No, I'd love to do a project FD. I'm helping my girl look fo ra car and she wants an RX-7 and bad, so we have been looking for an FC but she doesn't want to spend 4000 on a NA but I can't find any good TIIs so I figured if we end up spending around 4000 to 6000 why not hust get an FD even if it's not in great condition. The Project FC and the Turbo RX-8 are still going ahead as planned. The turbo is on the 8 and it is running now all I have to do is reinstall the sway bar, transverse member, strut bar, and the fender well plastic and I should finish that tonight, after I finish watching the new STAR WARS. i crancked it up last night, man a turbo charged rotary and the sound of a BOV is the sexiest sound in the world! The project FC is going much slower than I had hopped the guy I bought the car from was kicked out of his garage, before he left he told me this other guy was suppost to be bringing me the title and I know of the other guy and have friends who know him, he is no where to be found, so right now I am nervous about dropping this rather expensive engine in.

Man you should see my garage you could almost build a rotary powered car out of the parts and bolts sitting around. I saw an FB in a junk yard the other day and I seriously thought about getting just to have it, and part out.

Well guys, I finally did it. I'm sure many of you saw this one coming. I went to Henry's Muffler in Raleigh and had a resonator welded in. Right now I'm running header --> cat --> resonator --> Y pipe --> N1's

The car actually sounds better. It's not so harsh... I notice it most when I get on it. The resonance is better at highway speeds too. The butt dyno does notice some sluggishness up top now. I bet I've lost a good 5hp. Oh well, the nitrous will more than make up for it all.

The car is hardly quiet, but it's more manageable. The noise didn't really bother me, and honestly it didn't even bother my girl. I actually put her on the spot and told her I was going to the muffler shop and wanted to really know what she thought of the exhaust before I quieted it down, and she said she didn't really mind it. Anyway, it bugs the hell out of my neighbors though and I'm living with my parents for the summer. Plus I get pretty damn nervous around the cops b/c it attracts so much attention. So it was long overdue, and I guess I'm satisfied for now--only because the nitrous will make up for the lost power.

Bert, did you put your shifter in yet?

Where is Dave these days? Haven't heard from or seen him in quite awhile. Do you here anything out of him?

Short Shifter Installed

Installed the short shifter from Mazdatrix yesterday and was that an easy job. The most trouble I had was cleaning up the mess under the shifter boot. The large boot had melted in several places and crunbled when I tried to remove it.

This was the easiest thing I've done on that car since the last time I had to add air to the tires. I even found some Royal Purple gear oil to add to the shifter tower. The shift is a whole lot stiffer than the old one but it is very crisp and short. Didn't have too much trouble adjusting to it though. Now what's next?

By the way... what do you guys think about taking a weekend to go down to the drag strip in Fayetteville? We could go down on a Friday night, and still have our meet on the Saturday, so we could all have something to talk about.

I'd love to go, and get some of those ricer kids to be put in their place!

We could go one night this summer... it doesn't cost much to get in, and it would be awesome because even the FD guys would be okay, since evenings in the summer aren't really that hot.

What you think?

Christina,

I've been planning a trip to Fayetteville with my car for a long time now. Steve said he wants to go after he gets his T2 on the dyno. I'm sure others like Josh and Rick would consider it as well.

LOL, but mine actually starts and stays running! I talk to Dave every now and then. He is graduating here in a couple of days. Its kinda funny, we are both gonna be going to UTI in charlette in september. It wasn't even planned that way.

Hmmm...would we be talking about going to watch...or going to race? My SE isn't going to be as fast as everyone else's turbo cars, but I'd like to run it to see just how fast it is.

i went to that too, lots of good craftsmenship and a bunch of rush jobs too. and i did hear a little boy exclaim "daddy daddy look a cobra thats the most rarest car ever....i think" made me chukle. but i had to say my favorite was the primer cadillac with flames on it. also some of the paint jobs were fantastic and some cars were very detailed. it was a nice little show

Bert & Ray. How much did you guys pay to have your whole car painted? i did something stupid today and screwed up the paint on one of my fenders. i have been wanting to get the hood and front end repainted anyways. I am probably going to just have him do the front clip(hood, front end, & fenders), and just wanted to get an idea of how much it would cost. I will call him later this week, but i am impatient and can't wait to have at least an idea.
