Just a teaser. The odometer pic is blurry, but yes...that's 75,978 miles.

Well that was easy enough, now I dont have to ask you .

Yeah, can't you drill the little hole in those thermostats and be alright for a while? Just a thought- I think I read that on here somewhere too...

Edit- I just saw those pictures- did you take them with you new cam Collin?

Yeah I took them with the GoPro camera...it takes crappy stills. The video quality is much better.

On the other side of things, my dad and I got my 'new' car home. She's a 1988 GXL dressed in Arctic Silver with a blue interior. 75,000 miles on the clock and an autotragic transmission. The transmission was slipping pretty bad when we finally got her started, so I added some of that Lucas crap. The problem is pretty much gone now but there's still a bit of a judder when you're going up an incline.

No pictures yet, but I will tell you that the hood was so badly oxidized and stained with GA red clay paw prints that I had to wet sand it last night. There's still places where I didn't sand well enough. But after the sanding and the polishing and the wax the paint looks great.
AUTOMATIC?????????????? I would have had to let it sit there. no fun. I hope you get that changed soon Collin.

Hey Collin, give that auto a chance, you might like it. I was driving a rental with an auto for the last week and it weren't bad, shifted faster than I do.

Collin, is that a grave yard you got fenced in in your front yard? Whose buried there?

More engine photos coming soon, as per request.

LOL Ray, that's the 'Central Bark'...a lil potty area for the little dogs so they can't escape and run into the street.
Do you happen to have a timing light and know how to reset the timing?

Holly, I know...Autotradegy...but I could NOT pass up Arctic Silver...Blue Interior...75,000 miles and no chassis corrosion.

Collin, you are nobody if you don't have a timing light and know how to use it. Of course I do, I'll bring it.

I agree the car is pretty and has potential. What you doing with the blue one?

I won't have the car at the meet. Since you're so close, what would you think about coming over one day helping me with that? There's a free drive in the FC in it for ya :-D

No, I don't have the Rx2 any longer, I traded it for a nice Mitsu Starion, and a couple weeks later I traded the starion for a 12A powered Datsun 510. Then the 12a powered 510 turned into the purple 71 Celica, which was sold to build the Grey Corolla GTS (with blue wheels) and purchase the grey 77 Celica GT hatch. (All three of these cars were at the OSJC car meet. (Whew! what a history. This was in the last two years.)

You cheeky little monkey! You're just popping up everywhere today, aren't you? Except meets... lol

Ray, the car is kinda immobile right now. But from what I've read the timing wouldn't cause the temperature issues I'm having so it's cool.

Plan of attack...

-Install undertray
-Install fan shroud
-Install clutch fan (ditching the Flex-A-Lite e-fan)
-Install T-stat when it gets here

Assuming I get it all done before Tuesday night and the temps behave themselves, everyone will see my 75,000 miler at the meet!

It should prove interesting though because I'm sort of involved with the possibility of hauling *** to New Orleans in the morning to assist in the evacuation of about 600 animals before the storm hits. If we can't find me a truck by the morning though, I'll have to wait until after the storm is past to try and pick up the pieces.

Stu, you best get your *** down to the meet on Tuesday if you value your wedding vegetables! I've seen enough neuters to know my way around a set of ********* and a pair of scissors!

The duralast thermostats at AutoZone are as good or better than Mazda OEM, for about 1/4 the price.
