T rangle thanks for the heads up but for one I'm not a wrench, two really not a vert kinda guy, three, swaps don't meet the bucket list requirement. ( cause I'm too impatient and looking for original stock). If I was as smart as you guys, had tools (wow that doesn't make sense does it?) and a place to work on it I might take on a project. Ill be keeping my eyes open for the perfect 87-88 black TII and eventually it'll show up and yeah, I'll have to pay $8-12k for it. But when I see it I'm a gonna buy it. After that, same criteria for black FD. Oh and that pic of all the 7's lined up (Farrell pic) behind the hand dipped bra is something I can't wait to be a part of..!! Sounds like the perfect weekend activity to me!!

Mike, the FB will be on the road soon, I guarantee it. I'm not going to tell you when or how but believe me, it's going to happen. I have people working on it, smart people, not like those idiots in Washington. It's going to be terrific, I guarantee.
Most likely, but not absolute. Both changes were made mid-run but not at the same time. You'll need another FB guru to tell you which came first or how to tell.

Paul, let me let you in on a secret.

You can change your profile anytime you want. That's how I got to be the Wankel Whisperer.

Just go in there an make you something good, like Savannah Joe, or something like that.

Thanks Crit for the info, now I'm bewildered as ever. We will get down to it when we start wrenching.

That's when the trannies meet the rear ends and 83 vs 84 counts. I'm hoping I've got the big bearings, whatever that means.

Anybody going to DGRR?

I just got the FD back together Friday evening thanks to Alex's motivational support. Now it only leaks a little bit of oil... haha

I'm going to DGRR. I'm leaving on Thursday afternoon, as usual. Anyone joining the caravan from North Atlanta? I need to start a thread for it.

This is how the rear of the engine looked right after I sprayed degreaser on it to soak, I might have already hit it with brake cleaner, not sure. After this another can of brake cleaner had it looking much better.

The transmission bell housing was caked in crud, it was so bad I used a plastic scraper to clean it. I got it this clean and called it good.

Here are the 2 breaks in the rear stationary gear o ring.

New Exedy clutch kit and resurfaced flywheel.

And the last picture I took before I put the transmission back in.

So far it's done ~120 trouble free miles.

Wow, you guys covered a lot of territory since I was last on. The picture of the guy in the black bra takes us to a whole new level of depravity. We never cease to amaze ourselves.

Yeah, I forgot that we went FBs in 80. Glad to know Ray still has the beehive. Probably worth an additional 10hp on the butt dyno.

Nice work Brett.

I'll be headed up to DGRR Thursday. Anyone else headed up?

Mike, you are a typical Republican, jumping into a story without knowing the first half.

The guy with the black leather bra was a reference to Paul's fetish for putting leather on the front of his SE, nothing more.

The deleted photo was about Tim's spray on bra, but more about that later.

I'm thinking DGRR should be a long weekend myself, Thursday should be good for me.

Anybody got a weather report?

Where do I join?

I'm putting next year on the calendar. I may be moving sooner to GA. Looks like possibly April 10-11 to drive down from Akron Ohio. Car carrier for the 7. All of you going to DG be safe, keep it on the road, have fun, take pics and post lots so us losers can see what we're missing!!

Mr. Tools, if you planned it right, you could hit DGRR on our way from Akron down to Savannah, if you leave a bit later, like April 14-17.

You go right by Deals Gap, all you need to do is hang a right at Ashville, you'll be there in 30 minutes.

Come on down, introduce yourself and the SE. Bring a sleeping bag if you like to drink beer. Or that other stuff.

Wish I could. It's simply not possible. This move is proving to be quite an ordeal. On top of that I'm not comfortable, literally, driving my 7 long distances. It wears me out. I put new rubber around the doors from green dragon and they leak like a siev noisy. I have a new set of Mazda brand seals that I'm bringing with me to reinstall in Savannah.hoping that helps. Driving around short distance, joy riding, is about all I do with it. It's not a quiet comfortable ride at highway speeds long distances.

Tool, Im also in Savannah and recently picked up a 79. If you need anything once you're down dont hesitate to reach out! Not sure what all I could do but the offer is always there lol

*edit* no offense implied but why is everyone here always from Ohio? Theres probably equal parts buckeye, bulldog, **** fans in this city but I always seem to bump into the buckeyes. Ive always been curious what brings Ohioans here of all places.

Well I can only speak for myself but being a tool and die maker is an old trade. Not many of us out there these days and I was invited to interview for a position because they said they can't find any in the south. Most of us tool maker-machinist, because industry was so prominent in the Great Lakes, are from the north. I'm going to be 60 this April and been self employed 36 years but business has "gone south" pardon the pun. I'm just glad I'm coming to Savannah. Fell in love with the area first visit.

Its not hard to do! Savannah is a beautiful place, if only they can get the crime stats in check it would be perfect! As for lack of snow here, the reason people choose to move down south is the same reason I have chosen never to leave! You can't beat the year round summer though I would take a shot of snow here and there to get rid of the humidity.

Have a safe trip down! Looking forward to seeing your TII one day
