Personally, I'd say the transmission is easy enough to remove, just yank it off first and then lift the engine out by itself. Then put the two back together when it's out of the car, just don't forget which tranny bolt goes where since they are all different lengths.

im gonna have alot of TII parts, anything anyone wants needs?
Easyest way i think is too remove the two together.
Make sure you drain you tranny fluid, it makes a mess when the drive shaft slides out. Also make sure you drain the coolant from the block It is over by the driver side engine mount in the center iron.
It is also easyest if you pull the wiring harness out of the car. You do so by pulling the carpet back on the passenger side and unhooking it from the ECU. There are a 5 or 6 connectors from what i remember. Some of them are hard to see. If you pull the harness this way, you dont have to take the intake manifold off while it is still in the car. It saves a lot of time.

Whats up fellas! I feel weird being online....not having acces to a computer for the past 10 weeks must have got to me...
Anyways hope you guys are doing great and it looks like the group is still going strong. I'm in Tx right now for my MOS. I won't be back in NC until sept or so....maybe later than that if I get a chance to sign up for airborne school. I was looking into getting a FD when I got down here but AIT soldiers can't have POV's......grrr
Sooner or later it will happen! I've got to get going....I'll try and get on here as much as I can, later!

here are pics of mt progress today, i started about 9 am and finished about 5:30pm. i took out the driveshaft, exhaust system up to the down pipe (the downpipe had been hallowed out), took off tranny brace, took off motor mounts, took of manifold, removed wiring. disconnected oil cooler lines, and i think thats it. because the engine is just really just floating there.

Damn FPD

EWWWW im all dirty except for my hands

heh oh yeah the engine and tranny are out of the car, all i did was lift the engine high enough so i could turn the engine sideways and sorta shoehorn it out. only thing i had to do extra was remove the shifter. but is it ever a greasy thing i tell you what.

Hey guys... I know some of you might be going down to the drag strip in F-ville Friday............ but do you think you could wait and go next Friday, or go again both weekends?? ...Cuz I don't think I will have the $$ to go until next weekend... plus I figured it would be cool to go to F-ville, then go to the drive-in meet the next day, so we all have something cool to talk about together.

How is Ft Sam Houston?
I need FeedBack
A thought happened to me last night as I was watching the Eagles concert on TV last night. We were talking at the last DI of having one meet at the Char Grill each month and do something as a group for the other DI, go to a drag strip, go bowling against an RX8 team, wonder up to VIR for a race or two, do a dyno date in Clayton, all ideas are welcome.
Why don't we take the RRDI on the road?
Johny drives down to Raleigh from Danville when he can find a running FC, why don't we caravan up to the Danville area one time this summer? Maybe we could get Dexter to come over.
We could also drive down to Clayton for a DI and then later have one in Rocky Mount just so that we could get Lee to a DI.
We still need to make the Down East Drive also. Anyone up for some summer driving. Need to get the rotaries out on the road and drive'm for a few hours to clean the engine out and knock the rust off the brakes and rotors.
Haven't heard from BI7 lately, maybe we could go west and meet him somewhere?
