I was too amazed to take some pictures, but now that I've cooled down a bit I'll get some for you guys.

Over at Gene's next week, I stop by and take some shots.

This is one incredible pick up truck, you won't believe it.

No, all of it is 100% true, not Fake News. A 1932 Ford pick up truck like you've never seen before.

Fake News is a device Trump picked up from the Russians in his attempts to undermine American democracy.

Republicans and Trumpists believe Fake News because it pumps up their egos and supports their fascist agenda.

But us Real Americans insist on the Truth and we totally reject Trump's Fake News.

For example, a 1932 Ford pick up truck with a bridgeport 12A and a couple Del Hortos pumping the fuel.

You guys should see this thing, it's something to behold.

Or better, hear it running, you know it's coming a mile away.

It fits right in cruising down the rural roads here in Jefferson, really quite a site.

Takes you back to a simpler time when con men worked at the carnival, not the White House.

Pics or it didn't happen Paul. Let's see, you've got a black SE and a black Miata. What else?

I sympathize, I used to have a gloss black 1967 Volvo 122, hardest car in the world to keep clean.

I'll get some pics of Gene's '32 Ford pick up Tim, it's everything I've reported and more, the Ultimate 12A Statement.

I'm trying to talk him into painting it Canary Yellow.

And yes Ray the RX7 is up after this project is done.... Twin turbo's and all.

Is that a Subaru?

It looks like it's got one of them Subaru Boxster engines in it.

Even says so on the grill.

Gonna have a this in it.

Gonna go with a V6, to get the V8 in there you have to sacrifice too much. And I can't fit my roots blower and that's half the reason for the car.

Na, M96 is expensive and complex. Come on, I own an RX7 I like simple and cheap. lol

Also, the 4.3's accessories line up perfectly with the M96's accessories. All I really have to do is make adaptors to the fittings to get the A/C, power steering, and alternator to work.

The 350 or LS engines are too long (by about two cylinders) for the engine bay. This should be a relatively bolt up affair (famous last words).

I will have to weld up a "custom" oil pan, and obviously some motor mounts. But i'm stoked to go and pickup this new project.

No, no,no. I was referring to taking two VW 411's, cut them in half, weld together to make a flat six, then roots blower through two Nikkis.

If you're going for something odd....

I did think about doing a Honda 2.4 engine from an Accord (the one from like 2007 ish) and putting a blower on that. I don't know much about Honda outside of the motorcycle world.

I kind of want to do that just to raise hell amongst the Porsche people, but that truck engine just might twist the right amount of panties in the Porsche crowd.

I don't know about pistons and valves, I hear they're unreliable and cause pollution.

But a 12A would snug in there just right. Pretty as can be.

Why don't you bridgeport a 12A and plug that beast into your Subaru? With one of your modified Nikki's?

The Porch people would **** their pants.

Best thing since a Wankeled '32 Ford Pick Up Truck.

Not nearly enough power. Unfortunately, it would cost a lot of money to get 400hp out of a rotary reliably. And its not like this is an RX7 where I can pull an engine for rebuild in 20min.

That's what's so wonderful about a sand rail with a rotary. Pull the engine in 4 bolts. Light weight enough so 150hp will push it along just fine.

If ever I was to put a rotary engine in something other than a Mazda car it'd be a sand rail.

Electronic Ignition

Does anyone have an electronic distributor and/or ignitors for sale? Also, are there any strong opinions on the old '80 vs '81-'85 ignition setup question?

The 80 electronic ignition is suboptimal. You want to use the 81-85 dizzy which outputs a better signal. For ignitors and coils stock works ok but HEI ignitors and solid state coils (Ford or GM E coils work really well) in a DFIS setup is the hot ticket. Check out the link in my signature below for one how-to for a DFIS. There are many flavors out there.

James, a turboed 13B in that subaru would work. Ray is correct that porsche-o-files will sheet their pants when it braps braps up to the C&C. Of course that big V6 with a blower will also knock them for a loop as well. The key is to do it so you can't tell whats in there until the hood opens. That way they have to come around and look at it.

If you want to see something funny, just open the hood of my car at a C&C and watch the Ferrari guys look in there and shake their heads.

I have a newer 81-85 dizzy for you Max. I'll have to dig it out of the shed, clean it up and add igniters.

Let me know if you're still looking.

James, if you don't put a turboed 13B in that sweet Subaru of yours, I'll be disappointed.

So will the Rotary Gods.

And you know what that means.

But like Tim says, show up at a Porch meet with a Wankel under the hood and you will get noticed.

Ray,

I bought a remanufactured one from Rock auto. Came with igniters. Cost about $220, but that seemed like the best deal I could find online. Thanks for following up!
