Well you used to be close >.< But yeah screwport's slightly reforming....now if they would just deport 90% of the illegal's over there I might consider driving through that area once more...but as it is I hate going thru newport for anything other than visiting my aunt, whom is usually over here more than not.

Though what year thunderbird? I used to own a 94 with the 4.6L V8 and C4 automatic....destroyed the autobox's gears 3 times in a year and a half and managed to have a drunk rip off the front bumper. Sold the still great V8 for 250, bought a saturn...sold the saturn for my 1st 7, which after buying several more its still the only 7 I have deemed reliable enough to keep.
mines a 95.. with the 4.6l.. and how the hell did you get a c4 auto behind a romeo block 4.6??? they came with 4R70W 4spd autos.. which my torque converter is going out.. lol

Hey thats just what I was told by the "Ford Certified" mechanic I took it two to have the trans rebuilt twice. Apparently that particular transmission in my bird was a failure in almost every 94 Tbird ive heard stories about (mine and several old co-workers who've had them). Just couldnt see how I could shatter gears in an autobox but I guess it happens, and my uncle had already put in a second transmission before I got the car, engine ran great but that trans just sucked so much ***, never heard problems out of the 95 and up's.

But Im trying to steer clear of automatics in general...id rather change clutches than have to deal with torque converters and shattering gears when the bitch decides to not slip into gear like it was told to.

lol well lets see.. the main problems with the 94/5's were the .. intake plenum/manifold/throttle body being at the back of the motor and being so godawfully restrictive.. and the early 4R70W's were complete ****.. ive had this one rebuilt twice and ive ALREADY found shavings and little black specs in my fluid.. also the valveseats on the 94/5 heads had a tendency to become unseated... and cause a shitload of blowby and god knows what else.. lol and theres a huge problem with cracking vacuum lines going to/from the EGR valve.

problems with the 96/7's.. (as i have one of these too.. lol) ford decided to go with a top mount throttlebody ontop of a composite intake manifold.. that cracked.. like something awful.. they did a recall in '01 for all 96/7 tbirds with the 4.6's to be brought in and have another composite intake manifold with an aluminum coolant crossover.. which helped alot lol.. also another problem with these cars... 2 peice driveshafts.. 2 steel tubed one inside the other mated witha thing seal of RTF.. (yea i said RTF)... i love(ed) tbirds.. but after this 95.. no more.. i beat the **** out of the other 3 MN12's (89-97 tbirds & cougars) i had/have and they just came back for more.. i baby this one as my DD and it falls apart on me... WTF!... lol

haha yeah, loved my old bird, but just couldnt stand replacing transmissions. Ive beat on my 7 awefully hard and she seems to love it enough to not completely fail on me, just sputter and cough to get my attention and say "Fix this please?" And usually it gets fixed in a timely fashion, though ive put off replacing the injector grommets for at least 3 years now.

On another note ive already looked the new classifications up for SCCA, the NA will still remain in CSP, unless I drastically alter the suspension, and the Conquest will run in either Gstock or ESP (no clue why it gets bumped from GS to ESP...had I left the NA stock it would have been an ES car o.O) So with that out of the way I probably wont have much competition with running the quest, just need to figure out what one will be more fun (which I already have a feeling the NA will be since I can hold redline longer.)

Someone just put a GSL-SE up on the market here locally >>> http://knoxville.craigslist.org/car/775043278.html

Looks pretty nice! Hell, for 3500 it better be. Also, I think I spend too much time on Craigslist. I might need to get help.

Yeah, I remember seeing at least two. Derrick... I think we both need help. We should start an anonymous support group.

Ah you bastards!!! You went without me and took it all! Anything good left? There's two new first gens up this week, an 82 and a 79 SA. There's not gonna be anything left after tomorrow though. I'm at least going to pull a radiator. With any luck, the Cheeto will be completely leak free by next weekend for the first time in years.

So what did you and J end up with Cody?

I think he wants a sixteenfiddy. And it's a first gen, that's what's wrong with it.

Up on the schedule this weekend for the Cheeto... Alignment! Carb rebuild and tune! And if I have time, oil change and clutch slave rebuild! Maybe a radiator swap? Or even some rear carpet, depending on what's left at PaP.

I don't bother with the Dragon on weekends. Because everyone else does. I gotta get stuff taken care of on the Cheeto. Got at least one person coming to look at it next week.

Also, anyone got a timing light I could borrow?

could be the same issue mines having cody, old injector Orings/grommets will cause vacuum leaks and wierd spray patterns. $3 per grommet from your local mazda stealership and 20 minutes of your day and that will fix a number of things.
