Hey guys... do y'all wanna go to the Charleston meet the weekend of June 11th? I'd love for a group of us to all go together. I'm gonna try to go, so let me know.

at the car show last night there was a red miata with a 302 in it. i dont know if anyone elts got to see it or not was parked off to the side.

Yeah, guys... we could go down to the strip to watch/race/etc... I know I wouldnt *necessarily* be racing... except for some laughs, maybe... and to put some dinky Honda in its place... but yeah.

We should definitely go one night... but I will need some notice if we're gonna go, unless we meet at the RX-7 meeting, then leave early and caravan down to F-ville. Cuz I know I'm taking off work for our meets from now on! I'm so sick of missing em!!

 

Christina, you are missed when you aren't there. We also miss the Barbed Wire beauty when you don't show up. Will we recognize her when we at last may gaze upon her rare beauty?

The drag racing sounds like a great time if we can get a group together. Does anyone have any info on the race track?

 

That's like a ~4-5 hour drive, I don't think I have anything else to do that weekend. You're not planning on driving back the same day are you? Well, I guess I'll go. PM me the details.

 

So you finally tried to roll the fenders? As far as paining goes ithe whole job was around $2400 for me but I had some body work done as well. I would estimate for a whole car painting it would run about $1500. Ray might have a more current idea since he just got his done.

Your best bet is to give Jeff a call and arrange a time to meet him, he shouldn't be too far from you. I don't have his business card with me today.

 

no my fenders actually didnt need rolling with the teins. i actually dropped a tool on the fender. tried to fix it myself, but made it worse.

I am thinking of getting the equipment to do it myself. my dad used to run a body shop back in the 70s, so he knows the techniques and we already have a compressor large enough, as well as the gun. it would be a matter of getting some heat lamps, and the paint. it will probably be more satisfying in the long run.

Craig is in the camera car, John is in the red FC and I am in the white FC.

The following weekend, we went to CMP in Kershaw SC for HPDE. After that, I was pretty much worn out. I would do it all over again though. Most fun i ever had with my clothes on.

here is something I came up with over the weekend, just an idea developed from the GRR logo. The file is too large to post. Will have to download it to photobucket and try again later.

 

im planing on putting them in tomorrow or wednesday if i can get away from the gf for the day to do the project i will try and get a couple pics.

thanks for the info Bert. I know he does a good job. Your & Ray's cars both look awesome, and obviously the paint has staying power which is important. I guess the reason I was thinking of gearing up to do it myself, is because I am resurrecting my Fiero, and it will need a paint job. Once you have the equipment it is just a matter of paint and patience. Again, I am fortunate because my dad has about 7-8 years experience as a body/paint guy, and knows all the techniques. I will probably start practicing on the Camry. Since a perfect job on that isn't 100% important.

However, I am going to give him a call. If the price is right I might just forego tooling up right now. I might just have him do the fender until I can do the rest later.

 

Yes, you should get the equipment to do it yourself, and perfect the techniques while painting your own cars. Then, you should help me paint mine very cheap.
