In case anyone's looking to start a new project.
Add this to Capn's TII engine and transmission, maybe a good start:

Here's some pics of an 86 a co-worker's nephew has for sale
(he recently sold another that looked better for $50).
I don't have any details on the history/condition except
the engine is "seized", and the pictures,

Well im a 23 year old diesel truck mechanic and live in raleigh. I love to drift and do it as much as legally possible. I own 2 FC's. One is a 91 base model thats in nice condition and is my daily driver and former drifter. My other is an 87 turbo II that i have recently aquired. Its my drift car. What time do i need to be at Char-grill on saturday? I attatched a picture of my daily but i dont have a pic of the turbo yet.

The thermostat bolts breaking off are a problem, last time I changed out the thermostat on my FC one of the bolts broke off and I had to drill it out. I had to recut the threads since I messed them up a little and the tap broke off! I then had to go to a specialty tool shop and buy a hardened bit that would drill out the tap tool. That drill bit costs over $50 but finally got the thermostat housing tightened down to stop the leaks.

Tell me about alternator belts breaking! They need to be changed once a year to avoid loosing 'em at some very critical and embarrassing times.

Hey Jesse looking forward to meeting you and seeing your rides. The FC owners show up about 6:30 and we even have an FD owner that gets there on time now. We'll be meeting this Saturday, June 11 and then again on June 25th. It looks like we'll also have a few people to drive up to VIR on the 18th to support and enjoy the Mazda Drivers Event and run the course during the parade laps. We are also trying to get a group to caravan down to Rockingham on the 25th for the NOPI event. If you want to get your car on the road for some extended driving to clean the engine out the Rockingham trip is looking good.

Barry are you going to be there this Saturday to continue to document the membership and the cars? We got a start last Drive-In and should continue this until we have everyone digitally immortalized.

Joey, I'll check on the price for RP transmission oil tomorrow. I should get the case of 20W50 engine oil tomorrow. Josh do you still want 6 qts? Anyone else interested in trying out Royal Purple Syn oil and lubes on your cars?

Hey Jesse! I'm Christina. Yeah... that's right... a FEMALE rotary lover! I also drive the only yellow FC around. Unfortunately, I won't be able to meet you this Saturday, because I'm going out of town to a dyno run, but I do want to welcome you to the Raleigh Rotary Drive Ins Group.

See ya soon! If you ever need anything, feel free to PM me!

Heh, I'm glad I'm not the only one. My dad's coming over this afternoon with the necessary stuff to remove the bolt and we are praying it will work. Threw another alternator belt on and tightened well, but not too tight, it should be fine now. If it's not, I have spare belts hiding under the hatch carpet.

By the way, O perky one, getting your wiper switch on and off without managing to break anything in the plastic surround piece is quite an accomlishment, I would say.

It honestly doesn't look that bad with the camo job. I've never really liked em and still wouldn't do it on my own car but I think it definately has some potential. Do you have any plans to put a finish layer on? or a clearcoat?

Oh and don't worry tooooo much about being on time, i probably won't be there till around 7:30 or 8. But I'm also a 3rd gen guy.

Are we sure there is a meet this Saturday? I think i'm very confuzed.... and actually just checked the date so yea, i guess it is this saturday. Man, i completely lost track of the date being off for summer and all.

Where is the RX drifter? All I see in the picture is some grass, a dog house and part of a chair, what happened to the car?

Teehee... I feel special now.

...oh... and a wiper switch that has more than two settings (on and off) is WEIRD. I'm still trying to figure out what to DO with all the options. Of course I put it in the day AFTER the big-*** rainstorm.
