out of the 3 runs i lost 1. 1st was a 20 and he got the jump on me. Came back in 4th gear @ 145 and evened up with him

2nd run we did a dig and put 2-3 cars. hit 3rd & 4th and was comming back but it was too late. My 5th is sloooooow so i stopped and he left with a car & 1/2

3rd run was a 40 and i brake boosted. put 3 cars on him around 125 in 4th gear, but we kept going and put around 4-5 cars @ 171
3rd run

Your sig says 478 Hp. I assume you are guessing flywheel Hp based on an actual rwhp dyno result? How much rwhp does your FD make?

in my iopinion dynos are "sketchy" at best. not calling darkphatoms rwhp bs but i always liek to see that number backed up with a trap speed.

having said that i;de liek to see dark phatom trap 128-131 with that kind of rwhp. compared to the vetter at 123-125mph

A dynojet is not sketchy. It's an actual power measurement, not some guy's "guesstimate" of power hitting the pavement. Conditions such air, humidity, etc. will always be present which affect (to a lesser extent) power output but a dyno plot lists these key conditions at the time of test.

Gnubber, you are refering to the std C6 (not the fixed roof ZO6) that has roof adherence problems.

i havent taken the car to the track. but i will do this weekend. and please be patient for the videos. Anybody know what i have to do to hook up the camera to the computer. all i have are the av jacks for like the VCR

the numbers are at the wheel! Heres the 478 dyno sheet
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...g?t=1169413151

NOTICE HOW THE PULL STOPPED AT 478hp BUT THAT PULL WAS ON 22LBS AND I WAS ON 15lbs

the only thing that he had the advantage is his car jumps as if jesus is helping push the car on the 3rd honk

Pal,

1) I don't see your dyno sheet in your link.

2) Your sig says 478 HP (should be rwhp if it is at the wheels) @ 17.5 lbs

3) You then say your dyno of 478 (lets assume you meant rwhp) was at 22 lbs
Which is it? 17.5 or 22 lbs?

4) Why would you race a ZO6 on a lower boost level (15 lbs) when it's been planned well in advance?

I don't doubt your story....you just seemed confused on power output though?

1) well its there on the link 3) 22lbs, the dyno sheet you see is at 22lbs but we stopped the pull @ 6500rpms and the hp stopped @ 478hp, but i make 478 @ 17lbs
4) cause on 22lbs with 30more hp on my car than a z06 it wouldnt really be a race. Its then obvious who would win. I was just demostrating how much hp it is need to beat a c6 z06 (read the thread title)

damn those new cars!!

brake boosting is a must. otherwise youll spend half of the time cathing up.

be aware with that power i had i wasent walking him. more like creeping slowly when i was catching him! so if they put a certain distance on you it would take even longer to catch up. and most race to 140mph

I know i'm a little late to the argument, but doesnt the power curve have a lot to do with it? sure power to weight is great, but only at peak power. you'll notice the vette has way more power throughout the power band, shouldn't we use a combination of peak hp to weight, and also the area under the entire power curve?

If you have a peak power to weight ratio of 10 that only lasts 1 second, a power to weight ratio of 8 that lasts for 10 seconds will win.

Thats moreso on a person who cant shift and ends up out of the powerband after the shift. Or a car that has a small range of peak torque and hp. AKA the FD in this case.

With a car like the C6 Z06, that has a torque curve through ALL rpm's so even though you fall out of "peak" range, you're still making a shitload of torque and hp.

this cracks me up! you dont need 500+ hp fd to beat a c6 z. i beat my friends car by 1 1/2 - 2 cars he has a 570whp 2002 trans am. its all about that power to weight ratio and the driver too. dont get it twisted!
