long time no post. this place is dead.

so it turns out i have spent an entire day working on the FB. everything went smoothly, i replaced the alternator and belt, removed the a/c and air pump, then blocked off the intake manifold hose to prevent a vac leak, tuned her up with a new cap, button, plugs, and ngk cables. then i cleaned the carb with a half can of sea foam, put the other half in the tank. after all that, i swear the car has at least 10 more hp. anyways...derrick, do you have any performance mufflers you could sell me? anything will work, magnaflow, catback,flowmaster,matrix... doesn't matter, i just need one. stock replacement mufflers are too damn expensive.

ya the fc alternator will built up and hook up to the stocks harness.the fc radiator will work with some fabing.the fc radiator was ment to be used at a slant so you would have to fab some brackets up . but i dont recomend it, just use the fb one i think it looks better

Its running ok, builds full boost by 2.5k and holds it well into redline. Pics were taken 3/22/09 up at the police training grounds across the street from Walters State community college, at the WSCC AutoCross event. The 'balding' rear tires were definitely holding me back as it had a tendancy to kick out once the body rolled to one side or the other, plus the quick boost made for a quicker slide.

well as far as the radiator goes, i found one for a FB in maryville for 30 bucks. have to go to pull-a-part and 131 automotive friday. pulla-part to pick up a fan, and 131 for that alternator. i have a feeling the FC alternator upgrade will be good for the Efan conversion. also had my pipes widened to 2.5" the other day going into a magnaflow muffler, we'll see how long the muffler lasts. i give it 6 months before it's completely toasted lol. after the Efan and radiator, tax return is going into buying a header & intake emissions removal.

yeah....cheap mufflers + rotary = new muffler once a year. Ive got a cheapy $40 ebay muffler on the FC right now, not as earsplitting loud (illegal) as the previous, but still flows the same and has lasted as long, or longer, than the $160 autozone pos.

Drove around a bit more today in teh starquest...she definitely does not like wet roads, as wet=no traction until about middle of 3rd gear.

sounds like you need to start bugging them constantly to get your parts to you. if youve already paid they should have sent it out by now at least... it cant be THAT hard to send parts they should have on hand.

well you would think . ive been bugging them.when i first bought them he told me that he would send the carb kit that week and the turbo the week after.well its been two months now.when i call him he says that he has it ready to ship but he dont have time. then its oh ill send it tomarrow then ill call you and give you a tracking number.bullshit. i not worried that hes going to take my money i read his feed back and he just takes a long time to long if you ask me.well i cant do anything to my car im pretty much on hold the only thing that sucks if i do get my parts soon im going to be rushing to get them installed before dgr.

Man dont rush, if you need help holler at me and ill come put a wrench or two in. Though how can you be so damned busy that you CANT stop at ******* UPS on your lunch break or have UPS come out and PICK IT UP... sounds more like he needs to stop being lazy. I would probably never deal with the guy just from the feedback of "Takes a long time to ship" especially if i was needing something asap. I waited 2 months for a radiator once...never came so I canceled the order and got the money back...

yeah thats the crazy part, i got this muffler for $25. it was pulled off an integra, the guy didnt want it b/c it wasnt loud enough for him. it only had 2000 miles on it when i bought it last week.

derrick, are you still going to be able to help me tomorrow? just let me when and what time to meet if you're still up. i can come get you if necessary.

That depends on two things.

1) a running rotary that will take me to and from the event.
2) enough gas to take me to and from the event + maybe 2 trips up and down the mountain.

Spent the last couple hours getting the new calipers cleaned up a bit, still need to hit them with the dremel and an abrasive bit, but so far they cleaned up well. Still need to clean em up further, paint them, remove the old calipers (all four) and replace the entire system with the 'heavy duty' stock stuff.

I should be for the most part aside from my venturing into the garage to clean up my calipers.
