motor this afternoon.

I forgot to mention last time. He has an 87 basemodel out there that he want some body to come and haul it off. Its gray with burgandy interior, no motor or tranny, but it does have a good 5 lug conversion as well as a pretty nice set of GXL rims on it.

Oh... thanks Jesse for putting in your honest two cents on there. I don't know of any "ricers" in our group... I didn't even know a rotary COULD be rice. If it can, then that person should be required to give up their rotary driving privileges, and give me the car.

 

Yeah, John was up at VIR that day and invited us all to come over to their meet, I guess he liked us that day, he really liked Johny's 10th AE as I remember, 'cause none of the RRDI ricers were up at VIR!

Just enjoy it as lite reading and don't get too torqued over their comments. I don't know of anyone, including Ashraf, that has been "uninvited" from coming to the drive-ins. The attitude that still reigns with the MCCNC is the reason our group began 18 months ago. Ignorance and Intolerance obviously enjoy each other's company!
