Richmond VA RX-7 Owners
i was only 5 seconds behind you
better watch out man... haha
at the end of my last run, i heard this nasty sound coming from the car.. turns out that so much body flex that i BENT a heat shield up to hit the driveshaft. i mean, thast the only thing i can come up with, it has a wide stretch between bolts, and i dont see how else it would of bent..
i loved the course though.. has to be one of the best at cloverleaf. coming out of that box and going down hill at top of 2nd gear, then hauls *** through that one turn.. best **** ever
im starting to think instead of building up the 2.3 rx7, i should of built a rock solid first gen for autox..

1.1, It could be body flex, but I had the same problem with my 1st gen as well, and I didn't have near the power you have. I just took the sheild off and pounded it out a little, never had another problem.

I'm just wondering, after all that time and money on the 2.3, can you get back what you put into it?

After all that work? When I drove your car last year I had a blast, so I'm all for building it up. You have a really nice platform and it won't take much to put you up top in CSP.

thats my problem, i have put alot of money into it that im afraid i wouldnt get back, and not only that, all the time and effort. there was ALOT of time and effort into that car, and i wouldnt want to sell it and see someone else with it, especially since ive only made it out to one event, i dont want someone else taking credit for it, ya know?
im mixed right now, i know i cant drive it with the weather this hot.
and also, what happened to all those people that used to run csp? its basically just me and you now, the mr2 doesnt really count in my book

You guys might be interested in knowing that the County Commission in New Kent County just passed the zoning stuff necessary to give hte go-ahead for Dragons Ridge Motorsports park. It is looking more promising that there will be a road racing track that is not much farther than some of the current autocross sites.
There is a proposed track diagarm at the end of this link:

They all went to ST-2 because they got tired of me beating them.

Hey Zach, I met Roy a little while ago, he told me about your sr. design project... any way I can see that?

Just to say it for no reason, Rob, do you remember when we went to the TT lounge, my idle was pretty bumpy? The TPS was out of whack! Recalibrated it on the laptop, and took some fuel out in the idle map and it hummmmmms!

Hey zach got a ??? for ya.I pulled the motor from my vert, and it had no compression on the rear rotor at all.Well i had it sitting on the hoist swapping everyhting over to a new used motor, and noticed the pineapple insert on the rear six port had slipped up in the sleeve and was actually blocking the port closed.I spun the motor by hand and now i have compression on the rear rotor,do you think that six port sleeve being being blocked by that stupid pineapple insert would have anything to do with not having compression?
I don't see how blocking off the 6th port would harm compression at all, especially since they are closed most of the time anyway! Thats really weird that the compression came back from the dead. It's like a zombie rotary, or something.

I don't think I posted in here before, amazingly. I don't visit the NE forum as often as I should. I guess I'm just too enamored with the SE.
Anyway, at the risk of sounding like I'm spamming, I have an OBX cruise in the works, on July 10 (and possibly 11). More info here:

I'd be glad to have any of you come join us.
There's already someone from Jax, FL, who intends to come, so you can't complain about the distance
