Old guys with 12As club meeting
Anyone interested in joining some rotorheads at Ted's Montana Grill in Marietta tomorrow evening for dinner? Donnie Bragg works there and said he would reserve us a table. Let me know if you are able to join us.
Ok, sorry Donnie this will not work out tonight, since Kristy and I are the only ones that are going to make it, and our out of town guest is staying in Decatur. He will have to travel back home up I-75 tomorrow, so it doesn't make economic sense to travel that far tonight, just to drive back again so soon. Thanks for the offer to serve, it would have been great to see you again. You need to work on a meeting on that side of town.
Anyone that's still interested in joining for dinner tonight, I'll post up, once a location and time has been determined.

Just an update if you want to meet a few rotorheads tonight. Dinner 8PM, Shorty's Pizza, 3701 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084 Shorty’s Pizza
I really don't know, the front looks correct but the rear seems off. I compared the pics to ebay and the one on the right looks more like a first gen one since it's got the 4 circular nub things on the edges of where it bolts to the water pump pulley. I don't believe FC's have those, it's a perfect circle.

I guess the guy with my old 85 GS is parting it out now. Maybe I should go buy the blue air filter cover back for memories sake

I'll give you $15 for that minty blue intake cover Brett, those are hard to find.
So I think the fan clutch is from an earlier S2 (81-83) 12A, not an SE. I wonder how that got in the parts shed.

This the place? I'll give Paul a call, thanks Holly.
Also I found this really nice rebuild video, I'm inspired:

Interestingly, my 9 year old daughter rather enjoyed the video.Mr. Brown sent this from his C771 using RX7Club app.
I hope to see some expert rotor heads at the OGTA meeting tomorrow night, I have even more inspiration for folks who like to rebuild 12As.
I have seven 12A rotor housings in various states of wear, I need some opinions on what to look for for a good rebuildable pair.
Plus one 12A rotor that is beyond repair, due to apex seal malfunction.

i'll be there ray. probably bill too. he asked bout the wife coming and i told him they'd probably be other wives/GF's there.
as for rotor housings, u want as little chrome flaking as possible. minimal chatter marks. no erosion of the aluminum in the O ring areas.

Holly, that's GA Tim, you know, the guy with the inverted prostate?

He's the Dude on the left. The last record I have of him is circa 2008:

So, there's at least one 12A left in the Greater Atlanta area. I spotted this one today (9-5-12) in the Hamilton Mills WalMart parking lot. Anybody know who belongs to it?

Better late than never.......
9-4-12 12A count
1 SA = 1.5 12A (Gene)
2 FC = 1.25 12A's (Kristy, Brett)
1 FE = .125 12A (Holly)
3 Boingers = 0 12A's (Crit, Billy, Ray)
Total 12A count = 2.875

Wow! Thats almost a tie for the very first OGTA with just Mike and Ray.
I guess the rain washed it out for a lot of folks. I know it did for me (well, and work got in the way as well ).
Pics?

As in, Good Things Never Die.
Nothing beats a hand crafted Old School Rotary.
Nothing.
Just wait 'til next spring, when Billy finally finishes his Mythical REPU and Crit rolls out the CopperTone Hauler

And Gene shows up with his New Mean Gene Machine

And Jeremy's got the the Pumpkin Patch in the neighborhood

Who knows, John just might find some wipers for Snow White and come on down to a state that still votes Republican

And a swarm of well-loved SA's and FB's will fill the parking lot, just like the Good Old Days.
Including, of course, Ray's newly resurrected White One II

Just wait.

Who knows, there might even be some FC's, D's and E's.
