At first I hated it because I thought it had problems. Nothing I tried when tuning seemed to work but it was not the Microtech.

I did not have enough fuel pressure to fire the secondaries. I did not think Fp was a problem because I had a new walbro255 and rewired it with ten gauge wire and what not.

It was when I bought the Fp regulator and it never could make enough pressure I knew something was wrong. Long story short my gas tank had so much crap in it that it instantly clogged up my fuel sock as soon as i replaced it. I figured this out when I replaced my sock and the car ran flawless for a mile.

Anyway I think Microtech is amazing but compared to the Haltech I’m not sure. I believe the Microtech is a little behind on software and the hand set plugs in with a serial port instead of USB which is a little old school. But the program is great and easy to get the hang of.

If Jeremy and I are going Microtech maybe you should because you would have lots of help and know how by the time you got yours. Or maybe you shouldn't so we can see what one seems better or easier.

Sorry if no help

Eh, Id rather get my unsightly interior components squared away so I can have proper gauging to keep tabs on things under the hood. As for my suspensio, yes its old, and yet even for its age I can keep all you ******* at bay up on the mountain, turbo or not, and excuses like "but i dont want to push my car" dont cut it anymore, youve done auto-cross and managed to do just fine pushing then, so whats wrong with pushing on a surface that has some banking to help cope with the G's? And furthermore, why not try building an engine that doesnt pop after a few hundred miles hmmm? money well spent on seals yet reused an iron that should have been scrapped, and cost said rebuild. Until a shock/strut, spring, or bushing totally fails im going to prolong my upgrade, and it wont happen still until i have a secondary means of transport so the car can go to a shop to have it properly done, and so "I" dont smash any more fingers or lose my patience and hit something too hard. Ive grown rather tired of seeing my interior degrade around me and im doing something about it soon, thats more than others can say.

Whooaaa Derrick, calm down there, buddy. For one, yeah I seem to remember staring down your rear bumper last time I followed you up on the tail in the TII, and I'm sure Charlie remembers keeping up in a first gen as well. So enough of this "I'm king of the goddamn mountain" stuff. And there's no trees/cops/cliffs at autocross. I can understand people not wanting to push their cars up there... maybe they have consideration for their own lives and other people.

Is your hood steel or aluminum? If you're going to spend the money on carbon fiber, why not start there? Gauge surrounds aren't exactly a big deal to replace anyway... hell, I've got a spare sitting in the garage and I'm sure you have a few as well.

hahahah so emotional i wasnt trash talking anyone and didnt mean it to be offensive but if thats the way u want to play it i will.

your car isint pretty not known u long but i doubt it ever has been..nothing wrong with that just took u for someone who cared about performance rather then looks is all

the only guage that is in need or replacement is the temp guage and it dosent require abunch of useless carbon fiber to install it. if u want to look pretty just paint the thing pink and get some stock interior pieces. if u want to shed a few pounds how about u start by removing the stupid so 1990,s subs u have in the back bins.

and yes i admit i was stupid for reusing a broken iron, but that still dosent take away the fact that i could build a motor 10x better then u

your all talk and no play derick.u have a bunch of knowledge but u cant make use of it, and in reality u have no idea what the hell u are talking about on half the stuff u say.

Yes the hood's steel, and will stay that way since aluminum bounces too much for my tastes, and im not putting hood pins on the car just to have someone bust/steal the hood. I dont see a need to spend 600+outrageous shipping for a hood when mine is perfectly intact. Im replacing what is inferior and will only get worse with more time, and it just happens that CF fills the slot just nicely. FYI its not a gauge surround, it mounts atop the dash over the gauge hump, and my hump is peeling and bubbling hideously. And stereo surrounds will always break, wether brand new S4 OR S5, so im nipping it in the butt and getting another slot for gauge solutions and a better place to mount the stereo too.

But anyway i dont need the front end any lighter as it is, i have other things that take priority over a 'cosmetic' upgrade as hoods go.

yes I do care more for performance than looks, thats why it took me 3 years to even consider a new windshield, ziptieing my front bumper back together, repainting the car, putting vert wheels on (less weight and looks better). And the gauges, I dont trust a linear gauge that doesnt have actual numbers on it, and id rather have 2 of one than not at all. Oil temp is key to a prolonged engine, oil pressure as well, and coolant temp from a different location would be nice to referance. As stated above Im looking for better mounting solutions than an A-pillar mount since EVERYONE has one and I want something a bit more unique than that. I have stock bits for the interior but again, aging plastic will BREAK again and again, and im tired of replacing **** thats only going to break again. Ask anyone whos replaced a stereo surround, they always break, even the ones bought from MAZDA in the original bag will break rather quickly. And since Id like to have a spot to mount gauges and other items of interest, like a switch or two for certain things or a better mount for my safc and maybe even mount the secondary V1 viewer there as well. Its not a stupid idea, its an invested idea for the long run, same as the other parts ive stated, since replacing the dash is more time consuming and mine is prefectly fine everywhere else but over the drivers side hump.

And it shows how much YOU know when you thought having no thermostat was a GOOD idea, when everyone told you to use one. I can build a block, i have a half dozen cores sitting around at the most, and im sure between them i have enough usable parts to only need seals. But truth is I want something built right the first time so its going to someone I trust to port it (which I dont trust myself to do for certain reasons) and give me a warranty on.

As for my subs, they get to stay. Since im also going to refab the entire "Bin" section to enclose the subs better. I like my music more than I do weight savings at times. Car's emphasis is on cornering potential not 1/4 mile potential, IF i wanted that there are plenty of V8's i would be more than comfortable with building up to do the job, or other platforms, but an RX7 is not that platform, which is never what the vehicle was intended to do. Once done I just want something dependably reliable with a decent sound system and enough oomph to keep a grin on my face, which it does just fine as it is, else I wouldnt have sold my 4.30 rear gears, even though i still have a Phantom Grip lsd conversion kit sitting here still if I ever felt the need for it.

Since the car is daily driven back and forth often (y'know 40mile total commute to work once again), I get to see the inner flaws im not happy with and as such Ican fix them in an hour or twos time, or over the course of being on lunchbreak while at work. Things like pulling the motor for a new rebuild or suspension upgrades or even body work require day's or week's of time I cant afford to let it sit for. So yes, its going to looke minorly rice inside, but long lasting, fulfilling rice that puts a grin on my face and keeps prying eyes out of my wiring harness's.

AND im still debating what kind of suspension setup is best for what "I" want it to do, and as such im still researching things to get the overall picture and scope of what needs to be done and HOW it needs done and why it needs done. Im still learning yes, but my knowledge grows with every turn of the wrench and tech article read and reread and scrutinized.

What the **** is wrong with you local people? People wonder why I don't come to meets? Nobody here can get along or make sense of anything. Look at this camping idea. How can you organize a camping trip if everyone going doesn't get along?

Like this current bickering. What good does it do? I feel like I'm stuck in the middle of a bitch fest between my g/f and best friends (assuming I had that problem). Every time I look at this thread someone is attacking someone else in some way or another. If one person says something that pisses you off, just let it go.

Then there's the Mazfiend guys. You just thrive on pissing people off. I have nothing against you, I don't hardly know you, but my God just give it a rest. I'd like to see some maturity. Everyone wonders why the FD guys don't come to the meets, and then I see comments like "louie swallows" every 6 posts. Come on, put the pieces together.

I look at EVERY other regional 7 "club" and am envious. They get together, have a good time, and all get along. Look at the mid-Tenn guys. They have fun and have great get togethers that don't involve a parking lot. I'd rather go to the Gar-B-Q than anything around here and that would be a 3 hour drive in a car with no air/radio.

Do you have any idea how sad it was that the LOCAL guys wouldn't even go to DGRR? Going to the Dragon and doing a few runs has nothing to do with DGRR. You can do that anytime, and you do go often. It's about the get together, meeting people, seeing the car show, etc. It's awesome to put a face and car to people you see posting on the forum.

I'm sure I'm going to catch flack for this, but I don't give a damn. I'm tired of this crap.

I hope the people being referred to don't take this personal because I'd prefer to keep a good relationship with all of you, but if you do, so be it. Like I said, you've all been cool to me and I appreciate it. My comments are directed at the current (and recurrent) situation, rather than the people involved. However, I can't affect your decisions.

I agree that upgrades need to be taken slowly, but I must say that waiting for a suspension piece to break to replace it is quite dangerous, especially if you're running the Dragon. The G's put on the suspension running the Dragon are greater (probably) than at any other place which means if something is going to break, it'll be there. I'd rather not have something break at the Dragon.

On the plus side though, I agree with getting accurate gauges. I've had good luck with my stock temp gauge, but I do eventually want a water temp gauge. Also, I feel you on the interior. I, for some unknown reason, can't be my air to work and I have no radio since it was stolen before I bought the car and all the wires were ripped/cut. I haven't bothered to get around to replacing it. But, I'd rather listen to my car for changes in sound than the radio.

My aluminum hood doesn't bounce at all.

Wait... Rob... you do realize you're bickering about bickering by bickering, right? I agree with a lot of that, and that's why I don't post in the Mazdafiend thread. As for our meets, we do have a lot of fun. All of our latest meets have been centered around other events, and it's been a blast. Even if we do just meet up to hang out or cruise the Dragon, I have a lot of fun because these guys are pretty cool guys in person.

Are you still wanting this air pump?

Bickering is fighting amongst people. I'm bitching.

And yeah, I could still use the airpump. I'll be going and working on my car Wednesday (probably) for a few days so before then would be great. If not, that's cool. It's not like I'm going to get everything done. I have to work on the 7 and play with my new buffer. All in all, I'm looking at hours upon hours upon hours upon hours of car related goodness.

Thanks Jimi, I love you too man.

But seriously, we do post some stupid **** sometimes. Though this forum is for RX7 heads, Rotary Heads, or people inquiring on how to fix or mod their sevens, we get a little board and talk nonsense to each other. A lot of times it's me, my cousin and my brother, but we're family, and I guess that's the way we get along. We don't mean to offend anybody.

We don't Hate, We appreciate! (for lack of better words)

So next chance you get (MY5A), if you can make a meet, come down, chill. We may just meet drive and eat, meet drive to someones house who needs help with their 7, or meet at the track! You just don't know until ya go. Nevertheless, it beats staying at home.

This also goes for to all those out there who own a rotary in the Knoxville area, and are willing to cruise or hang out, come on out to the next meet!

Thanks Jimi you're the best!
