Then the clutch is going in this weekend if everything pans out. Notice how everyone got REALLY quiet once I said I was doing work?

So, does anyone have a front plate bracket??!
If you'd like, I can pick one up from CAP, but that won't be for a day or two atleast (and if they have one). Or, I'm stopping by woodfin auto parts again (another fiasco... for a spindle/hub assembly).

Be happy! Whenever I get pulled, I get accused of racing (with no proof), doing better than 80 (with no proof, I was going 45 passing cars that had just gotten a green light...I was in an open lane and had braked early, following and EVO and a WRX). I still get tickets though...

Yep.

Front plates are dumb. I keep it under my seat. I figure thats close enough to the front.

I've only had one ticket for it so far. I just pay em off. It's worth maintaining the sexyness of my car.

haha...yeah i had never been pulled for about the first 2 years i owned my fd...and then all of a sudden i got a new front end and got pulled 5 times in a span of 4 weeks (not to mention i was hardly driving the car at all) I didnt get a tickets until the first and the fifth time just happened to be the same cop....go figure...he was real cool and said to take a picture and bring it to court and the judge would probably let me off. Needless to say that didnt happen and i got the ticket. I made a custons bracket because i refuse to drill or block my FMIC. Good luck with yours though...best of luck!

id say just stick it on there with some tape long enough to take the picture...but thats just me. i can get my license back next friday, the 14th. the car is done, except paint. im going to drive it for a while and see if it wants to hold together, and if so, the paint shall come. i have been seeing so many nice cars lately, its making me jittery...saw a red evo 8 in newport news today, a 350z, and ive seen the same black porsche 911 or 12 for the past two weeks...also those wierd crossfire cars are everywhere now. and ive got this obsession with the scions xbs'...lowrider at heart. for the 7 though, front and rear anti sway bars soon come...

Update on brian's car:

Azenis ROCK. I'm driving around on the azenis till sunday to get some mileage on em to break em in, and cause it's so damn fun. I'm gonna rotate em tonight then go for a drive (got about 60-70 miles on em now). I've ordered my boost gauge and gauge pod (it replaces the top half of the steering column), and I'm ordering my ground control coilovers tonight. Oh yeah, and my tunerz black type r spec c gtr lug nuts I'm ordering tonight. And then I'll have $41 left in my bank account, yay! Next up is exhaust, but it'll be a while before I get enough money for it. Oh yeah, and probably a boost controller sometime soon (gonna run 8.5-9 PSI, stock is 6.5 or so).

Who's coming to the autox this weekend? I can't wait to see how these azenis do. Courtney is going down in STX :p.

Anyone know if people still meet @ short pump mall and what time? I'm thinking about hitting that up tomorrow, followed by a wrx meet somewhere, then wendy's on southside (lotsa cars meet there.) Any info is appreciated.

~7:45, outer edge of the parking lot near dicks sporting goods.

Quote from the RX-8 club:
I will be there this Friday, and I'm always excited to see more rx8's. Yeah it's at the short pump mall and people usually start showing at around 7:30-8pm.

We usually park in the same area near a store called Dick's Sporting Goods. A bunch of car enthusiasts just hang out and talk about anything car or non car related, it's usually good fun. We have people showing with rx8's, WRX's, STI's, Evo's, 350Z's, Porsches, S2000, to Corolla's. Sometimes we get a couple of FC's and FD's as well. Lately it's been dominated by the Subarus and Evo crowd.

People usually congregate outside of Starbucks in the mall depending on weather. We stay there and chill for a little while, and then poeple usually go elsewhere to hang out afterwards as well.

I always get somewhat paranoid when we all leave the mall as a group. A line of sports cars leaving together and driving down broad sure does attract tons of attention. Doesn't help that some of the cars are modded and some rev their engines to let the others hear there exhaust. It's cool though.
Everyone has fun in a pack till we see a cop and calm down and it get the farthest lane away...hehe.

So people go driving after it? Sounds like fun. Are you gonna be there? I hope the weather holds off.

No, I found it on the Rotary Ressurection photo gallery.

Uhhh, so, like, it doesn't look exactly like yours.

Damn Brian, your car is rollin pretty good right now. Should be pulling some impressive times with coilovers and more boost!

BTW, I hit a huge pothole and destroyed both of my left side wheels, so if you see a pair of 17" Konig Rated R's anywhere, let me know. I'm sportin the old phone dials again.

Jeez zach, sorry to hear about the wheels.

I won't be running the MBC during autox, that'd put me in street mod lol. I'm gonna stay in STX for a little then eventually move to DSP and get r-compounds. When I get my front mount I'll go to DSP. I'm sending the money for the coilovers today, so I should have them on next weekend. There's an autox next sunday @ Fentress that I might go to.

Joe, are you going tonight?

Before they were discontinued, about $110 ea. Now, the best I've found is 154 ea. at racerwheel.com.

Hate to tell ya, but did you add 36 for the 17" wheel size? That's the same site I quoted a price from!

Those are the same guys that want $216 each for the ADR Revolution (16x7) that I need one of. I can't find anyone else that has any available so.. I guess I am stuck with it. I only paid $650 for the tire and rim package when I got the things in the first place. Considering that the Toyo T1S were the tires I got which cost about $130 each, I thought I got a great deal at the time. Now that I got run into by something big ugly and GM I have to replace the one wheel and am not thrilled.... If anyone knows of one anywhere in 16x7 4x4.5" bolt circle, 40mm offset, let me know.

BTW RX7 people in Tidewater are are getting together at the Hooters in Chesapeake if any of you happen to be in the area, Saturday about 4PM.

Man, wish I could have made shortpump tonight. I ended up having to go to the shop because coming back from gforce my friend behind me said one of my wheels was wobbling, so i went to the shop and checked all the torque and it was a little loose. I can't tell if they came loose or if I somehow messed it up, but I'm getting new lugs tomorrow just in case. the stock lugs are a tight fit, so maybe they aren't workin so well. At like 10 my friend and i went to wendy's but there was no one there (wtf?) then went to broad street. he got pulled over for not signalling when a cop tailgated him and he moved out of the way. he got a ticket for his exhaust and for his no front plate. I immediately did a u- turn at the next light, and this civic that was next to us with an exhaust got pulled over next to me as he was turning left (2 turn lanes). Cops tagteamed us like wh0a. I was afraid they'd say they were streetracing, but luckily they didn't. Needless to say I got the **** outta there. Luckily it didn't turn out too bad, but man i thought my friend was fucked.

hehe yeah, at least i got away. civic and my friend weren't so lucky. i was just waiting for a cop to pop out at me after the civic got pulled 50 feet from my friend being pulled, and right next to me. felt like i was in a video game lol, although i didn't "run from the cops", just got the hell away.
