Clutch fun!
This weekend, my son and I put in a new clutch slave cylinder, stainless steel flex line and master cylinder in my 1985 GS. What a pain in the (^&*^$%&*())(!
I could not believe how much stuff is in the way of the line and slave cylinder.
But the real fun was the master cylinder. That top nut is as close to impossible to reach as I have seen in a long time.
WARNING: I ordered a replacement master cylinder from Rock Auto. After we got it in, when we got the nuts tight, the master cylinder still wobbled around in the engine bay. We had to bust rear to get the new unit out. What we found was that the un-threaded portion of the studs was so long, the nuts ran out of thread before the master cylinder was tight against the firewall. We has to get replacement nuts and another master cylinder from Auto Zone (for 50% more cost). Well this time we checked, and the Auto Zone unit was the same way. We ended up removing the studs from the original unit and putting them in the Auto Zone unit.....R&R the master cylinder 3 times and 4.5 hours. My son said next time he will pay someone to do it so he does not have to help me again. What a day!
Nice wheels Tim, but of course not as nice as waffles or LE wheels. But good for daily driving for sure, you won't mind getting them scuffed up.
Greg, was that you who called my self phone about a master cylinder recently? I discovered the message today about someone looking for a master cylinder, but my cell phone is pretty stupid so I couldn't figure out who it was. So I apologize for not getting back to you, or whoever it was.
And yes, replacing the clutch cylinders on a 7 will try men's souls, that upper master cylinder bolt especially is a bitch. But now that the deed is done and your clutch is clutching, congratulations and welcome to the club!
But your son may still need more training before he takes possession of the FB, a true rotorhead does his own work.
Hey Brett, is that a 10 Rotor you got?!

I put this on Facebook but thought I'd ***** it out on here too. I got the FD back together this weekend with new suspension and wheels. It looks 1000 times better!

Soo I recently got my rx7 back up and running but I found out my windshield wipers dont work. I ended up changing out the switch and that didn't change anything it still only working every now and then and its only the slow speed that works. The last time it worked the passenger side was faster than the driver side to the point that they would hit. Can anyone help me?

As someone else put it, they are 'Linton-Spec' tails. I tore into a stock set, painted the diffusers like the 99 spec lights, and added LED rings behind the diffusers and put int LED bulbs. Very happy with the end result.

We'll see the real deal at the February 2, 2016 OGTA meeting.
If Mr. Brett 10 Rotors can get it down the driveway.
Sadly the Feb OGTA meet is on my wife's birthday... It's real, I promise!
Brett, it looks really good, I did the jdm conversion to my taillights a couple years ago. what led rings did you get? do you want to sell your factory wheels?
